Incredible location across from the beach. Room was spacious and had a view of the beach and the pier. These older buildings don’t have AC but a fan was provided as was a small portable fridge. We didn’t try the bar or restaurant so we can’t rate those. We forgot some important items in our room on checkout and the staff were amazing. They contacted us right away when they found the items and offered to have a staff member deliver them to us. Really helpful.

**Review** We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. It is very nice, charming and welcoming, with a fantastic location right on the seafront. Before our arrival, we had a few queries, and George was extremely helpful in clarifying everything for us. Throughout the reservation process and during our stay, the staff were wonderful and always happy to assist with any questions. One of the most important things for us was that the hotel is genuinely dog-friendly, as we travel everywhere with our small dog. It was great that she was welcome in the areas we needed, which made our stay much easier and more enjoyable. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit Eastbourne.

Had a lovely bank holiday weekend at this hotel . we were upgraded to rooms over looking the beach - which was amazing . the hotel is situated opposite the beach, in between the pier and bandstand - so perfect location . Theres no parking but if you pay £2.50 to the hotel you get a permit for 24 hours and we were lucky enough to park across the road . Staff were wonderful - very friendly and helpful they had a man playing piano in the evenings which was lovely and he was very knowledgable on all types of pianists which he made very interesting We were able to listen and watch the tribute acts that were on at the bandstand Wouldnt hesitate to return !

The service provided by the staff was excellent but money needs to be spent to improve the quality of the accommodation. Carpets were stained and the shading on the bathroom walls suggested that a flood had occurred.

The hotel was stunning, with an antique elevator and wonderful staff who upgraded my room to a full sea view suite! the bed was so comfy and ginormous, and the bath was incredible. The whole place was super clean and modern. I will say, the room is showing signs of wear. Orange (tan?) stains on the marble, bubbling wallpaper under the mirror over the sink and marks on the paintwork, but none of this could take away from the immaculately clean room and gorgeous bed.

A beautiful hotel right on the seafront. The staff are excellent and all of the amenities are fantastic. From the coffee in the lounge, cocktails in the bar and breakfast in the restaurant, it was all lovely. The room was huge as was the bathroom, with a gorgeous sea view. Dinner in the restaurant was complimented by a free drink on our first night. The food was lovely and the live pianist added wonderful ambience. The only niggles are that the dinner menu is a little restrictive for vegetarian/vegan diets and that room service for the breakfast took a while as they were busy but these are first world problems!

The hotel looks nice as you enter, and location is beautiful with a sea front view, but overall, not well kept. Door latches and toilet holders falling off, stains on the walls, dirty carpeting. King size bed was comfortable, but the room was drabby and unpleasant. I wouldn't stay here, again.

Hotel is a lovely old grande style. We had a seaview room that was enormous with settee, table and chairs, great views over the ocean and spacious bathroom so very comfortable. Only thing missing was a small fridge which could fit easily. Good restaurant onsite. The buffet breakfast was good (a cheaper option not stated on the menu) as we don't eat cooked breakfasts. The highlight was the evening piano bar with a great female vocalist (later in the week). Staff were very good. Parking is fine via a Hotel permit but be quick we were booked while inside getting it!

Flagged as a 5* hotel, but more like a 3* as no comparison with Eastbournes other 5* the Grand. An Impressive building on the seafront, and ok but some irritating things such as a 1900's lift! with concertina double doors that were very heavy to open/close. Fortunately the staff were alert to it and frequently helped out. Its Quaint but soon became annoying. Our partial seaview balcony room was big but bland, with few power sockets and a wall bar as a wardrobe. The kettle was immediately under the TV and so when in use, the steam went all over the TV, we avoided subsequently for the serious safety issue it presents. The balcony was very narrow 1mx2m and limited by large access step. Both of us tried the £20 breakfast once and thought it expensive and poor quality, so we breakfasted out for the rest of our stay. Its very well positioned so lots of eating places nearby, plus the Pier, Bandstand and promonade walk. Free welcome wine on the first night, but not a great quality for a "5*" hotel. Altogether a good but frustrating place to stay.
