A really nice place, lovely room and a great breakfast

Welcoming staff

Very good location, near to the centre, all very clean. Welcome was polite, but not particularly warm, no small talk like “how was your journey” etc. room was small, but clean and bed was comfortable, especially the pillows. Breakfast was between 8-9, not a very big window! Wasn’t particularly impressed with the cooked breakfast, bacon was hard, as if it had been cooked and kept warm in the oven, poached egg was hard first day, fried egg was very “runny” on second day. Honesty bar was not restocked.

We had a nice stay at The Edwardene B&B in Keswick. The location is excellent — just a short walk into the town centre — and the free on-street parking nearby was a real bonus. Breakfast was good overall. The first morning was good quality with local ingredients, and the second day, the eggs Benedict was a highlight. The breakfast staff were cheerful and friendly, which made for a pleasant start to the day. We also appreciated the quiet guest lounge, which was a comfortable space to relax and the lovely local toiletries in the bathroom. There were just a couple of minor negatives for us. Our room was in the rafters and a little awkward to move around in, especially as we’re both tall. Also, the very early breakfast times finishing at 9am and the 10am checkout felt a bit rushed — particularly on a Sunday. After a hard week at work, we’re not early risers at weekends for these reasons plus after an evening in the local ale houses we were quite tired, so this might not suit everyone. Overall, these were small points in an otherwise enjoyable stay. The Edwardene is a welcoming, well-located B&B and we’d recommend it to others visiting Keswick.

Breakfast!

Nothing was too much trouble, the hosts were very friendly and communicated everything I might need to know to make my stay as pleasant as possible. The room was perfect for my needs, lovely hot and powerful shower with very comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and cooked to perfection. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would stay again if I return to Keswick for another visit.

Lovely breakfast, friendly and welcoming staff, good service, nice lounge, and the room was very comfortable. And in a prime location, just a few minutes walk away from the centre of Keswick and Derwent Water.
