We have stayed at the Mount a few times before because it is convenient when we visit family. The staff are friendly and helpful and will do all they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The facilities are basic and in desperate need of renovation but generally clean. Breakfast is provided in the adjacent restaurant. There is a basic breakfast buffet and cooked options. Tea and coffee are available as are fruit juices and water. The coffee is provided in a flask but you can pay extra for a range of options from a machine. We asked for a milk alternative as my daughter is sensitive to dairy products and likes to have cereal for breakfast. We were provided with several small sachets of oat milk. On our previous visit we were provided with a small jug of soya milk which we were comfortable with. My daughter felt embarrassed having to open multiple sachets and having them on the table. She is autistic and felt too awkward to have cereal for the rest of her stay. She did not want me to speak to the staff at the time but it would be helpful to have alternative milks available as standard. Perhaps we should have asked in advance. One of the things that niggled was the reception not being manned most of the time. If we needed to talk to someone there was a button to press to alert the receptionist who was also working in the restaurant. On one occasion I waited 15 minutes and gave up in the end. This is not the place to stay if you want an above average experience.

The whole place smelt damp and musty, like it had been neglected. Whatever they cleaned the rooms with made it worse, I had to go buy febreze and ask the room not be cleaned anymore in order to keep the smell acceptable. Staff were great however, but despite this being the cheapest option you’d be much better served looking elsewhere.

at reception you have to press a doorbell which sounds in the pub next door, eventually, someone attends, not brilliant after a hard day. Wallpaper peeling off the wall in room and corridors, and in the bathroom, I've never seen so much black mould in my life, enough to pose a health risk. Never stay there again!

Old travel lodge building behind the pub, clearly in need of full renovation, after arriving remember I had been here several years ago, it was just as bad then. Really needs complete overhaul, smells of damp especially in hallway & up the stairs, shower floor in the room uneven around the bath in my room, i suspect rotten floor. Gratefully the mistake was only for 1 night, so .....

Very convenient for the M6. Staff friendly & helpful. First room, the power didn't work. We were moved, but in the second room, the toilet was leaking from the base. It was late, we were only there for one night & the bathroom was useable, so we didn't ask for another move.

The room was a bit tired but the main problem we had was there was only one electric socket that we could use as the only plug socked in the room was a double that was faulty , ( you could not put a plug in one side) we didn’t complain before going to bed , but after showering in the morning we could not use the hair dryer as the attached dryer cable would not reach the only working socket , no one at the desk to report it to when we left

I stayed there about 2004/5 when it was a Premier inn so was disappointed this time. The staff were excellent and the food was good. The premises were tired looking with worn and dirty carpets. All in all I would hesitate to return.

Ideal for a stop off, or maybe work related. Staff were great, lovely breakfast. Bit old school, with key for door, shower off the bath tap ( Although to be fair it was strong). No A/C so was pretty hot in the bedroom on this hot day / night. Fairly noisy traffic noise, bed comfy. Overall it was ideal for my one night stop overall as the price was reasonable.
