La Folie Douce Hôtel Chamonix

Don’t recommend for Americans during summer. No fans available, public restroom in hotel smells like poop. Kids screaming in the hall at 6am, room doors slamming til midnight. Creepy old dudes staring at young women by the pool. Bathroom smelled like mildew. 2 minutes before checkout, a receptionist came to vacate me & waited right outside the door for me to grab my bag & leave the room. Skip breakfast, can get better in town. Staff was mostly amazing. Couldn’t check in early, even though my room was ready and others were being checked in the same time. Generous with ice. Employees all kind and willing to help where possible. Sweat every night, little airflow even with windows open.

Very cool hotel! The lobby was done up in a retro-industrial-steampunk style and I loved it. This place is like a resort and even has trampolines for the kids. Awesome view of Mt. Blanc.

Excellent experience and a very nice hotel

Very clean rooms. Small bathrooms with toilet separate from shower & sink. NO A/C. Room was hot with temps in the high 80’s but windows open did help. A fan in the room would have helped. About 15 min uphill walk from downtown & train station. Good location for Aiguille du Midi, Montenvers, & Brevent.

Lovely hotel, in easy reach of the main part of Chamonix and cable car etc. Fantastic views of Mont Blanc from both our room and the pool, which was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was amazing, with a huge choice of different foods.

Really nice hotel with a beautiful view of Mount Blanc. Check in was not a pleasant experience at all, we arrived by motorcycle which we had already told them of in advance, we were very hot clad in bike clothing and were told we had to wait from our arrival at 3:15pm until exactly 4pm for our room to be ready! Would we like a drink in the bar we were asked! What in hot long biking trousers etc and in need of a shower! No thanks! Other peoe were checking in and receiving their room keys, only ine other couple had to also wait. I do understand it is a very large and busy hotel. One young male receptionist almost found it funny! We had to keep chasing if the room was ready whilst hanging around in reception right up to 4:01pm! We did not have breakfast as we were heading off early, by which point we were quite pleased about. The odd thing was we had only been able to book an accessible room when booking, however we did not receive one, we had a third floor small room with a very small shower. Also being British we had to request milk for our room which never cane and we had to go down and ask again. The hotel however is lovely and in a great location in Chamonix.

Be warned, this is a party hotel, it’s loud noisy and not very luxury at all. It was not what I expected and I was glad it was only one night. I joined the party because of you can’t beat them join them. Only go if you want a hotel that is a nightclub

Great location, hotel is large and and lively if that’s what your into. Has everything you need. The outside bar and pizzeria was a firm favourite with amazing views! All staff very helpful and friendly ❤️ The room for us could’ve done with some TLC

Greatly located, down town, nice bar and terrasse if you wanna party

Not 4* quality hotel - Small hot rooms, tv didn’t work, light in bathroom didn’t work. Bad smell from bathroom of sewage. Complaint made to both hotels.com and the hotel and although they moved us rooms, nothing was done about the poor experience on our first night except comp parking (which is €25 a day not a night) . Would not stay again

Great stay we had mom daughter time. Breakfast is unbearable good. Highly recommend.

Excellent breakfast. A cool trendy place to stay. My son liked it. Premium room was a little small and dated but over clean and comfortable. Very hot but opening back windows gives noise and interruptions at all times of tonight as people smoke and hangout loudly back by the back entrance. That was frustrating.

Un hôtel vraiment impressionnant et grandiose. Les chambres sont confortables, le personne aidant et accueillant. Quel complexe, piscine avec vue sur Mont Blanc, salle d'exercice, terrasse extérieur où il est possible de voir le foot sur écran géant. Que de beaux souvenirs

Breakfast is well worth it

Très bel hôtel avec un brin de folie, tout pour se sentir en vacances à Chamonix. C'était parfait.

Staff very unhelpful when revelers were partying outside my window until 3;00 in the morning. Just a very disappointing stay for over $200 a night.

This might be the most ideal family-friendly hotel we’ve stayed at. Very spacious rooms, an amazing pool with Mountain View’s, and cool decor everywhere.
