My second stay in this hotel, and I'm still happy with the services. The happiest part is they have tap water 😊 and super easy access to MTR and buses. Thank you Royal Plaza. PS: Need to watch out that there are rooms with separate showers and without. Please check prior to booking, especially for the elderly.

Very family friendly, the size of the twin beds is 140x200 which means if combined it becomes 280x200, the 5 of us (2 adults and 3 children) were very sufficient, no need for an extra bed and what made me impressed was that the hotel did not prohibit us when 5 people were in 1 room, where sometimes some hotels only allow a maximum of 4 people. In fact, we were given extra towels and amenities for our children. The staff were all very friendly, and most importantly it was close to the MTR station and there were many places to eat around. Highly recommended, next time I go to HK I will come back to this hotel

Stayed 6 nights at Cityview. The room was clean and drinking water was always available from the dispenser. The hotel is close to the MTR, hospital, 24-hour shops, and food stalls. A few minutes walk away, you can find fast food and other eateries. The staff was very friendly, even helping me provide first aid after I fell while walking on a rainy day. Highly recommended, I will stay here again if I visit Hong Kong 👍

Hong Kong is a city of distinct neighbourhoods, each offering a unique atmosphere and set of experiences. For international visitors, understanding these differences is key to crafting the perfect trip. Choosing your base wisely within this dynamic metropolis can significantly enhance your exploration, whether you're drawn to the bustling energy of commercial centres, the tranquility of residential districts, or the convenience of areas close to major transport hubs.

Use Traveloka to book attractions — book attractions.

Lantau Island

Lantau Island offers a dramatically different pace from the urban intensity of Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. It's home to the Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), but also boasts serene beaches, the majestic Tian Tan Buddha (Big Buddha), and the appealing Ngong Ping 360 cable car. This area is perfect for travellers seeking a blend of nature, culture, and family-friendly entertainment, especially those visiting Hong Kong Disneyland. It appeals to families and those looking for a more relaxed, scenic experience.

Staying on Lantau Island provides direct access to world-class attractions like Hong Kong Disneyland and the charming Tai O fishing village. The island offers a range of accommodation, from luxury resorts to themed hotels. The journey from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) is minimal, and the MTR and ferry services connect it to the rest of the city. This area is ideal for travellers who prefer a quieter, more refined atmosphere while still being within easy reach of the city's main attractions. It appeals to those seeking a peaceful retreat after a day of exploration.

While primarily residential, Kadoorie Hill's proximity to other Kowloon districts means that dining and entertainment options are never far away. Its serene environment provides a welcome contrast to the city's energetic core. Public transport links are available, allowing for convenient travel to and from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) and other parts of the city.
