City Hotel

very nice hotel, clean, good bathroom, very good size bedroom, walking distance to shopping , easy for public transit, good breakfast nice selection of sweets.

The hotel staff was very helpful. Scheduled a cab for me. Made me a cappuccino at 5am. The staff was incredible.

Several big errors in Expedia’s description of this place. 1) it is **NOT** connected by any kind of shopping center, even though the Expedia site specifically states “connected to Shopping Center”. It cost us $70 in euros return to get a cab to the mall and back! 2) there is ** NOT** “an airport shuttle”, in fact the cab they called charged us $40 for a 5 minute cab ride. Absolutely disgusting!! 3) there is no air conditioning and the rooms desperately need it, they are really stuffy and smell of mildew- and this isn’t even the “hot season” yet in early May, and when you open the windows you get the smell of sewage along with mosquitoes. The staff person on the front desk when we arrived spoke little to no English. We asked for a taxi to the mall, it took 4 times going back inside in 35 mins to ask where it was before anyone showed up and it was a woman in an unmarked car, who spoke zero English, and had to use a translator app. She was nice enough but this seemed really odd. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone English speaking, the area looks very sketchy around the hotel, and not safe. Looking back we should have stayed further away. I doubt a taxi would have cost any more than it did. Tourist gouging at its finest.

Great value, close to airport, professional front desk. Just right for our purpose - to get to the airport at 4am. They even arranged the ONLY reliable taxi we had during our whole trip.

The property is very close to the Gare du Nord train station and has some lovely breakfast cafes down the road. Only downside is we waited a long time for checkin even though there were only a couple people before us and two people at the desk.

Affordable

We stayed there for one night at last leg of our trip. We chose this hotel due to close proximity to airport. It’s a nice clean hotel. Staff was courteous and very nice. They booked us taxi for airport. Breakfast opens at 7 am, we had to leave for airport at 6:15 am and they made us cappuccinos to go. Area is residential and that’s why not a lot of restaurants within walking distance. Quiet neighborhood

Really impressed with our stay here! The staff was very friendly and helpful, our room was clean and comfortable. The view was incredible of Mt Vesuvius at night! They helped our luggage with no problem. Breakfast was fantastic. We also felt really safe… the surrounding area wasn’t the best as we discovered walking to the train station to visit Pompeii and we stopped at the Naples Central Station to find something to eat. The hotel we felt totally comfortable and safe. The staff helped us book a taxi which was £28 to the airport.

We only stayed one night at City Hotel in between cities, but it was good for the time that we did spend there. The staff were very helpful in finding us a ride to the ferry port, because the taxis to and from the hotel’s location have additional tariffs/fees. Very clean, and very comfortable beds.

The pace was very nice. The room was a little smaller but we weren't there for the room size. Clean hotel, easy quick experience. W e would stay again

Bus was not far from hotel which was great because we had all our bags the bus came and we left to amalfi. Do not recommend to stay here more than 1 day though not much to do around.

Shady area, kept hold of my passport for 2 hours because they were ‘busy’. Staff were a little rude.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel had plenty of secure parking. A few good local restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk. Otherwise a car or taxi is needed. Recommend a third floor which is very quiet. Surrounding area not so appealing but would not discourage visit.

If you only need basics, this property isn’t so bad. My main complaint is that they advertise a 24 hour airport shuttle service. The shuttle service was the main reason I booked this hotel. When I asked about it, the front desk staff said they do not offer that. Would I ever stay here again? No.
