Comfort Hotel Tomakomai

We had a very nice week-long stay at this hotel. It was easily accessible by bus and about a15-minute walk to the train station. After not finding a car to rent online, we were able to find one at the property next door. It is close to many places to eat and to convenience stores. Sapporo, beach locations, a main commercial avenue in Tomakomai and Chitose airport are all accessible by bus. However the nearby mountain lake was not, hence the need for a car. We stayed there because of the proximity to the ferry. The room is small but very well distributed with all comforts covered. The outside and neighbour noise was minimal. The breakfast was a delight each morning. It is a good base even without a car.

Pleasant hotel with friendly staff

Staff is not willing to help and inpatience with questions, even to their own Japanese folks. Coffee machine in lobby is restricted to "one cup" only. Everything will be charged extra fee. Don't lose your key, it will cost you 1000 yen for panelty. It is far from JR station, 20 minutes walk instead 10 as website said. Disappointed

Free hotel parking and complimentary daily buffet breakfast. The room is small but it is standard in Japan. The front desk staff are very friendly and help hotel guests at their best.

Stayed here after visiting Lake Toya. Much cheaper option than the hotels in Lake Toya area and good option before pressing on to other destinations (e.g. Furano). Very nice complimentary breakfast and free parking!

A great hotel with very efficient service, and important amenities on the house (i.e. free) which make all the difference, for example, free wi-fi, a coin-op laundromat, free breakfast (a proper one!), free coffee and tea in the afternoon till midnight (a really nice touch when you're tired and hungry but when it's not meal time yet!). The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and some could speak English too. The location is convenient if you rent a car, since it's only half an hour from Chitose Airport. There are also a few huge mega-supermarkets and different local restaurants around so you'll not go hungry! The rooms were clean and comfortable, with everything you need. All in all a great stay for a short stay enroute.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is a 15 minute walk away from the Tomakomi Train Station in Tomakomai City. It is a clean and friendly hotel with just the right amount of amenities to make it a comfortable stay. We had Japan Rail passes so each morning we were able to take a train into Sapparo (for the February Snow Festival). The ride is about 1/2hour long in each direction. The hotel is frequented by mostly lone businessmen but it worked out for us. Clean, simple, tidy rooms with internet access, a fridge and a small HD television. Breakfast is included every morning in a ground floor, bistro style eating area. The staff were professional and were able to assist us with general inquiries. Out of all the Comfort Inn hotels we've checked on or stayed at in Japan this one was the cheapest. Its a little ways from Sapparo but it was worth the stay. There are a few shopping malls right beside the Tomakomai Train Station as well if want wants to buy food, clothing, etc. There is a Tourist Information office at the Tomakomai Station as well if one is looking for sites or things to do in Tomakomai City (shopping, fish market, sea port, etc).
