in true Japanese character, the hotel was in perfect form from both the staff engagement to the facilities. This is not even taking consideration of the location being significantly convenient being above the train station which in itself for Western standards is well above our expectations.

This is a very big hotel located right next to Kyoto station. It has taxi stations out in the front of the hotel; one for foreigners and one for citizens. So very convenient for managing traveling. Yes, you can hear the trains going by from inside the room since the station is right next to the hotel. However it did not prevent us from sleeping well.

This is my favorite hotel to stay at, the location and staff are amazing. The only thing that was a little negative was the slight wear and tear of the tables in the room and the floor area around the toilet is a little stained. Other than that, I love the size of the room we have, it’s huge for by Japanese standard. Slept comfortably and would 100% stay again because of how convenient it is being next to Kyoto Station

The hotel needs a major refresh. The carpet in the room is visibly old and needs to be replaced. The vinyl flooring in the bathroom is stained and in terrible shape. The general cleaning for the actual room was good - the bathroom has a great shower. The bed was clean and the sheets were clean. The restaurants in the hotel are outrageously over priced. The morning buffet is also over priced - and they close too early. At 10:00 am they shut it down with no warning. The first time we got caught off guard and hardly had enough to eat. The other times we loaded up our trays to the brim so we would have enough food. The dinner menu is good but again over priced and the portions small. The location is outstanding right at the train station and close by is a great department store. The carpet in the hallway is very dirty - there we crumbs on it for three days. And the corners of the walls were in bad shape. The price is very high. I would stay elsewhere and take a taxi to the train station as it would be cheaper and I am sure I could get a nicer up to date hotel.
