This hotel is, by far, our favorite. From the moment we arrived until the day we departed, we were treated with nothing but respect and exceptional hospitality and service. The staff were very welcoming, polite, helpful, and accommodating, making our stay truly enjoyable. Our room featured a beautiful mountain view and included private hot springs, which added a relaxing and luxurious touch to our experience. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, and we especially enjoyed the omelet station. Although we did not have lunch at the hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. The hotel offers a different menu each evening, and the food was consistently delicious. Another convenient feature is the complimentary shuttle service to and from Odawara Station. While the hotel is located some distance from Tokyo, transportation is easy—we took the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Odawara Station, which made the journey smooth and efficient. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit the Odawara or Hakone area.

The room was ok... not incredibly spacious. Our room was also overlooking the parking lot and a construction zone, so that was strange. We really couldn't keep the blinds open. The room was advertised having an onsen, and really it was just a deep bath. For $800+ a night, we were expecting more. No coffee in the lobby in the morning (except if you were having the $40 breakfast). The people working there weren't as friendly and accommodating as we found throughout the rest of Japan. The bar area was nice and they offered a happy hour menu.

Everything superb. Room with onsen was amazing. Staff beyond belief. Breakfast tasty and varied. Across the bridge is an excellent sushi restaurant. Only downside is location requires shuttle or taxi to get to Gora Station. They provide free shuttle from 10 am to 6 pm. Also, we don’t like western dinners and that’s all that was available. Highly recommended.

3 night stay, upgraded us to the Riverside, which was nice. You could hear the sound of the river even through the closed sliding door. Our room had a private onsen—very nice, just big enough for 2 and on a covered balcony. We walked 4 minutes away to an excellent sushi place two nights, and the last night had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Where I come from, hotel restaurants are best avoided, but let me tell you about this one: one of the best steaks of my life. It was a Wagu T-bone, and then in fairness, it was probably the most expensive stake of my life, but it was beautifully served. Both sides were removed from the bone and the bone served along with the meat. Along with steak, which was served on a hot stone that kept the meat warm for the duration of our meal – super nice touch— we’re small piles of smoked sea salt extra coarse, ground pepper create a horseradish and another beautiful compliment that the server identified as Yuzu. It had the texture of the greater horseradish and the most amazing flavor. Finally was a tiny sauce pan of a beautiful, brown mushroom red wine reduction. Incredible meal. We shared the steak and also shared several starters who is the perfect amount. Hotel also sports of very nice fitness gym with a rowing machine in three visits there I’ve never saw another soul. Gora is a bit of a challenge to get to. And if you’re adventurous and don’t have huge luggage, you could brave the hike from the station to the hotel. We did.

Truly the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. I grew up in Idaho and never imagined I’d get to stay somewhere like this. This was our big splurge night of the trip, and it was worth every single penny. From the second we arrived, the service was incredible! Warm, kind, and genuinely thoughtful. Nothing felt forced or overly formal. Every interaction felt personal. The room was absolutely beautiful. Modern but deeply rooted in Japanese aesthetics. Natural wood, stone textures, soft lighting, clean lines. It felt calm the second we walked in. Everything had intention behind it, and the space just made you exhale. And the setting…unreal. The mountains were moody and misty in the distance. You could see and hear the river below from the balcony, and snow was falling. Sitting in the private onsen while warm water surrounded us and snow drifted down in the cold mountain air is something I’ll never forget. The sound of the river, the winter mountains, the quiet, it was pure peace. We booked this hotel for the private balcony onsen, and I basically lived in it. We ordered room service for dinner and had Western breakfast the next morning, both were delicious and generous. When Miyuki brought our breakfast, she surprised us with special paper cranes she had folded. That small gesture meant so much and perfectly captured the care and hospitality here. This stay honestly felt surreal. It wasn’t just a hotel, it was an experience I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
