This hotel is an excellent place, and a good value for money. The place is small, but it has most of the things you need as a traveller. It is right next to the road, but absolutely minimal noise given it’s not a busy road most of the day. Walking to the Kyoto station takes about 5-10 mins. The first thing I noticed was how clean and tidy our room was, and how well-maintained everything was. Staff communicated well in English and were really helpful and respectful. Breakfast needed a separate booking with an additional charge, however, it was very convenient, clean and tasty and was a buffet with a sufficient variety. We didn’t use laundry as we stayed 3 days. This is not a resort, so don’t expect it to have gyms and game rooms, etc. Kyoto and the surrounding areas have way more things for sightseeing, so you need 3-4 days minimum (unless you plan to stay in Nara separately). I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely be there again. Thank you.

Comfortable, conveniently located, with a relaxing onsen and very gracious and helpful staff. The rooms are much larger than many of the hotels we had been at in Japan, and have these beautiful rice paper screens over the windows that made it feel very private while still allowing in natural light. The location is only a 10-15 min walk to Kyoto station depending on how fast you walk, so it made all of our day trips easily accessible without hiring taxis. Being across from the incredible Buddhist temple was also a plus, as you could early in the morning to pray, reflect, and appreciate the architecture without the crowds (just make sure to be super respectful and quiet while you are there, follow the signs and take off your shoes). The staff were very kind and understanding even though we had, at that point, a ludicrous amount of luggage and clothes that definitely needed a good wash. They patiently helped us store bags before and after check in, ship our larger suitcase, and answer our questions about the coin operated laundry machine. Working in customer service is a demanding and difficult job, especially when dealing with tourists, and yet all the staff were still so gracious. We really appreciated them taking the time to help us! The onsen is very relaxing and open late into the night, midnight when we were there, which was great for after dinner soaks. They have a lava rock hot spring part of the spa that was our favorite! Highly recommend!

Fantastic view. Very spacious. Staff were super helpful. Absolutely the Kyoto experience we were looking for. The short walk to Kyoto station made it a great base for our time in Kyoto. The dining area in the room was super helpful for a family of 5 with fussy eaters. Small touches everywhere that made it a very special place to stay and a wonderful memory.

The location of this hotel is great and the public bath and hotel shuttle are a plus. The staff was kind and efficient. The bed was comfortable, but could have had two pillows per bed. Also they could have upgraded towels as they were small and tiny. We had to ask for extra towels for our two night stay, especially since you need to take the towels from your room to the public bath.
