The cottage is very roomy and served my needs well. I checked in at Naoshima Tours, which is a couple blocks in from the ferry terminal and then it's about a 10 minute walk to the cottages. I had a roller suitcase and rucksack appropriately packed so I could leave the suitcase at Naoshima Tours and proceed with my rucksack. (They will transport luggage to/from the cottages for a fee.) Overall it's convenient but be prepared to get to the location. The cottage has a small kitchen area with refrigerator, sink, and microwave, which I used to make coffee in the morning and heat some takeout one evening. I reserved breakfast on two mornings, which is served in the hotel dining room, a short walk on a path up the hill adjacent to the cottages. The bathroom area is very small behind a sliding door with sink as you enter, toilet to the right (behind a door) and shower to the left. It was adequate for me. The only complaint I have is that there was no provision to hang up towels, which were provided in a basket in the kitchen.

Super clean, quaint, and comfy accommodations. I really loved it for our stay in Naoshima. It was so peaceful and a great location to walk from the port and to the museums. It's definitely a bit of a hike to the museums, but we were looking to do some walking. The local bus stop/port was not too far, so if you're looking to take local transport it was not far and nearby some cafes. Everything was less than 10min away. My Lodge was also conveniently nearby. You can take a path that leads all the way up to the main lodge where you can enjoy a nice meal with a view. Highly recommend taking up a reservation before your arrival, as it does seem to fill up. I would 100% recommend and return for my next trip. Thank you! :)
