Front desk office was attentive and polite. There was also a counter which had fruit-infused cold water. This is an excellent way to beat the heat! The room was clean and quite spacious. I tried the breakfast and the choice of food was excellent and delicious. There was cereal, salad, yogurt, juice, western dishes, nasi lemak with delicious rendang, dim sum, etc. There was also tea, coffee, and fruit-infused water which was a great healthy option. Hotel location is excellent (less than 5-minute walk to Queensbay Mall, short drive to airport). Highly recommended hotel for your next stay in Penang.

Effective 1 September 2017, hotel guests who are non-Malaysian or non-Permanent Residents of Malaysia are required to pay a tourism tax of MYR 10.00 nett per night per room for all registered hotels with the Malaysian Government. Great, everything works. Only inconvenience to note if u book the same room under 2 different reservations, u need to reactivate your room cards for the next booking. We stayed over 3 nights. Booked 2 nights with breakfast & 1 without breakfast coz of an early flight. We had to reactivate the cards even though it’s for the same room, under the same name.

Our stay at Eastin Hotel Penang was excellent. The hotel provided a comfortable, clean, and quiet environment, and its proximity to Queensbay Mall was very convenient. A special commendation goes to Ms Azura, whose consistent warm welcome and cheerful demeanor significantly enhanced our breakfast experience. The breakfast itself was already among the best we have encountered. Additionally, Dave, the chef at the warm food counter, consistently prepared exceptionally fluffy and moist omelets. Mr. Shakib, a member of the executive lounge service crew, was remarkably attentive. He was the first to proactively inquire if we required any alcoholic beverages or beer, beyond those available at the self-service drink counter. Our housekeeper, Jitender, also deserves recognition. He always greeted us with enthusiasm and diligently ensured that everything was in order throughout our stay. We look forward to returning to Eastin Hotel Penang on our next visit to the area.

My partner and I stayed at The Eastin as we were running the Pantai Marathon and the start line was 300 metres from the hotel. Our stay was comfortable but nothing special. The hotel is a bit tired compared to other hotels I’ve stayed in Penang and the 4 star rating is pushing it. The rooms are small and the upgraded “sea view” rooms were not worth the money. The view was primarily other buildings and roads. There were no towels at the swimming pool, we had to go up the gym to find the last two. The gym looks great although we didn’t use on this occasion. In short, a fairly good business hotel or somewhere to stay for one night close to the airport.
