When I arrived at 3 p.m., the receptionist was a woman of Indian descent. She was quite friendly and spoke English well, but she didn't seem like the type to chat. In the afternoon and evening, the receptionist was a very friendly, hijab-wearing Malay woman who spoke English well. I walked back and forth to the front desk several times, and I saw her chatting for quite some time with different guests. The location is very strategic, close to Little India and Chinatown, which are full of food vendors and restaurants. It's also close to the St. George Church bus stop, which also passes by the CAT bus. The building is quite old but well-maintained. A complimentary breakfast is provided, including toasted bread (toasters are available), coffee/tea, sugar/creamer, and butter/pineapple jam. There are also glasses and a hot or cold water dispenser for free drinks. The only thing I found uncomfortable was that the glasses were made of metal and had rust on the bottom and rim. The rooms are quite large and comfortable, but getting a room on the second or third floor can be difficult, especially with suitcases, as the stairs are narrow and there's no elevator. The rooms have a small wardrobe and a power outlet in a lockable cabinet. Amenities include large, clean towels and shampoo and soap (available in the bathroom). The bathroom is also clean and has a shower. Overall, I still enjoyed and highly recommend staying at Red Inn Court.

I do not recommend anyone to stay here, every service staff here is very cold, there is no service at all. In addition, I stayed here for two nights, and on the first night, my skin on my thighs and calves began to itch, and I thought it was just a normal mosquito bite, but when I left my bed the next day, the itching stopped. When I went back to bed to take a nap, the itching started again, so I checked my legs and found that it was a very serious allergy, with many red spots and bumps, the bedding was very wet, and there was a strong musty smell in the room, so everyone should pay attention.

The staff were friendly and the included breakfast of toast and watermelon (and coffee & tea) was good. I didn't get much sleep during my stay because my bed was too hot. The room itself was cold, but once in bed, I guess the air couldn't actually get through the privacy curtains. I ended up just pushing them down and sleeping with them open although that didn't seem to help much. At the top of the bed is a cupboard where the powerpoint is, so you have to leave the cupboard open to charge your devices, which would be fine except the cupboard door opens downwards and rests on the bed (at some point in the past, it had hinges to keep it up but they broke a long time ago). So to sleep while charging my phone, I had my pillow at the end of the cupboard door (losing about 20cm of bed space), which meant my feet were at the very bottom of the bed. I'm a small person so it wasn't too bad but it wouldn't work for anyone taller. There is one bathroom area for both the rooms on my floor (one is a female dorm and the other is mixed). The bathroom is an open area with individual stalls for showers and toilets, with the sinks at either end. I had four showers during my stay and three of them were lukewarm and one was hot, so the heat level probably just depends on when you're showering. This hostel is in a good location and cheap, so you very much get what you pay for. For the price, it's pretty good, really.

You can't wear shoes, so you can hear them thumping around. There are rats on the first floor, it's insane. I wanted a lower bunk, but they wouldn't give it to me, even though there were empty ones. The upper bunk doesn't have a railing, it's scary, I'm afraid I'll fall off. I'll never stay there again.

I got a cheap price, and didn't expect the room to be that great, only 4 people in a room, the bed was quite spacious, the blanket was thick, the room smelled nice, and it wasn't noisy.
