When I arrived at 3 p.m., the receptionist was a woman of Indian descent. She was quite friendly and spoke English well, but she didn't seem like the type to chat. In the afternoon and evening, the receptionist was a very friendly, hijab-wearing Malay woman who spoke English well. I walked back and forth to the front desk several times, and I saw her chatting for quite some time with different guests.
The location is very strategic, close to Little India and Chinatown, which are full of food vendors and restaurants. It's also close to the St. George Church bus stop, which also passes by the CAT bus.
The building is quite old but well-maintained. A complimentary breakfast is provided, including toasted bread (toasters are available), coffee/tea, sugar/creamer, and butter/pineapple jam. There are also glasses and a hot or cold water dispenser for free drinks. The only thing I found uncomfortable was that the glasses were made of metal and had rust on the bottom and rim.
The rooms are quite large and comfortable, but getting a room on the second or third floor can be difficult, especially with suitcases, as the stairs are narrow and there's no elevator. The rooms have a small wardrobe and a power outlet in a lockable cabinet. Amenities include large, clean towels and shampoo and soap (available in the bathroom). The bathroom is also clean and has a shower.
Overall, I still enjoyed and highly recommend staying at Red Inn Court.
