We stayed at Temple Tree for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon and couldn’t have had a more amazing stay. We were greeted with a drink and cookie upon check-in, then upgraded to a four-bedroom villa with a private pool which was incredible and so appreciated. We loved the history of the houses which were so unique but still beautifully decorated with everything you could need. We were even provided with insect repellent. The hotel grounds are beautiful, as is the setting. Only a few minutes’ drive to the main beach but it felt like a sanctuary in the middle of the jungle. We had massages whilst there which were great and very reasonably priced. The food in the restaurant was also very good and all staff were lovely. They even sent us off with some fruit and pastries for breakfast on our day of departure as we had to leave for an early ferry. The only thing we would change would be a slightly earlier start time for breakfast, but that’s probably more due to our jet lag than it being overly late (8am). Thank you for a wonderful stay - we’ll be back!

Our favourite stop on our 3.5 week malaysia holiday. Has a very relaxed feel, immaculate gardens, long thin warm pool and the staff are excellent. Food was amazing so much so we ate there every night but one when we went to the night market. Hotel can deliver car to you for 100MR (£17) for 24 hours and arrange other trips. Cats are around if you dont like but are friendly - my son wanted to take one home! Did hear the prayer call about 5.30am which woke me up but to be expected on island. Also near airport so will be some plane noise but not very often.

The property offers an unique setting in which you stay in onl refurbished colonial houses. They indeed look good. But there are a lot of shortcomings. Everything is screeky and full of spots good for mice to get in. Also it's poorly insulated meaning if you start air conditioning it all goes. Which is fine but they leave the aircon on all..time. The houses are extravagantly furnished... Like one had a mosquito net around the bed, which would not close at all, making it useless beyond the decoration. We were offered to use one of the electric mosquito killer that you put those tablets in, which are not good when you have a child. We had to upgrade to another room. This one was weird too. It had a living room without windows with European style fabric sofas, was hotter than anything in the universe. Again just for decoration. It felt like everything was just a huge show and confort was very little. Staff was always busy chatting between themselves like in a office. We arrived no one helped me. Then they wanted to do a self checkout. Somehow by putting a picture of all passports together while keeping them open. I asked the employee to check me in and he wasn't pleased! At night everything was noisy. They provide earplugs in every bed. Which is not a good prospect. And not practicable when you have kids. At night was full of frogs, airplanes and the house was noisy. You will also need to use taxis to get to the beach. Not safe to walk. I don't recommend this place at all.

This property is really one of its kind, nothing commercialised about it. My mom really enjoyed the scenery and how peaceful it is here, it’s great for a relaxing vacation to just take your mind off things back home. It is the definition of slow living here, and learning to appreciate and be in tune with the beautiful surroundings and unique heritage houses. Bonus point being that there are MANY estate cats here who are very friendly and happy to lounge with us in our room everyday. Loved it here, and will defo be back again.

The hotel has a big need for maintenance! Whether in the rooms or in the common areas, everything is a little shabby. We had a problem with the toilet (unuseable for two days). Fortunately, the hotel gave us the keys to another room and they credited us one night. That said, at the price of the night, it is not acceptable. The hotel is close to a busy road and the airport, there are also dogs that bark at night: you will need ear plugs to sleep! The staff is friendly and helpful and, overall, the dishes and cocktails offered at the restaurant are good. The prices of dishes and cocktails are reasonable, especially with happy hour (buy 2 get one free) for cocktails I won't go back there if I ever come back to Langkawi

If there’s some improvement needed it will be the breakfast spread , it wasn’t the best and fresh options given . Also at night it was hard to sleep as the walls around was thin so we could hear noises as we slept .

What I liked about this property was that it was like stepping back in time (early 1900s). I loved how picturesque the property is and the units are decorated superbly. Location is okay, if you’ve rented a car. The staff was awesome. They were always so kind, helpful, accommodating. Excellent customer service. Also, the mattresses were of good quality. What I didn’t like about my stay was the amount of bugs that crawled into our house and the musty smell of the linens and pillows. The A/C didn’t work well either and, even though the mattresses were good, the heat and the amount of bugs didn’t allow me and my family to sleep well. We were happy to go back home.
