From the time of booking to the day we checked out, we had a fantastic experience with Riad Jona. They arranged for an airport shuttle as well as a cart to wheel our luggage the 5 min walk from the Main Street to their location (a must over the uneven cobble stone roads of the Medina), gave us a warm welcome of Moroccan Tea & biscuits in the sitting room as we checked in, and easily handled all the little details of our stay that we needed help with. Food was delicious (we had the Lamb & Chicken Tajine for dinner and would highly recommend it!) as well as fresh fruits, yogurt, breads & coffee for breakfast. I opted for a Hammam & massage our first morning there and it was amazing! The hot tub was closed but the pool was open, though it was too cold and rainy out to use it. The rooftop garden will be stunning in the spring / summer when everything is in bloom, and there are lots of cozy sitting areas throughout the Riad to relax. We enjoyed a Hookah the first night there which the staff set up for us, and were only a 5 min walk away from the main square of the Medina and Bahia Palace. We were so impressed with our entire stay, and absolutely loved all the staff. We highly recommend Riad Jona for anyone who wants a true Moroccan welcome and overall experience!

Everything in the riad was top notch. Only had one issue with one of the staff member. Hassan was overly friendly and gained our trust. He then connected us with a taxi driver who scammed us. the rate was decided ahead of time but after the trip he was asking for triple the amount. He also took us to a shop that scammed us and overcharged us. When we returned to our riad, Hassan was no where to be found. He knew he did us dirty and hid from us. I feel like Hassan and the taxi driver works together to scam people by gaining trust. Be careful and don’t trust anyone there.

We stayed at Riad Jona for three nights and found several aspects of the property genuinely enjoyable. The riad is beautifully decorated, centrally located, and very convenient for exploring Marrakech. Our room was spacious and clean, and the staff were generally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We also thoroughly enjoyed the massage itself, which was excellent. However, there were a number of issues that affected our overall experience. Unfortunately, we had no hot water for two of the three nights. Although we were offered a room change on the final night, the inconvenience had already impacted our stay. The first room we were assigned also had an unpleasant sewage-like smell, which was disappointing. There were also some unusual and avoidable service concerns. At 11 p.m. one evening, we were asked to settle the bill because the card machine “might not work” the next morning, which felt inconvenient and unnecessarily stressful. When the bill arrived, we noticed an erroneous charge for an extra coffee, and a miscommunication resulted in an overcharge for the massages. We were also meant to receive a complimentary bottle of wine, which was never provided. Additionally, although the massage itself was very good, the therapist arrived slightly late. Riad Jona has a lot of potential thanks to its charm, location, and overall ambiance, but more consistency and attention to detail would significantly improve the guest experience.

Great hotel in a great location if you don’t want to be a 15 minutes cab ride away from the central hub. What is not conveyed is that all the hotels in the region are NOT accessible by taxi’s. If it’s your 1st time in this region you will dropped off where there are guys with trollies who want to charge you kings random to take your luggage to the hotel, which is. 5 minute cobbled narrow streets away. If you use them barter them down. We got away with 5 euros. On leaving, the hotel will book you a cab, but again you need to walk to the circle where the other cabs park up. This area is not for anyone who is not good on their feet, or not fit enough to climb up all the stairs at the hotel. The hotel also runs its own cookery class, which is highly recommended. Book it with them. Several of the excursions, especially YSL do book well before you travel. Would I go back? Yes…

Beautiful property can be a little hard to find. The grounds were amazing and the rooms and pool were beautiful. We were a little disappointed because we had been traveling all day and the hotel restaurant while it had vegan options on the menu they didn’t have any meals so we had to go out. Other than that great service and a beautiful place to stay. I’d stay there if we went back to Marrakech
