Cottages are very poorly furnished and the restaurant is closed, no wifi
It was a bummer, I wanted to stay there for a few months but seeing the molded cabinets in the cottage and the roaches, the dirt from the last visitor still in the bathroom, the poorly furnitured cottage (no place to hang your clothes, no shelves, no table, just a sofa bed to sit on which was very dirty, dirty bins, garbage around the cottage) I decided to look for a better place. The views are stunning and when you like basic you are at the right place, but then you overpay! There are better places to stay on Siquijor Island. The restaurant which was open when I checked out the place was closed and there was no wifi available. The place is run by 2 people that obviously do not work well together when it comes to hospitality. As does the staff which was very unwelcoming,

Not what it could and should be
I was disappointed by Belle's. Although the premises looks amazing (like the pictures) it is very poorly maintained. A lot of things are broken or dirty. Upon arrival they were fixing the hot shower for us in room 2 (as the review before me states, the hot shower didn't work there). When they were finished they just gave us the keys without further information which I think is not great service. Room 2 was full of ants, and the sink and fan did not work. It was also not clean with leftovers from the previous guest and a lot of dust and hair. We went to room 3 where everything was working except for the hot shower. Apparentely they only fixed the hot shower in room 2 and room 1 and 3 do not have hot showers. Besides the hot shower room 3 is okay. It's spacious, but again it was not very clean and after a few days we had several cockroaches in the room. They killed one for us and when I walked out of the door it was just lying there in the grass... The service overall was not very good. The girls are friendly, but you have to go out and search them to ask for anything. Sometimes I even felt awkward to ask for a beer or something, because I had to walk in a room where they were sitting or they were taking selfies in the bar etc. Don't expect much of the pool table either, it is in very bad shape. As pretty much everything. The food and shakes are decent. I expected the beach to be rocky, because you can see this in the pictures. However, it was also full of garbage. The nice thing is that you can literally walk into the sea and go diving and/or snorkelling there. But I heard that's pretty much anywhere in Siquijor. Another thing which I am really disappointed about is that after the girls cleaned our room several pieces of clothing were missing, which I was wearing the day before. They searched the whole premises with me, but it was nowhere to be found. I just don't understand how this is possible? Normally Tripadvisor advises me well, but in this case I was very disappointed. I heard from other people who live on the island that there has been a change of ownership a while ago which might explain the different experience. I would not recommend anyone to go here, as I've heard there are much nicer places on Siquijor to stay. It is a shame, because the place has a lot of potential if it's properly maintained and with good service.

It was okay
We were promised an affordable room with hot/cold shower about a stone's throw from the beach, but there are things they don't tell you. It wasn't all that bad but let me just break this down to three things: The good: Rooms are cozy and affordable, with a nice bed, aircon, tv and hot shower (more on this later). There's also a bar and restaurant that serves meals and snacks and cocktails. There's a big hut overlooking the ocean where you can have drinks and watch the sunset. Staff is nice and friendly and they let you rent a motorbike (just 300 for 24 hours!). The bad: We were put in Room 2 where the hot shower wasn't working. On our 1st night we decided to report this to the staff, and the next day, after a few negotiations they agreed to transfer us to room 3. The cable tv wasn't working there (I had wanted to catch the evening news) but it wasn't a big deal though. The cottages are near the beach, yes, but it's really rocky and all your beach bumming dreams will be crushed. The ugly: The first time we reported the broken shower heater, the staff assured us an electrician would fix it. When we arrived in the afternoon, the water coming out was still ice cold... not good when you had gone around the island all day on a motorbike. We requested to be transferred to the next room but they declined. Later, I personally talked with one of the staff (a girl) who said the electrician failed to come that day. I asked for the manager or whoever was in charge, and the girl sort of called her from upstairs and they talked in their dialect. She calls another girl who says they're in charge so when I asked if we could be transferred to another room where the heater works they weren't sure what to do. I asked for the manager but apparently she wasn't around(upstairs, I guess). I had to explain why we needed the heater and she said she'll see what she can do. After about 15 minutes we were told we can transfer to the room next door. I'm grateful they transferred us, but I wasn't sure why the person in charge suddenly went out of town from just being called upstairs in the time it took me to say "please."

Wonderful and peaceful place in front of the ocean
This guesthouse is a charming and peaceful place with wonderful views. Beth, the owner is a great person and she has wonderful staff who is always there for you. You can feel she manages the place with lots of passion and love and cares about it. We rented one of the aircon/fan rooms that are very clean, spacious and comfortable. Other possibilities are the Nipa Huts (very basic, but cheap) or the big bungalows if you stay longer. The food they serve is delicious and affordable. As we liked the place very much, we had at least one meal a day in the restaurant and were never disappointed. You can also rent motorbikes and go snorkeling in front of the place. However, there is no sandbeach; it is rocky and there are corals all around. For the sand, you can go to Coco Beach which is a 10-15' walk down the road. Great snorkeling there too as it is a marine sanctuary.
