Staff are very kind, very approachable, the place is accessible to the nearest tourist spot. They were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early at like 7 AM. We got to the hotel super early and I didn't want to wait, so this was a big plus. The service was exceptional as well. Would definitely send a friend there. I highly recommend this hotel 👍.

We booked a month before as we know December is at the height of the peak season. We want a room with a veranda and the view. We were initially given a corner room with just a window but got transferred once our preferred room was available. We may be out of the hotel most of the day but a room with much space where you can view the weekend festivities right outside your terrace is very much welcome. We didn't mind the noise at all. Been here for 3 years in a row but will always come back for more. Kudos to the team for a chill happy time every time we are here.

We have a good stay in this hotel the location is great because everything is just walking distance like burnham park, the Cathedral and the market even the bus terminals are within walking distance also so you will not need to hire a taxi or grab car and save additional money. The hotel staffs also are very accommodating and friendly also the guards and they have also a free breakfast to add additional comfort because most hotels nearby don't offer free breakfast. The hotel facilities are not that good but it's just a very minor issue since it's not that pricey (so don't expect a 4 * or 5 * hotel facilities) after all it's not the hotel that you come to visit Baguio but still, this hotel is recommendable. Overall we had a nice experience in this hotel and if we come back to Baguio we will still stay here.

Prime Hotel was very accommodating. Although it was a last-minute booking made by my Aunt in the U.S., but it went very smoothly. Thank you Prime Hotel and Expedia for such a wonderful experience. We will stay again. See you next December in many years to come. We will recommend this place and Expedia.

we returned after 22 years to Baguio and the Prime, and I was greeted by name at check-in! location is still excellent within Baguio. Near Burnham Park. The staff could not be nicer! the free breakfast was great. rooms are not small. we asked for a Cathedral-facing small-balcony room. (the Park facing side is quieter.) rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. tremendous amount of recent construction in Baguio. in some ways the city is unrecognizable. lots of newer hotels, but I doubt there are any better situated to access restaurants and nightlife. taxis within seconds at the front door. supermarket in the basement. we were here looking at Universities, and the Prime was a good choice for us. complete with free working wifi, working cable flatscreen tv, and newspapers under the door. my only suggestion is add a small refrigerator in the rooms. The Prime really is a bargain.

Your Travel Guide to Baguio City as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Baguio City from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For the most convenient booking, book flight tickets through Traveloka and compare fares across major airlines.

Traveling to Baguio City from Manila is a popular route for many Filipinos, and buses are the most common and budget-friendly option. Several bus companies operate from terminals in Cubao, Quezon City, and Pasay. The journey typically takes between 6 to 8 hours, depending on traffic conditions and the specific route. Fares usually range from PHP 700 to PHP 1,000 for regular or executive services.

For those who prefer to fly, the nearest major airports are Clark International Airport (CRK) and Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) in Manila. From these airports, you can take a bus directly to Baguio City. Booking your flight in advance, especially during peak seasons, can help you secure better prices. Consider checking Traveloka for flight deals to make your travel more economical.

Driving to Baguio City offers flexibility, especially if you are traveling with family or a group. The primary route from Manila involves taking the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and then the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) towards Baguio. The total travel time by car is around 4 to 6 hours, with toll fees varying but generally adding up to approximately PHP 1,000-1,500 for a round trip.

Best Time to Visit Baguio City

The ideal time to visit Baguio City for most Filipino travelers is during the dry season, which runs from November to May. During these months, the weather is cooler and less prone to heavy rainfall, making it perfect for exploring the city's outdoor attractions. The months of December to February are particularly popular due to the Christmas season and the cooler temperatures, often dropping to as low as 10-15 degrees Celsius.

The shoulder months, such as November and February to May, offer a good balance of pleasant weather and fewer crowds compared to the peak holiday season. If you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere and potentially lower accommodation rates, these periods are excellent choices. However, be prepared for cooler evenings even during these times.

The rainy season, from June to October, brings frequent showers and occasional typhoons. While the city can be quite atmospheric during this time, outdoor activities might be limited. If you don't mind the rain and are looking for a more tranquil experience with fewer tourists, visiting during the early or late parts of the rainy season can still be rewarding, provided you pack accordingly.

Food and Dining Near Baguio City — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

Baguio City is renowned for its unique culinary scene, blending Cordilleran flavors with popular Filipino dishes. One must-try is the Pinikpikan, a traditional Cordilleran dish made with chicken or pork, often prepared by beating the meat to tenderize it and enhance its flavor. It’s a hearty and savory soup that offers a taste of the region's heritage.

Another local specialty is the Strawberry Taho, a variation of the classic silken tofu dessert. Baguio is famous for its strawberries, and this treat combines the soft tofu with fresh strawberry syrup and sago pearls. You'll find vendors selling this delightful snack throughout the city, especially near tourist spots. It’s a refreshing and sweet indulgence.

For those who love savory snacks, try the Ube Kinampay, a purple yam jam that is a local delicacy. It’s often served with pandesal or as a filling for pastries. The sweet, earthy flavor of the ube is distinct and makes for a wonderful breakfast or snack. You can find this in local markets and bakeries.

Don't leave Baguio without trying their version of the classic Filipino dish, Sisig. While variations exist across the country, Baguio's sisig often incorporates local ingredients and a unique preparation style. It’s a sizzling, flavorful dish best enjoyed with a side of rice. Many restaurants in the city center offer delicious renditions of this popular pulutan.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Baguio City

Baguio City is known for its friendly and respectful local culture. When interacting with locals, a polite demeanor and a smile go a long way. It's customary to greet elders with respect. While English and Tagalog are widely understood, learning a few basic phrases in Ilocano, the dominant local dialect, can be appreciated.

Safety in Baguio City is generally good, but like any urban area, it's wise to remain aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded places like markets and bus terminals. Keep your valuables secure and avoid displaying expensive items openly. In case of emergencies, the local police hotline is 911, and the Baguio City Police Office can be reached at (074) 442-2170.

For navigating the city and staying informed, several apps can be useful. Google Maps is essential for directions and finding places. Ride-hailing apps like Grab are available for convenient transportation, though local taxis are also plentiful and generally affordable. For weather updates, especially during the rainy season, apps like AccuWeather or the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) app are recommended.

When visiting religious sites like the Baguio Cathedral, dress modestly out of respect. Also, be mindful of local customs when taking photographs, especially of people.

Very accessible and cheaper compared to others, though it's obviously an old hotel. It includes breakfast, but I checked in for how many times in this hotel and they serve the same breakfast menu again and again: tocino, bangus, longganisa. I hope they will have another menu that's non-pork for us Muslims. The hotel staff was nice. Another problem is that the CR exhaust fan was not working.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. However the facility was old and the shower was very moldy and the spaces between the tiles were already black from dirt. Pressure water pressure was very low as well and well found it hard to shower properly. The room wasn't well lit as well because of some busted lights.

Apart from the sheets not changing on my 3rd night, I was disappointed during breakfast time. I ordered boneless bangus and longanisa. After 30mins, it wasn't served yet. I followed it up and the person in charge [in yellow uniform] asked if I changed tables because my breakfast was served at another table. Quite insulting actually. I have been booking a Prime Hotel for 90% of all my stays in Baguio and this is the first time this happened. I ended up just eating the longanisa meal they served. Wasn't able to wait for the other since it's taking them ages to prepare.

My go to hotel in Baguio because of the location. This time however maybe because of the holiday, they're not able to clean the bathroom well, change towels, and replenish complimentary water and biscuits. Better to call them and ensure that everything is cleaned and replenished on day 2 to avoid disappointments. It just so happen that I am gone all throughout the day and only in the hotel at night only to find that only the beddings were fixed. Not even changed too. OJT results.

We understand that the hotel is old so it is okay for us. The only problem is that the room really smells bad, I am not sure what it is may be cigarette. Other is considerable knowing it is a 2star hotel. Its location is the best.

At first no space for waiting area. We arrived at earlier than check in time so we need to wait until 2pm as check in time but they don't have enough space to stay in the lobby. Second is elevator is not working so we need to use the stairs going to 5th floor. Lastly food for breakfast as free is not that good they serve cold one and only longanisa egg, tocino egg and bangus egg is available. But overall good for its price around 2250 for one night.

Please let me clarify that we find our stay awesome mainly because of the staff and the hotel 's location. Despite the room being old and the amenities very limited, these did not hold us from enjoying the place. We just hope that the management take their time to improve the place to offer more value for money experience.

Love the accessibility! We want to tire ourselves when in Baguio so it ' s a good thing it sits at the heart of session so we can pack up early. We had trouble with the heater tho 😔 And our request to be in a room with balcony wasn't given but maybe it was reserved before us.

Forgot to take photos but we got the room for 2 pax with breakfast through application for only 1,400. Such a bang for the buck considering its location. We got the fan room beside the window. It's a basic hotel but the staff can be at par with 5 star hotels :)

Overall we had a nice experience in this hotel and if we come back to Baguio we will still stay here.

bad hotel, water heater not working. There are no slippers in the room, but when asked to assist in booking a car, they refused. Never come back
