Everytime we visit boracay we always stay at boracay courtyard/travelodge. And it has always been a good experience for me and my family. Everyone is nice and accommodating, they are all polite. And just a few steps away from the beach, nearyby everything. From the talipapa to the souvenir shops, and sari-sari stores where you can buy cheap foods for low budget travelers.

Your Travel Guide to Boracay Island as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Boracay Island from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

Reaching Boracay Island is an adventure in itself, with several convenient options for Filipino travelers. The most popular route from Manila and other major cities is by air. Flights to Caticlan Airport (MPH) are the quickest, with travel time around 1 hour and fares typically ranging from PHP 3,000 to PHP 7,000 for a round trip, depending on the airline and booking time. Airlines like Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific offer regular flights.

Alternatively, you can fly into Kalibo International Airport (KLO). Flights here are often cheaper, with fares sometimes as low as PHP 2,000 to PHP 5,000 round trip. However, the journey from Kalibo to Caticlan Jetty Port takes about 1.5 to 2 hours by van or bus. From Caticlan Jetty Port, a 15-minute boat ride brings you to Boracay Island. Planning your book flight to either airport is the first step.

For those who prefer land travel, buses are available from major terminals in Metro Manila (like Cubao and Pasay) to Caticlan Jetty Port. The journey is long, typically 10 to 12 hours, with fares ranging from PHP 1,000 to PHP 1,800 one way. This option is best for travelers on a very tight budget who don't mind the extended travel time.

Best Time to Visit Boracay Island

Boracay Island enjoys a tropical climate, making it a year-round destination, but the best time to visit is generally during the dry season, from November to April. This period offers sunny skies, calm seas, and lower humidity, perfect for beach activities and water sports. The peak season falls between December and February, when the weather is most pleasant, but expect larger crowds and higher prices.

The "Amihan" season (November to May) brings gentle northeast winds, ideal for swimming and sunbathing. The "Habagat" season (June to October) sees stronger winds and occasional rainfall, which can be great for windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts, but may disrupt other beach activities. For a balance of good weather and fewer crowds, consider visiting during the shoulder months of November or May.

Food and Dining Near Boracay Travelodge Beach Resort — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

No trip to Boracay is complete without indulging in the local flavors. A must-try is Kinilaw, the Filipino version of ceviche, featuring fresh raw fish marinated in vinegar, onions, ginger, and chili. You'll find excellent versions at local eateries and restaurants around Station 2, often prepared with the day's catch. It’s a refreshing appetizer that perfectly complements the tropical heat.

Another Filipino favorite you should seek out is La Paz Batchoy, a hearty noodle soup with pork, shrimp, and vegetables. While traditionally from Iloilo, many Boracay eateries offer their own delicious take on this comforting dish, perfect for a satisfying meal. Look for smaller, local carinderias for an authentic taste.

Seafood lovers will be in their element. Freshly grilled fish, prawns, and squid are abundant. Many restaurants allow you to pick your seafood and have it grilled to perfection. Don't forget to try Halo-Halo, the ultimate Filipino dessert, a delightful mix of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, and topped with leche flan and ube ice cream. It’s the perfect way to cool down after a day in the sun.

For a taste of Boracay's culinary scene, explore the numerous dining options within D'Mall and along the beachfront. From casual street food stalls offering grilled corn and skewers to more upscale restaurants serving international cuisine, there's something to satisfy every palate and budget. Many establishments are just a short walk from Boracay Travelodge Beach Resort.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Boracay Island

Boracay Island is known for its friendly locals and relaxed island culture. While the island is generally safe, it's always wise to be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas and at night. Keep your valuables secure and avoid displaying expensive items openly. The local authorities are present and visible, contributing to a secure environment for tourists.

In case of emergencies, remember that the island has medical facilities and police assistance. It's a good idea to save local emergency numbers on your phone. Respect local customs and traditions; dress modestly when visiting religious sites or local communities away from the main tourist areas. Always ask for permission before taking photos of people.

To enhance your travel experience, consider downloading a few essential apps. A reliable map application will help you navigate the island. Ride-hailing apps are not as prevalent as in major cities, but local tricycle booking apps or services might be available. A currency converter app can be useful for managing your budget, and a translation app can help if you encounter basic phrases you're unfamiliar with.

apparently this is hotel is very cheap. if you are looking for a cheap accommodation this is a wow find. we stayed here for 5 days for 7 pax with around 13k for 2 beds. it is near to the shore and outside of the hotel is the talipapa for fresh seafoods. pros: CR has hot and cold machine and has a bidet. hotel is very cheap and has a free breakfast for 2pax per room in La carmela. near to the shore. outside the hotel is a souvenir shop. cons: rooms is very small. there is no table or chairs, just 2 bed with no space in between. TV is not flatscreen (old tv on the 90's). CR has broken tiles. Hotel looks like not well maintained because there is a lot of cob web in the chandelier and ceiling. I felt like the towel and the bedsheet are not that clean (just make sure to ask for a new towel everyday and constantly ask for a change in beddings). the water in the shower in the morning doesn't smell good but this is reasonable maybe because to sanitize the water everyday. hotel area is smelly because it is beside talipapa so this is understandable. all in all, if you are not maarte and wanted to save money for accommodation, this is one for you.

I am a travel agent. I always use app for my hotel bookings and always boracay travelodge for the hotel stays of my clients. I made more than 10 successful bookings. This time, it was me and my family became their guests on March 3-5. The booking was made on August 2019. But I ended up upgrading because the 2 rooms the were assigned to us are good for 2 guests only. The room is described as good for 4 pax. We were 8. The receptionist had asked us to transfer to another room not just once, but for up to 4 times. Imagine, we have to move and bring all our bags and hang clothes, after few minutes, transfer again. The 4th time of transfer was located on the third floor. I was just skeptical because the kids might fall by usingn the stairs. That's the time I had decided to pay more to get the room at the ground. Very disappointing.

they offer affordable accomodations! but you get what you paid for. the hotel was situated near Nigi Nigi and Hennan the Palm. this is an honest review and let me start what I like. location is good close to the beach and offer affordable stay And free pool access to la carmela start's from 9am to 8pm but the room for improvement is the oppurtunity of this property since they are sister hotel of La carmela. they do have incidental deposit of 2000 which is really huge in the star rating that they have which they don't have that Good amenities. television was so outdated they only provide soap no complementary 2 bottles of water inside the room which required in the room a per hospitality industry standard. no hair dyer no washing area for those have sands on the foot they don't even have cups or glass inside the room. yes they have a breakfast but it was a set breakfast during my stay it was adobo and egg and a cup of rice no fruits or vege even so if you want to avail the buffet breakfast add 130 php they don't have beach towel as well and if its raining the area is flooded so you don't have a choice but to cross the flooded road to rich the hotel. some staff is not friendly I don't find them welcoming! I cant really sleep well noise was so disgusting during night I don't know if its the aircon or the electric pump that they have for water. the hotel was okay but needs improvement and renovations specially the lobby there rooms it was so outdated.

It was good.. the staff are nice and accommodating, it is a decent hotel, the location is not bad, over all you get what you paid for.. the only bad thing is that they don’t have a smoking area.. smoking is prohibited inside the hotel, even in the verandas, but there’s no designated smoking area..

It's ok to have a room in the 3rd floor room 314. No breakfast is good and la carmela, just at the mall when you go there, but it's close to the sea walk in the distance. so far so good it's ok to stay nmin. thanks

Good hotel with full safety. Nothing like a nice view but good service for the price and quiet location Food are ok and there is a massage shop, sending money, changing money, and small market just in front ! It has been the second time for me at this hotel and I still do not regret it .

The place was good to stay and the room was convenient to use. The staff are accommodating. It was good that we have free breakfast at La Carmella and a pool pass. Overall, it was an amazing experience

Okay price, okay stay. There's room for improvement. Pros: - Walking distance to White Beach and D'Talipapa - Affordable accommodation - Set breakfast is okay - Room attendant is okay - Free soap only Cons: - Place has no signage so we had to ask around - Set breakfast is only good for 2 pax - Deposit worth P2,000 is over considering that most of the items are almost broken just like the bidet holder - Water dispenser is dirty Suggestions: - I hope you can include free breakfast for a deluxe good for 4 pax room instead of just 2 set breakfast for 2 pax - Include WiFi in all rooms or at least the lobby area - Clean the water dispenser - Spray anti-mosquito because we have a mosquito in the room and we're wondering where it came from - Please put up a signage or update geotagging in Google

Hotel cannot be reach by their publish contact number. Rotating brownout that would cause you some sleep at night. Not that good breakfast and not considerate of guest request. Consider other hotel if I were you

Although my room was for two people, only one was allowed to stay. I had to pay double the price for staying in my room.

apparently this is hotel is very cheap. if you are looking for a cheap accommodation this is a wow find. we stayed here for 5 days for 7 pax with around 13k for 2 beds. it is near to the shore and outside of the hotel is the talipapa for fresh seafoods. pros: CR has hot and cold machine and has a bidet. hotel is very cheap and has a free breakfast for 2pax per room in La carmela. near to the shore. outside the hotel is a souvenir shop. cons: rooms is very small. there is no table or chairs, just 2 bed with no space in between.

You get what you paid for.. positive: it is decent, the room is clean, the location is not too far from the beach, it is secured, the staff are nice and accommodating.. negative: there’s no designated smoking area, our tv is jurassic, you need to get the free breakfast from the sister company which is almost 300 meters away..
