My son and I had a wonderful staycation at BSA Twin Tower. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful to the guest. I could say that we enjoyed our staycation. Wish we could have stayed longer. Indeed, we achieved our goal to relax and to bond. Looking forward to another staycation at BSA Twin Tower.

I reserved a twin room for an overnight stay with my mom. Upon check in, we were given an upgrade without me asking and got a bigger room with a cute and nice dining table where my mom and I enjoyed our coffee. During the breakfast buffet, the staff were so attentive and offered to serve my mom who is a senior citizen instead of having her stand up and get her own food. Although we were initially confused where to check in/out, Tower A or B, overall, the stay was well worth it and we will surely come back.

Your Travel Guide to Pasig as a Filipino Traveler

Reaching Pasig City, and by extension Ortigas Center where BSA Twin Towers Ortigas is located, is a straightforward endeavor for most Filipino travelers. If you are coming from within Metro Manila, various public transportation options abound. Buses and jeepneys regularly ply routes that pass through Pasig, with terminals and stops conveniently located. For those coming from further afield in Luzon, buses are a common and economical choice.

For instance, from Baguio City, expect a bus journey of approximately 5-6 hours, with fares typically ranging from PHP 500 to PHP 800. From Northern Luzon, like Laoag, the travel time can extend to 9-10 hours, with ticket prices around PHP 800 to PHP 1,200.

For travelers coming from the Visayas or Mindanao, flying into Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila is the most practical option. Major airlines like Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia offer frequent flights from cities such as Cebu City and Davao City. A round-trip flight from Cebu to Manila can range from approximately PHP 3,000 to PHP 7,000, depending on the season and how far in advance you book flight tickets.

From NAIA, you can then take a taxi, ride-sharing service, or airport bus to reach Pasig. Driving to Pasig from these regions is possible but involves a very long bus journey, often exceeding 24 hours, making air travel the preferred method for most.

Once you arrive in Metro Manila, whether by air or bus, reaching Pasig is relatively simple. If you land at NAIA, you can take a taxi or a Grab car directly to Ortigas Center, which should take about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on traffic, costing around PHP 300-500. If you arrive at a bus terminal in Cubao or Pasay, you can easily find connecting buses or taxis heading towards Ortigas.

The MRT Line 3, with the Shaw Boulevard station being close to BSA Twin Towers Ortigas, also provides an efficient way to reach the area from other parts of the metro.

Best Time to Visit Pasig

Pasig City, like much of Metro Manila, experiences a tropical climate characterized by two main seasons: the dry season and the wet season. The dry season typically runs from November to April, offering generally sunny days and lower humidity levels. This period is often considered the peak tourist season due to the pleasant weather, making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the city. Temperatures during these months usually range from 25°C to 33°C.

For travelers who prefer to avoid the heaviest rains and enjoy more consistent sunshine, visiting between December and February would be optimal.

The wet season, from May to October, brings higher humidity and more frequent rainfall, often in the form of heavy, short-lived downpours, particularly in the afternoon. While this season might see fewer crowds and potentially lower accommodation prices, it can also mean that some outdoor plans might need to be adjusted due to the weather. However, for budget-conscious travelers or those who don't mind occasional rain, this period can still be very enjoyable.

The lush greenery that results from the rain also adds a different kind of beauty to the urban landscape. The shoulder months, like November and May, can offer a good balance, with fewer crowds than the peak dry season but generally more settled weather than the height of the wet season.

For most Filipino travelers looking to explore Pasig and its surrounding areas, the dry season, particularly from November to February, is often recommended. This period offers the most comfortable weather for sightseeing, shopping, and enjoying the city's attractions. However, if you are seeking a more relaxed pace and potentially better deals, the shoulder months or even the early part of the wet season can still provide a rewarding travel experience.

Food and Dining Near Pasig — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

Pasig City, and Ortigas Center in particular, is a culinary melting pot, offering a vast array of dining experiences that cater to every palate. For Filipino travelers, exploring the local food scene is an integral part of the travel experience. One dish that is a staple and a source of national pride is **Adobo**.

While variations exist across the country, a well-made chicken or pork adobo, simmered in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and peppercorns, is a comforting and flavorful introduction to Filipino cuisine. You can find excellent versions in many local eateries and even in some of the more upscale restaurants in the area.

Another must-try is **Sinigang**, a sour and savory soup that is a beloved comfort food. Typically made with tamarind broth, it can feature pork, beef, fish, or shrimp, along with a medley of vegetables like kangkong, radish, and tomatoes. The tangy broth is perfect for cutting through the richness of other dishes and is especially satisfying on a cooler evening or after a long day.

Many restaurants in Pasig offer their own take on this classic, so be sure to sample it.

For those who enjoy grilled specialties, **Inihaw na Liempo** (grilled pork belly) is a popular choice. Marinated and then grilled to perfection, the crispy edges and succulent interior make it a delightful treat. It’s often served with a side of soy-vinegar dipping sauce. You’ll find this dish readily available in carinderias (local eateries) and restaurants alike, offering an authentic taste of Filipino barbecue culture.

No exploration of Filipino food would be complete without mentioning **Lumpia**. These spring rolls come in various forms, from fresh lumpia with vegetables and a sweet peanut sauce to fried lumpia filled with minced meat and vegetables. They are a versatile snack or appetizer, and trying different types can be a fun culinary adventure. Many food stalls and restaurants in the shopping malls and local markets offer delicious lumpia.

Finally, for dessert lovers, **Halo-Halo** is an iconic Filipino treat that you absolutely must try. This refreshing dessert is a colorful concoction of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, leche flan, and ube (purple yam) ice cream. It’s the perfect way to cool down and indulge your sweet tooth. You can find this popular dessert in many Filipino restaurants and dessert shops throughout Pasig.

Exploring the food courts within SM Megamall, just a short walk from BSA Twin Towers Ortigas, will provide you with numerous opportunities to sample these and many other Filipino culinary delights.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Pasig

Filipino culture is known for its warmth, hospitality, and strong sense of community. When visiting Pasig, you'll likely encounter friendly locals who are generally helpful and welcoming. It's customary to show respect to elders and authority figures. A simple "po" and "opo" (yes, sir/ma'am) when speaking to older individuals or those in positions of authority goes a long way.

While English is widely spoken, learning a few basic Tagalog phrases like "Salamat" (Thank you) and "Magandang araw" (Good day) can be appreciated.

Safety in Pasig, as in any urban center, requires a degree of awareness. Ortigas Center is generally considered a safe area, especially within the well-lit commercial districts and shopping malls. However, it's always wise to be mindful of your surroundings, especially in crowded places, to avoid petty theft like pickpocketing. Keep your valuables secure and avoid displaying expensive items unnecessarily.

When using taxis or ride-sharing services, ensure you are using reputable providers and confirm the driver and vehicle details match the app. For medical emergencies, Cardinal Santos Medical Center is nearby, and local police hotlines are available for immediate assistance.

For a smoother travel experience in Pasig and Metro Manila, several apps can be incredibly useful. **Grab** is essential for booking rides (cars and motorcycles), food delivery, and even grocery shopping, making it a versatile tool for getting around and meeting your needs. **Google Maps** is indispensable for navigation, helping you find your way through the city streets and plan public transport routes.

For communication, **WhatsApp** or **Viber** are widely used for messaging and calls, especially if you plan to stay in touch with people back home or with local contacts. Having these apps installed on your smartphone will significantly enhance your convenience and ability to navigate the city effectively.

The hotel is conveniently in a strategic location: close to the Ortigas MRT station, SM Mega Mall, & ADB HQ. But, require a pest control since pest found in the room at nights.

I booked four rooms and unfortunately all four rooms were infested with roaches since day 1 of our check-in. Trouble with the wifi also, sometimes it disconnects on its own, then the aircon is not fully maintained in one of the rooms. The good thing about the rooms are the huge space, the view, and the bed.

We are happy about the cleanliness of our room and professionalism of the employees, there 's only one thing that didn't meet my expectation which is the availability of the other pools, my kids and I couldn't swim again, we checked-in last Feb, it was the same problem. But we'll definitely book again in the future. Thank you.

We have many cockroaches in our room. I stayed on the 39th floor. While going down the elevator, we stopped on the lower floors and when it opened, I also saw a cockroach. I think the whole building is infested.

I am not aware that a company ID is one of their requirements upon check in (w/c I don’t have with me). They should have included it on their policy. Also, I did not expect that they will collect the same Php 300 parking fee for a motor cycle.

Prior to checking in, I contacted the property on the number provided by Traveloka to request for an earlier check in time but to no avail. Upon check in: 1. First room we were given to has a non functioning AC. 2. Requested a transfer and got a room with a dirty dining table, damaged kitchen cabinet and a couch that had a dried **m stain. 3. Second transfer, decent room until we had to kill 2 roaches. 4. Everything requested took more than half an hour to be attended to Frontdesk manager was very helpful though, tried her best to assist.

The hotel is very close to the same supermall and several other nice malls. We stayed here for 5 days 4 nights. In the room on tower B on the 12th floor. If the shower is broken, we can be tolerant. Breakfast is all pork, we can still be tolerant too. AC is not too cold and noisy, we can still be tolerant. There is one thing that is very uncomfortable for us. on the second night we stayed, the smell of fried salted fish was very strong! The hotel sent a house clerk to spray air freshener. I tried to say the same as the duty manager so that residents who cook the fish open the bedroom window and turn on the wind waster. But they couldn't do it because one of the hotel owners cooked the fish. We thought that only Thursday night was the occupant cooking the smelly fish, but on the 4th night we were. The incident repeated and the hotel did not dare to reprimand the owner.

It is not really a proper hotel. The lift will take at least 3 to 7 minutes to open. The staff are not that accommodating. It is noisy as well. I would not ever recommend this place if you want a convenient, quiet and conducive place to stay.
