Stardust Beach Hotel
One of the best hotel that we’ve been, it was a pleasant stay for 3 days and 2 nights and very worth it. The staff are courteous and very attentive to our needs. The room was spacious just enough to accomodate us. Our kids love to swim in their pool because of the attractive lights under the water. A relaxing place to stay here in matabungkay. Near for grocery store like alfamart and 7’11 etc. Very nice for families. Convenient to the beach just 2 minutes walk, food were delicious especially chicken adobo and tapsilog. Highly recommended to everyone who visiting Batangas. ❤️ Thank you Stardust Beach Hotel. We had so much fun. You’re so awesome! We surely come back here.

El Pueblo de Hermano by Cocotel
We booked 2 deluxe twin rooms for 8 pax at Cocotel El Pueblo Hermano, Batangas for a night on Dec 25-26. They had a good-looking place but very low quality of service. Let me share some comments regarding our experience. Pros: - instagrammable view same as published photos -rooms are spacious -beach is rich in marine life (starfish, mangroves, shellfish, sea grapes, crabs) Cons: -no wifi which is ok so guests can unplug -no hot water in the CR during our time (website says hot and cold water are available) -plenty of flies inside the rooms. I also found two dead red ants (antik) wrapped inside one of the bath towels -limited food choices in the restaurant -hidden charges (LGU environmental fee and unannounced corkage fee if you will bring food) -hotel employees were not in uniform -terrible front desk service, not 24/7 We arrived at the hotel late at around 4pm. From the main gate, no one stood to greet and guide us to the parking area and front desk. The receptionist gave us the keys to the room without asking for our hotel voucher or any identification card. No reminders whatsoever. No one assisted us to the rooms or offered help with our baggage. After we drop our bags inside the rooms, we went back to the front desk but the receptionist already left. So for our concerns, we had to ask one of the employees manning the kitchen. The next day, when we checked out to hand over the keys, the receptionist suddenly charged us a corkage fee of P500. She already assumed we brought in food from outside without confirming with us because she said we did not order from their restaurant. We are ok to pay the amount but it is not fair that she did not inform us about this rule beforehand during check-in and was not apologetic at all. The hotel manager was standing beside her. Eventually, I agreed to pay so we can already leave. The manager received the payment but did not issue a receipt so I had to remind him to provide one. It is not enough that the place is instagrammable to entice and keep guests. They should really improve their service.

Matabungkay Beach Hotel
-air conditioner is a bit small for the size of the room making it a little warm inside the villa. (twas cold at night tho)-TV was placed awkwardly; The wall blocks the view from the bed. (not too big of a deal though)- the shower is so old that the water only goes out in a few holes. (makes shower a challenge)-foam and beddings are not as nice as the other resorts of its kind but it will do the job to have a comfortable sleep.-they lack light. Yes, it is a bit dark, bahay kubo or bali style. Nonetheless, I would still recommend the sunset villa for it is spacious, comfortable, and its location in the resort. The staff did not fail me as well! (the staff is always a big factor on how I like service-provided businesses, and I would say they are one of the bestest.) giving us a ride to the doorstep of our villa with their own “tuktuk”, providing me a wifi repeater after I was not able to connect to their internet, how they accomodated requests in the restaurant; And speaking about the restaurant, their food is great (a bit pricy though)! Though we only tried the food in the free breakfast buffet, there were a variety of options and they all taste good. The outdoor amenities are also worthy to mention, the swimming pools, billiards (tho I wasn't able to try it as I didn't get to find the balls haha, but you can try to ask), playground, outdoor chess, and the private side of the beach. How I wish theres a resort like this in boracay, with the same price.*I was not able to take pictures of our villa, but the provided pictures in traveloka are accurate. You may also refer to the resorts media for more insights. P. S. This is an honest review solely based on our experience, and no, I am not paid/forced by the resort to do this.
