We enjoyed our stay here at Matabungkay Beach Resort. Staff were all nice and cheerful. Food at their restaurant was also good and not that expensive compared to other resorts. The room was clean and big. Location was fine. It’s just that the beach is high tide at the moment of our stay so we barely went there to swim because we have our daughter with us. Overall ratings from me to this resort is 5 out of 5. We will be back here next time!
Over all, our stay was good. But not so much a fan of the food.
Beach is not good. Didn't' have time to swim.
their beds were uncleaned. I got bitten by bed bugs and my hand is very much infected until now. its bloated
Great! Goods not too expensive.
This is a spur of the moment trip for the whole family and I am definitely thankful that I discovered Traveloka. Even if it's a long weekend, I still got the rooms in affordable prices. Surely, there will be more trips booked in Traveloka. Matabungkay Beach has been my family's go to trip way back in the 90's and I am glad that they have slowly renovated to what it is now. We were actually amazed when we arrived because the resort is gated and secured. The lobby is classy and the whole area is just massive. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot but we didn't feel cramped when we were at the beach or even at the pools. I also loved that there were citronella plants all over. No mosquitoes around, yey! Just don't expect anything grand in the beach. It's coral filled and the shore is just about a meter or so. The water's very clear though. There are a lot of fishes swimming. There are some parts of the beach that is very sandy. But when you walk further, there will be plants rooted in the sand. But if your like to walk in the water and go as far as you could from the shore, it's best to do it during sunset. The sky is so clear and the water is just calf deep. You could also enjoy the water by renting a banca, a kayak or a 6 seater manual boat, all these for really cheap prices. The rooms are clean and spacious. But the water in the toilet needs to be improved. And the most special thing about Matabungkay Beach Resort is their staff. Everyone is just so friendly and accommodating. We noticed they were undermanned but we didn't feel any hostility or tiresomeness from the employees. Best service anyone could ask for! We plan to go back with more family members and try their Suites. See you!
My family is. very satisfied in our vacation.

Family Place
It's an old resort, which is obvious with the architecture, but we enjoyed our stay as we had a huge room with 2 bedrooms, a living room, an extra room and a spacious veranda area that is overlooking the pool. The pool was big and nice and despite having a lot of guests, it was not crowded. They have a restaurant that serves good food, but with hotel prices. Their spa is also nice to try, which we did. However, the beach area is not nice that we had to rent a boat to get to another area. Just beware of the boatmen who offer their services as they tend to charge a lot (they'll charge you for an hour if you go beyond even 5 mins - they include in the counting the travel time). You also have to make sure that your door is locked because we experienced someone who barged into our room with a kid in tow, asking if they can use the shower. Their location is at the far end of the beach area, which is far from all the noises and crown from other resorts. You'll feel the exclusivity of the place. Our overall experience was fine and we still consider staying in this resort.

Nice getaway
You'll feel like home during your stay here. The room - spacious and relaxing and I like the screened veranda where you can still see outside while keeping the privacy. Pools - very nice, 2 pools and 1 kiddie pool Wifi only available at the lobby, sometimes not strong data plan signal in the rooms. Water from showers is not that strong and you have to let it run for some time before the hot water comes out. Staff is friendly and always greets you with a smile. View is nice and calm from the shore. It's a resort that's great for families and company activities. Sand -kinda rough and painful barefoot but as you go deeper it gets finer. Low tide starts around 2pm so you can only enjoy a swim in the beach in the mornings. Many spots to hang out but I wish they had lounge chairs in front of the beach. Restaurant - pricey and there are dishes that are hits and misses. Sinigang na bangus tasted muddy so i skipped ordering seafood altogether after that (no salmon or tuna, also didnt see grilled food on the menu). The good ones: bistek tagalog, kalderetang kambing and their kaldereta pizza! (Eaten best when fresh from the oven) Lomi was delish! Average: bulanglang. Disappointment: salpicao beef not tender, their tuna pasta was missing olives as opposed to their description but still ok. Complimentary Breakfast is great (will miss the traditional hot choco!) Overall it's worth a weekend getaway.

I came here with my family last July. The resort is good for kids because of the wide area and the pool slide. The resort looks old and gives off a vibe that it is old. The beach looks murky but the sand is fine. I'd probably recommend this to groups who want to have a team building but there are other resorts in Batangas I'd rather stay in.

Nice and friendly
Nice accomodation, staff are top notch. Food is outstanding washed down with numerous beers. Pricing is good and the food is very nice and taste. Rooms are pleasant. Heating in the shower is not that good. But temperatures are hot so a cooler shower can be a relief. I definitely would go back.

Good resort
Pool : they have 2 pools, clean and big. About 4 feet deep i think Service : people around here are well trained HRM peeps. Nice Price : little bit pricey. We got our deluxe room for about 3700 Room : big and spacious. Beach : not the best beach. Just "meh" You can only swim when it's high tide. So better get up early. Resto and bar : great food! By the way the beach front of the hotel is so clean but the rest of the coastline. Not well maintained. Lot of seaweeds and trash. Brgy matabungkay should do something about that.
