I've been to Boracay 7 times, but this time it's more fulfilling because of the hotel. This bungalow is clean and very accessible to the beach. We go back and forth when swimming and in between tours. No hassle check in, no elevators, hallways, etc. Just the bungalow and a porch you can step on the sand immediately. Really saved our time and maximized our 3 day vacation. I will book again here next time. The admin also gave us the closest bungalow to the beach.

Your Travel Guide to Boracay Island as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Boracay Island from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For most Filipino travelers heading to Boracay Island, flying is the most efficient method. The primary gateways are Caticlan Airport (MPH) and Kalibo International Airport (KLO). Flights from Manila (MNL) to Caticlan are shorter, typically around 1 hour, and land closer to the jetty port. Flights to Kalibo are often more budget-friendly but require an additional 1.5 to 2-hour van or bus transfer to reach the Caticlan Jetty Port. Booking your book flight in advance, especially during peak seasons, can secure better fares.

Alternatively, for those who prefer a more scenic or budget-conscious journey, land and sea travel is an option, though significantly longer. From various points in Luzon, you can take a bus to Caticlan Jetty Port. This journey can take over 24 hours. From other Visayan islands, ferry services might be available to nearby ports, followed by a bus or van to Caticlan. Upon reaching Caticlan Jetty Port, you will need to pay terminal and environmental fees before boarding a boat for the short 15-minute ride to Boracay's Cagban Port.

Once you disembark at Cagban Port in Boracay, you'll take a tricycle or e-trike to your accommodation. For GT Hotel Boracay, located in Station 2, this is a straightforward ride. The total cost, including flights, boat transfers, and terminal fees, can vary. Planning your transport ahead of time, perhaps by booking your flights and understanding the local transfer options, will make your arrival on Boracay Island smoother and more enjoyable.

Best Time to Visit Boracay Island

Boracay Island experiences two main seasons: the dry season (Amihan) and the wet season (Habagat). The dry season, typically from November to May, is considered the peak tourist season. During these months, the weather is generally sunny with calm seas and gentle breezes, making it ideal for beach activities, swimming, and water sports. The period between December and April is particularly popular, offering the most pleasant conditions.

The wet season, from June to October, is characterized by stronger winds and occasional rainfall. While this period might see fewer crowds and potentially lower prices for accommodation and flights, the sea conditions can be rougher, which might affect some water activities. However, even during the Habagat season, there are often periods of sunshine, and the island remains beautiful. For those seeking a fitting choice for Boracay experience with guaranteed good weather, the dry season is the recommended time to visit.

Filipino travelers looking for a balance between good weather and fewer crowds might consider visiting during the shoulder months, such as late October to early November or late May to early June. These periods can offer a good mix of favorable weather and slightly more affordable rates compared to the absolute peak months. Regardless of when you choose to visit, Boracay Island offers its unique charm and beauty.
