Great Experience in a Low Key (Eco Friendly) Resort
My fiance and I stayed here as walk-ins for 4 nights this August. We originally intended only a night, but the staff gave us a favorable discount due to some off-season construction at the resort. We really enjoyed the grounds, friendly staff, and spectacular views. The owner was incredibly helpful. Also worth noting- the owner has designed the resort to be completely carbon neutral, the only such resort in El Nido. If you are looking for a high-end resort feel, look elsewhere. But if you want a friendly atmosphere and great staff this is your place. My biggest complaint is that the owners had several dogs which barked through the night.

Expensive for what you get
I have to say that I loved the landscaping at this resort and the views are incredible! The owner is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is simple but tasty. Having said that, the rooms were basic for the price. I found a string of hair on our bed sheets and the fans were dusty.

Avoid. Beyond dreadful.
Broken door locks. Dirty and torn linen. Stained shower and toilet. Stray dogs roaming the scrubby garden. Truly awful. Don't go. We left after 30 minutes and are asking Agoda for our money back. Much better options available nearby.

- First Impressions: When I made the reservation, I'd changed the date of my journey, but forgot to change it on the particular site where I booked. I noticed immediately after the booking and contacted this place. No problem - contact the booking firm and have them change it without penalty. Good. - First Impressions: When my van neared, the driver called the resort to get the tricycle pick-up from the road. (Small access route.) After the drop-off I waited 30 minutes then gave up and hired my own tricycle. Not good. - First Impressions: The office is not located near the entrance but at the other end. Not good in terms of quick check-in, but also since everyone else goes past with noisy vehicles at all hours when you may be trying to sleep. - If you want to use the pool, check if the repair is done. - Breakfast, like most other places, is meant to be leisurely. If you're in a hurry, get up earlier. Their traditional Filippino breakfast meat is seasoned and has a marvelous taste (but has gristle). - Room - bungalow was quite spacious. Shower/toilet all together. No toiletries (but can easily be found in town if you don't take your own). - Look carefully at the beach photos, as there is no beach area for lounging. Mostly rocky at low-tide and no beach area as the tide rises. - (from listed amenities) - they had no bicycle for rent; you can buy water, but it's cheaper in town. - It's loud. With all the vehicles coming in and out, plus people walking in and out while talking loudly at all hours, and the noise across the fence, in addition to the dog chorus, don't plan on much sleep unless you get an air-conditioned unit, which isn't necessary for temperature control, as the temps are nice and the fan is sufficient. - My experience wasn't the greatest. They weren't too friendly, but did improve as the days moved on (and I sure tried to keep a good attitude when I was dealing with them). Check out all reviews, weigh the information and decide. Me, I won't visit it again.

Nice chilled out place
We had a very nice stay here end of Nov 2016. The owner Elma is lovely, and very attentive. She can arrange island hopping trips departing directly in front of the hotel. We stayed in a decent-sized bungalow with a private bathroom. Water pressure was very low so we had to fill the bathroom bucket and bathe with the scoop provided. It's actually ok - you get used to it. A simple breakfast is included and can be enjoyed facing the bay. You can choose from several breakfast options. Location is nice, about a 15 min walk north from El Nido's main beach. Lets you step away from the noise and crowds. However, roosters and dogs barking in the night will wake you up if you're a light sleeper. Motorbikes available for rent. Tricycle pickup from bus station also possible. They were almost done building a pool which will be a great addition to it all, since Caalan beach isn't really suitable for swimming (quite rocky)
