Food Review for Lanterna Home Kitchen
Locals have been sneaking photos of their dining out at Lanterna for a few years and it's been at the top of my list to visit. This was finally achieved last night, after gathering together 8 ladies, and having listing food allergies, we requested and were offered a set menu of: 2 different of Carpaccio and one Panzerotto (Italian Pizza Pocket Bread) Choice between 3 Different Mains: Seafood Pasta or Spinach Ricotta Ravioli, or Lasagna (not ordered) Choice between 2 Desserts: Chocolate Lava cake or Cheesecake I've never been a fan of Carpaccio and will always ignore it on a menu but Luigi has converted me with his two plates, served with freshly made bread. My friends and I were literally wiping up the serving plate with our bread it was so delicious. The Panzerotto was fresh out of the oven and filled with flavours and delicious cheese. For the main I had the Spinach Ricotta Ravioli and I think my eyes rolled into the back of my head, upon the first taste. Luigi makes his own Ravioli and the taste experience was one that means I'll be hammering on his door for orders to take home. The Cheesecake was light and fluffy and served with a Strawberry coulis, or a Mango & Mint Coulis, and again just produced sounds normally reserved for the bedroom, from all of us who ate it. The Chocolate Lava Cake was rich and oozing with molten chocolate and served with a homemade creme anglais. The group shared two bottles of a good red wine as well. The surroundings are private and relaxing, overlooking the Hotel courtyard garden. Our table was located on the veranda and was serviced by a number of fans so we remained comfortable throughout. Water was topped up regularly and the staff team and Luigi himself were attentive without being intrusive A real experience I will be repeating

Just what I needed
I wasn't sure what to expect because there wasn't that much information available. It turned out that this place was exactly what I wanted for such a short stay. Everyone was friendly. They immediately noticed that I was suffering from the heat and brought me lots of water so that I could rehydrate after my walk from the jetty and relax in their lounge area. That is right, I looked at the traffic when I arrived and decided that I would prefer to walk. 40-45mins later I was at Lanterna. It is not a pleasant walk because of the lack of good infrastructure, the crowds and the weather but if you don't have very much luggage and like walking then you should give it a whirl. I actually walked both ways and I had a carry on bag. The other thing is that you control your arrival time because some people had told me that it could take 1hr+ to get from Station 2 to the jetty but I knew it would only take me 40mins. I was diving for most of my time in Borocay and this was a perfect respite from the craziness of white beach. You could walk to lots of the restaurants and be in the middle of the scene in less than 5mins or you could go next door to the mad monkey hostel which constantly has parties or you could chill out, do your own thing, take quiet walks along with beach (Lanterna is very close to the other side of the island/opposite to white beach which has some chill spots to relax), go to the spa. It is a great place to recover from a long day diving. I brought my own products although they had some available. My room had a fan and some AC which I needed at night because it was so hot. The room was spacious, well appointed, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was spot on. Apparently you can order some very tasty Italian dishes at night if you ask/want to have dinner. I didn't know that but a local told me about it. The wifi doesn't work in the rooms which is annoying only because there are so many mosquitos at night so staying downstairs is a challenge. The lounge/seating area is very comfortable and a great escape from the heat during the day. Great spa suggestion, thanks.

Kiteboarding home away from home
A friend recommended Lanterna to us, and it was the perfect place to stay. Gladys and Luigi were great hosts - generous and thoughtful and their guest house was very comfortable. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a sunny balcony and air-conditioning. There is good wifi and complimentary breakfast. We also had access to a stocked kitchen where we made dinner a couple of nights. Book early, because it likely fills up early.

Perfect place to stay for kiteboarding
The room is clean, spacious and bright. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast is good, and the wifi is dependable. The location is superb if you are kiteboarding, as it is a five minute walk to Bulabog Beach, and where all the kiting happens in Boracay. Gladys and Luigi are amazing hosts, and we were welcomed like family when we came back for the second year in a row.

Superb Boracay Experience!
Lanterna Mini Hotel is definitely a home away from your own. Hats off to Ms. Gladys for a very welcoming accommodation and superb service throughout our stay. From the homey ambiance to the very clean room and yummy breakfast, we certainly enjoyed our whole vacation in Boracay. We even received a surprise anniversary treat as we were upgraded to Red Studio Apartment for free! Sweet! Though the location will require a few walks from the beach proper, everything was still superb and we will definitely book here again on our next Boracay trip. Massive thanks, Ms. Gladys! God bless and more power to the whole team!
