Too pricey for the comfort experienced. Single standard room (for 1 pax) is P850 per night with free breakfast. The food is lousy. My room floor still had sand scattered, as if it was not cleaned by maintenance. There was water outage in the morning.
The hotel is very easy to find. Front desk is very nice and accommodating (but some of the staff are not that warm and friendly). The price is just fair. It's a basic room with a small TV. But if you're travelling on a budget, I would recommend it.
Pros: the room was acceptably clean; near the airport and malls; morning receptionist was very helpful in giving directions in how to go to places. Cons: the towels were clean but didn't smell nice; very poor WiFi connection and it was only available at the reception; they are not liable for loss of valuables, needed to leave them at the receptionist; the free breakfast was bad; they moved me to another room that had a tiny TV, which can give you nostalgia and didn't have hot shower Im a budget traveller, I slept comfortably, but I find this hotel not worth the rate/price at all!
I booked this for a friend and I paid her a visit to check the room. I didn't expect much since we got the room for a cheap price. But it was worse than we expected. The door didn't feel secure. The aircon was noisy and not too cold. You can hear noise from outside the room and since her room was near an emergency exit or so, the staff that passes by or go in and out seem to be throwing bottles there and you can here the clinking noise. You can here the bed springs when you move and the pillow was so hard, you're better off without it. The cabinet was damaged and wobbly and when we tried to shake it, a cockroach came out. There were more than a couple of mosquitoes flying around. The bathroom was so small you could barely move. Bad network signal inside room. Good thing there's WiFi but not that fast, too. Breakfast was okay considering it's just free.
We enjoyed our stay but we still have to request to transfer room because the first room we got is a little bit old and aircon is not working. Not so clean and the light is not so bright.
Magayon Hotel is quite pricey on the cleanliness and comfort that I expected. The room was quite dark and smelly maybe it's already old hotel that's why. The garbage in other rooms are not collected religiously that's why ants keeps on wandering room by room.
The room is not well ventilated. The bed has bugs. Comfort rooms are dirty. The building is creepy.
Dark hallway. Congested bathroom. Unclean and too old linens with holes in the blanket. No intercom and doors has no double lock.
Nice and affordable place. Thanks Magayon Hotel.

Not recommended
We stayed in this hotel for a night due to black out. The hotel is not an ideal for a good sleep. Inside of our room we can hear the noise from the alley, the flush in the toilet is not working, the water has funky smell and the bed is too hard and ruined. You can only get a complimentary soap and tissue. Its not worthy to stay in this hotel. Even the people are not accomodating. I'll give it 1 star coz there is no ZERO here

Average Hotel for Backpackers
I find this hotel ideal because of its strategic location. The view of the world-reckoned Mayon Volcano sitting just behind the hotel's windows is very relaxing and mesmerizing. The staffs are friendly but their response time is lagging. I remember one time I asked for a bath towel, I called the reception to deliver the towel in my room, the lady said okay sir. It was late for me then to find out that the lady whom I was calling forgot my request..disgusting! The place is clean however some rooms aren't totally sanitized and fixed. Airconditioning units are noisy, the bed sheets are clean but thin, that sometimes you can feel the bed springs on your back. Its quite uncomfortable. The blankets are thin like a Japanese paper; the pillows are small and looks dull. During nights, corridors look creepy and quiet opting you to imagine a creepy setting of a horror movie.Occasional cockroaches and cute little mice peep at the middle of the night, complacently traversing the tile floors looking for some pieces of your food leftovers. In some occasion I was able to catch at least three cockroaches and I eventually put them into eternal rest. The mice however are fast runners (like Usain Bolt), I wasn't able to pick them up and crush it with my big foot. WiFi is available but it barely reach the room, esp in the third floor area. You have to stay out of your room to get a good signal reception, and if you're lucky enough to get a connection, the internet is as slow as dying centenarian. However, it was a good stay in general. I find it very strategic because the building is near at malls, eateries, stores/food stalls, churches, schools and just one ride to the government offices. Public transportation is not a problem at all.

The place you get for the money you pay
We were looking for a cheap place just to stay in for a few hours before another long travel back to the city, and so we saw this place online. It looked pretty decent in pictures and is very accessible, but the experiencing was disappointing when we got there. The room smelled funky when we got in. And just when I was so excited to jump in the bathroom for a quick hot shower, I ended up realizing there was not even a drop of water coming out of the faucet. So we had to call the utilities men to fix it and told us that they have to fix the water pump which will take around 2 hours. Since I was already too tired to wait and too dirty to immediately jump in bed, I ask for at least a pail of water instead - which they accommodated. As I laid down, the mattress was hard that I can feel the bed springs on my back. And I saw that they used old pillows. One of my pillows were two old small pillows stacked together to make it one. But because I was so drained after a 13hour long drive, I still managed to fall asleep. The next morning, it was time for us to take advantage of the free breakfast, it was in their cafeteria. But when we got there, there were no food left for us. We had to wait for them to cook food for us and get us coffee. It was a good thing that all the personnel there were friendly, accommodating and helpful - this is the least they could offer. If I still had enough energy that night to go around the city, I'd choose to find some place else to stay. I totally understand that with price comes the quality, but I think the establishment can consider improving their place. People won't mind paying a bit more for a comfortable place to lay their head on for the night.

Giving their best
Their staff were so accommodating and give their services at their best. The hotel might not be that great but it was compensated with their untiring efforts to please their clients. It's really cheap and breakfast was served depending on the number of guest in a room unlike other hotels that is pegged to maximum of 2 in a room.
