The hotel is quite old but pleasantly neat. The bed is quite small though and would definitely benefit from a replacement as it is overly springy. The lighting is a bit austere but over time you'll be able to adjust to it. There's cable TV which has a good number of channels (HBO, CNN, BBC, etc). Air-conditioning is also sufficient. There's also a working table which also serves as a dresser which has ample lighting. The internet could use some work as it is spotty. The bathroom is almost as big as the bedroom and is swathed in daylight. There's a basic toiletry kit (nothing to coo about) too. The key lock is a bit odd looking and dated. Breakfast is served buffet style with basic Filipino and intercontinental spread (cereals, bread, jam, butter, brewed coffee, orange juice, sliced fruits etc.).
The only downside is that all basic rooms do not have windows so the room feels a bit dark and spooky at first. It spooked me out to the point that I wanted to move to another hotel. However, with the hotel right smack into the business district (imagine being in Times Square in NY), I tried to adjust to this austere environment which I was able to do as I had business meetings in the said area. Restaurants, drugstores, malls, coffee shops (Starbucks), banks, and the like are within 5 minutes away on foot from the hotel. If you don't mind being in an old hotel, this place is a good one to stay at. Staff are helpful as well by the way.
