I didn't like the most was that the main entrance door in the lobby was open. So, pollution and heat coming from outside was going inside. My family and I cannot stay for a while in the lobby while waiting for our service to arrive because we will feel uncomfortable especially we were wearing formal attires to attend some formal event, which was the reason why I booked Executive Suite type of room. We didn't even informed prior to check-in that on the following day, the pool area will be use for some video shoot. My family went there, woke up early even have slept late because we were just came from evening formal event party, prepared ourselves to swim, wore appropriate outfit for the pool, however, there were so many bystanders due to the staff of the video shooting event in the building. It's not advisable for me as a woman to swim in front of lots of bystanders due to no more privacy, so, I have decided just to let my son swam on the pool alone even I also want to. If we were just informed prior to check-in, atleast, we have used and tried the amenities earlier or the day before. Worse was, we were Informed when my son just started to wander in the pool, that we have to leave the premises after 30mins, because the videoshoot is going to start. Thus, as respect for those who will going to use the place for the said event,we just decided to leave the area immediately, and not waited for the allowance of time given to us anymore.

Your Travel Guide to Pasay as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Pasay from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For travelers coming from other parts of the Philippines, flying into Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is the most common and efficient method. Major airlines like Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia operate numerous flights daily from key cities such as Cebu, Davao, and Iloilo. Flight durations typically range from 1 to 2 hours, with fares varying based on booking time and airline, often starting from PHP 2,000 for a one-way ticket. You can easily book flight tickets through Traveloka for competitive rates.

If you are traveling from Luzon provinces, bus travel is a viable and economical option. Major bus terminals in Pasay, such as those along EDSA, serve routes from Northern and Central Luzon. Buses offer a more scenic journey, though travel times can be significantly longer, ranging from 6 to 12 hours depending on the origin city. Fares typically range from PHP 800 to PHP 1,500.

For those driving from nearby provinces in Luzon, accessing Pasay is straightforward via the country's highway network. Major expressways like the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) connect to Metro Manila's road systems, leading directly to Pasay. Toll fees will apply, and travel time can vary greatly depending on traffic conditions, especially during peak hours.

Best Time to Visit Pasay

The Philippines experiences a tropical climate, and Pasay is no exception. The dry season, generally from November to April, offers the most pleasant weather for exploring. During these months, you can expect sunny days with lower humidity, making it ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing. Temperatures typically range from 24°C to 34°C.

The wet season runs from May to October, characterized by higher humidity and frequent rainfall, often in the form of short, intense downpours. While this period might see fewer crowds and potentially lower accommodation prices, it’s advisable to pack an umbrella and be prepared for potential disruptions to outdoor plans. Traveling during the shoulder months of November or February can offer a good balance of favorable weather and fewer tourists.

For Filipino travelers looking to experience Pasay’s attractions without the peak season crowds, visiting during the weekdays outside of major holidays is recommended. This allows for a more relaxed exploration of popular sites like the SM Mall of Asia and the entertainment districts. Planning your trip during these times can enhance your overall enjoyment and provide a more authentic feel of the city.

Food and Dining Near Pasay — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

No visit to the Philippines is complete without indulging in Adobo, the unofficial national dish. This savory stew of meat (usually chicken or pork) braised in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and black peppercorns offers a comforting and familiar taste. Many restaurants in Pasay serve their own versions, from traditional to slightly modernized takes.

Sinigang, a sour and savory soup, is another Filipino favorite, especially during cooler or rainy days. Made with a tamarind base and loaded with vegetables and meat or seafood, its distinct tangy flavor is incredibly satisfying. Look for restaurants offering this hearty soup for a true taste of Filipino comfort food.

For a taste of something sweet and refreshing, Halo-Halo is a must-try. This popular dessert is a delightful concoction of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, and topped with leche flan and ube ice cream. It’s the perfect treat to cool down with after a day of exploring Pasay’s attractions.

Lechon, a whole roasted pig with crispy skin, is a celebratory dish often found at gatherings and special occasions. While a whole lechon might be too much for a solo traveler, many restaurants offer lechon kawali (crispy fried pork belly) or lechon paksiw (pork stewed in liver sauce), which provide a delicious way to sample this iconic Filipino delicacy.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Pasay

Filipino culture is known for its warmth and hospitality. When interacting with locals in Pasay, a polite greeting like "Magandang araw" (Good day) or "Salamat" (Thank you) goes a long way. Respect for elders and a generally amiable demeanor are highly valued. Be mindful of dress codes when visiting religious sites.

Pasay, like any urban center, requires awareness of your surroundings. It’s advisable to keep valuables secure and be cautious of your belongings, especially in crowded areas or on public transport. Stick to well-lit and populated areas, particularly at night. For emergencies, the national emergency hotline is 911.

For seamless travel, having essential apps on your smartphone is highly recommended. Ride-sharing apps like Grab are indispensable for convenient transportation. Navigation apps such as Google Maps are crucial for finding your way around. For communication, messaging apps like WhatsApp or Viber are widely used by locals.

Consider downloading a currency converter app if you plan on shopping or dining extensively, and a translation app can be helpful for basic communication if you encounter phrases you don't understand. These digital tools can significantly enhance your experience and safety while navigating Pasay and the wider Metro Manila area.

The lobby had UNCOMFORTABLE HARD chairs to sit on. There were unidentifide people coming and going the property. It did not feel secure in the lobby. I had to tell the front desk about these people. Food was expensive but mediocre. There was a cigarette smoke smell during daytime. I had to wrap my face with towel. I tried calling operator about it but phone only rang.

Very helpful staff, a bit if wait for our second room booking but sorted promptly. Just a bit of noise as we got the room near the rooftop where there's disco and loud music but I gotvear plugs so not so bad. Also, there should be a reminder to guests and staff not to talk too loud while in the hallways, we could hear voices throughout the night. Maybe just bad luck for us, we checked in on a weekend.

It is our second stay, and we were From 6 months ago, it was all nicely polished. But now, the towels looks like it has been overused that the colour looks blackish when it’s supposed to be white. We did ask for another set of towels thinking they might have given us an old stock but the replacement were the same. The shower looks already dated. They need to maintain the place, it’s a shame that in the span of 6months it’s already looking like that.

-The location is great, near convenience stores and WTC. -The room although small is quite cute. The comfort room needs some maintenance though. -The housekeeping staff should also be oriented. We requested for a room make-over thrice but nobody attended to our request until we checked-out. We stayed for two days and no housekeeping done. =( -I like the infinity pool on the 11th floor overlooking the city. It is the only redeeming factor on the room flaws and the poor hotel service. -I will consider booking again here because of the pool. =)

Though the room I stayed was clean as they ever were the shower set up or metal parts were rusted. Other than that it was a great stay and sound sleep. Staff still need to improve their effectiveness in checking in guest.

The hotel is very instagrammable with nicely designed interiors and beautiful accents. Kudos to the architect and interior designer who did this hotel. On the other hand, hotel operations leave much to be desired. The sheets are thin and rough, the room was not thoroughly cleaned (i saw cockroaches at the lobby and in my room), they charge for ice, bathrobe use, etc. Don't bring your room towel to the pool and vice versa as they charge for that too. Corkage of 50%/for the total bill for deliveries and food brought in would also be charged. It certainly felt like a metered taxi and the people are ill-trained in customer service. Location wise, Id says it's pretty good. It's walking distance to The World Trade Center so convenient if you have an event to go there.

Food charges is expensive. All is fine, near to stores if you need to buy what you need. Near to domestic airport too. I recommend it.

Disappointments after disappointments! I booked at this hotel for my family (2adults, 2kids). Upon checking in, they told me that I have to pay P600/night extra for one of my kids.
