Big room, helpful staff
It is not beachfront as advertised. And hard to find because there's no signage or easily seen lobby. Good thing room was big and that we only used it to sleep at night. No amenities. Saving grace was their helpful and friendly hotel staff.

Great place to stay with a group
After a month of volunteering in the Philippines, we were looking forward to a relaxing getaway to Boracay. Our stay at Spirals was the perfect place for us. 5 of us in the loft room, where we were comfortable w plenty of room! It rained for a whole evening, so even though we were all in the room we weren't stepping on each other!! The beds were soft, linens clean and a/c working perfectly. The service was great as well - for extra cups or towels. Nice American shower and toilet. Small fridge - plus a beach view for a budget price. It's a small hotel, up two floors and only 4 rooms but if you can get one of them you won't be disappointed. It was everything you could need!! Only two downsides: #1 - No visa at front desk had to pay cash #2- location right on road so room was noisy at times. Overall, great stay and great price!

great value and location
we stayed at spirals for 2 nights 3 days (sat, sun, mon) and it definitely is not 5 star accomodation but it is very clean and convienient. i stayed in the loft room with 6 people including myself. 3 girls shared the master bed (it fit us all!), a single bed and 2 more single beds on the top level loft area where the boys stayed. it wasnt cramped at all to be honest, i felt as though it was cosy enough that you can all talk and no one feels left out of conversation (without being seen!) the bed sheets and towels are all very clean and crisp. there was no sand other than what i bought in myself! note: if you plan on getting Henna (temp tattoo) make sure you wash it off before lying down because if Henna stains the bedsheets or towels there are associated costs. the location is hard to find however if you told the drivers Boracay Beach Club (BBC) they can stop there and you'll have to cross the road. when you see a wooden gate with a hole in the middle, just walk through and its the staircase on your immediate right. you'll have to carry your luggage up one flight of stairs. the location is AMAZING. just though a gap and BOOM youre on the white beaches of boracay (exactly as per google images!) i was so shocked and the location - especially since station 1 is known to be expensive. for 6 of us in total we paid about $50SGD per person in total for 2 nights. with that said, i went in oct which apparently is not peak season. i think the fact that Spirals is a "gap" away from the beach therefore not facing the beach itself, it is not considered beach front and thus considerably cheaper. in all honesty, the gap takes about 5 seconds to walk so its worth it for the location itself. right next door is Jonah's - the best fruit shake and burger joint at cheap prices. budget friendly! would recommend buying some shakes to take back! its also a great location to find a tricycle (local transportation) as it is right next to BBC. note: there is a nightclub close to Spirals however to be honest, i didnt really hear it unless i was in the bathroom. in the bedroom area, it was totally fine. although, i am 25 years old therefore i dont mind however if you are older then it may be considered a little noisy. overall great place, great location and a great holiday.

I am a happy guest.
My family and I stayed for 2 nights. We weren't checked in not until 2:30 pm because they were still cleaning the rooms. They allowed us to place our bags in a different room so that we could see and check out the beach. We got the Family Loft room. It was spacious, the mattresses are really comfortable. they always have clean towels each time u ask for one.. You could always ask for toiletries and hair dryer is available upon request. The staff were very friendly and they are always there in case u need anything. The wifi works good too.. But as other guests have said, it's quite noisy until 3am because it's near to clubs. It didn't bother us much but if you want to have a quiet night, don't hope for one. It's not a beachfront and you have to climb up to the 3rd floor to go to spirals. But it's like 10 steps away from the beach so that's good. There's also a henna guy and a lazy dog. Lol All in all, our stay was really good! :)

Sorry, but won't come back
To be fair, there was nothing much wrong with Spirals itself. In fact, the room was nice, clean, comfortable bed, and the staff was helpful and friendly. The position of the aircon unit right next to the bed in our room wasn't ideal, and bedside reading lamps would be a nice touch, but otherwise it was fine. The physical location is convenient, basically on the beach, with a decent view. Our problem with Spirals was that it is located right next to Cocomangas Shooter Bar, and while I don't know what it's like all year, during our five nights on Boracay the music was pounding until 3:30AM every night such that it was almost impossible to sleep. So, if you enjoy sleeping and plan to get to bed before 3:30AM on your holiday, I strongly recommend you search for a different hotel. Other general tips on Boracay... Personally I think it is overrated. It's beautiful to be sure, and some of the resorts looked amazing. We actually really enjoyed ourselves, apart from not sleeping, but overall we found it expensive (for what you get), crowded, and noisy. Probably best suited to young backpackers who like to party all night, or rich resort types who can fork out $300+ a night for more premium accommodation. We didn't see much in the middle for regular folks like us, so we won't be back. With hundreds of other islands to choose from, if the Philippines is your destination, pick another one.
