Stayed in and reviewed all rooms. This will help you choose which one.
I have copied this from my AirBnB reviews, which I wrote after each stay.
In line with my plan of staying in Boracay for a while, I am trying the different rooms on this property - because I like the property, the hosts, the location and the views.
The jewel in the crown! To sit in this room and watch the kitesurfers and sailboarders doing their thing is extremely relaxing. The constant cooling breeze floods through the room and is easily regulated by the opening or closing of windows on the downwind side. As you can probably see in the pics, two of the walls can also be opened by the use of a simple system of bamboo roller shutters. They also have heavy duty plastic on the outside in case of rain. The shower is excellent, the bed is comfortable and the kitchenette more than filled my requirements. As always, my friendly hosts ensured any need was catered for. The only 'problem' with this room is that you may not want to leave it! Apart from going downstairs for a swim in the pool, I didn't. Recommended!
1st Floor South
First Floor South is a large room, with a queen and a single. As with it's counterpart, there is also outdoor furniture for 3 people, which is often not the case. Boracay was plunged into darkness last night but those of us at Sunrise Palais had no concerns. The LED lighting in all rooms and common areas was more than ample, plus the wifi router is connected to the backup as well. I was in the pool when the power went out, enjoying a quiet beer whilst watching the moon reflecting off the sea. Our host was visiting all rooms, ensuring everyone was happy. Back to the room - being set on the southern side it has slightly less ocean view than north but I found it quieter and even more private. Previously I had a slight concern that it may not catch the breeze but that concern was wrong. Sitting outside was very pleasant, with plenty of shade and breeze. Inside has, as with other rooms, a cleverly designed breezeway system. It allows fresh air to flow right through the room. This might have to be experienced to be understood fully but it is far superior to simply opening the windows and doors. I think this is my favourite room so far. Recommended!
1st Floor East
First Floor East is a large room, with a queen bed, a single bed, large bathroom, kitchen and concertina doors that can be opened to give the indoor / outdoor feeling. It catches the breeze very nicely. I am doing some work online and found my productivity shoot up, sitting in the shade with the breeze and views. Another bonus of the rooms here is the power outlets. Travelling through SE Asia often leaves one trying to find an outlet in the room for charging the toys. This room has 14, yes, 14 outlets. 3 of them are taken up with appliances, leaving 11 for my convenience. :) My hosts invited me along to a quiet beach yesterday. It was very pleasant, and I had a play with the Aquascooter they have available for hire. It's fast and I could think of many times in the past, and the future, where it would be most handy. Recommended!
Duplex South is a mirror image of Duplex North. I guess that is no surprise! South does have a better view from the balcony, due to the beach being in a southerly direction from the room. As with Duplex North, there is another private gate, which is locked and unlocked via a simple mechanism inside the room. Both duplexes feel very secure and safe. Just on a personal note, I would like to thank my hosts for taking me to see the nightlife on Saturday night. Perhaps I shouldn't have had that last colourful drink though. :) See my other reviews of the rooms on the property to help you make your choice. Recommended!
Duplex North seems to be the pick if you really like your privacy. The electrically / key locked front gate is very close. Both duplex rooms have individual lockable gates, which is locked and unlocked by a simple mechanism inside the room. The room has an expanse of glass doors across the front but the duplex is positioned so that nobody can see inside, or into the balcony, from anywhere. Recommended!
The 3rd floor apartment is quite large and has plenty of windows, which catch the breeze from any direction. Whilst the only sea view is from a standing at the window position, the garden and it's views and seating, are just a few steps away, as is the pool. An added bonus of this room is the massive storage space inside. There is an internal door that goes to an extra room that would be great for kitesurfers, scuba divers and the like to store their equipment between uses - all out of the way from the main room. This room is a bit cheaper than the other big rooms, and may well suit longer term stayers, particularly watersport enthusiasts. Recommended!
The Pool Studio Apartment is different, but it works well. Not your 'normal' shaped room (which is clearly laid out in the host's description) but that gives it a sort of a separate bedroom / kitchen feel. As with the other rooms, the design and multiple windows allows the breeze to flow through quite nicely. Also mentioned in the description is the fact that the hot water system for the complex 'may be heard'. I thought it would be a little noisy but it just produces a few low level clicks which are really nothing. With it's own small, breezy outside sitting area, and being two steps from the pool, this would be the room to pick for a single or couple that want to reduce their costs, yet still have the advantage of the location, the humourous charm of the hosts and the good security afforded by the complex. In fact this is the room I would have picked for my extended stay in Boracay but I moved too slowly and it is booked for my dates. Recommended!
