Our 2 nights stay with The Orient Beach was great, the kids enjoyed the pool, we had our dinner at their roof deck on our last night to save money and energy since we are with kids and a senior. Their shuttle service idea was great especially that we are a big group and we are a bit of a distance from the main stations. The staffs are courteous and extends their assistance whenever you need one. The water dispensers in every corridor saved us from buying water for our coffee, they have water heater in some rooms for coffee and the likes. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and will definitely come back. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Your Travel Guide to Boracay Island as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Boracay Island from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For the most convenient booking, book flight tickets through Traveloka and compare fares across major airlines.

For travelers originating from Manila and other major hubs like Cebu or Davao, the most efficient way to reach Boracay Island is by air. You can book flight tickets to either Caticlan Airport (MPH), which is the closest to the island, or Kalibo International Airport (KLO). Airlines such as Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia frequently operate flights to these destinations. Flights to Caticlan typically range from PHP 3,000 to PHP 7,000 round trip, depending on booking time and promotions, with a flight duration of about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

From Caticlan Airport, a short tricycle ride (approximately 5-10 minutes, PHP 50-100) will take you to the Caticlan Jetty Port. From there, you'll take a 15-minute boat ride to Boracay Island's Cagban Port. The boat fare is around PHP 100-150, plus terminal and environmental fees (around PHP 250 total). If you fly into Kalibo, you'll need to take a bus or van to Caticlan Jetty Port, a journey of about 1.5 to 2 hours, with fares typically ranging from PHP 200-300. This option is often cheaper for flights but adds significant travel time.

While less common for reaching Boracay due to the distance, land travel is an option for those who prefer it or are coming from closer regions like Panay Island. Buses depart from various terminals in Manila, heading towards Caticlan. This journey can take 10-12 hours or more and costs around PHP 1,000-1,500 one way. This method is the most budget-friendly but requires a substantial time commitment. Planning your trip in advance and using Traveloka to book your flight can help secure better fares.

Best Time to Visit Boracay Island

Boracay Island experiences two main seasons: the dry season (Amihan) and the wet season (Habagat). The dry season generally runs from November to May, characterized by calmer seas, less rainfall, and gentle northeasterly winds. This period is considered the peak tourist season, especially from December to February, offering the most idyllic weather for beach activities and water sports.

The wet season, from June to October, brings stronger winds from the southwest and more frequent rainfall. While this period can see rougher seas, it also offers lower prices for flights and accommodation, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers. Even during the wet season, Boracay often experiences sunny spells, and the island remains beautiful and enjoyable. For the best balance of good weather and manageable crowds, consider visiting during the shoulder months of November or May.

Food and Dining Near Boracay Island — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

No trip to Boracay is complete without indulging in fresh seafood. The island offers an abundance of grilled fish, prawns, squid, and shellfish, often displayed fresh for you to choose and have cooked to your liking. Look for local eateries along Station 1 and Station 3 for authentic preparations. Many restaurants offer a "paluto" service where you buy your seafood from a market and have it cooked at the restaurant.

Another Filipino favorite you must try is La Paz Batchoy, a hearty noodle soup with pork, shrimp, and vegetables. While originating from Iloilo, it's widely available and enjoyed across the Philippines, including Boracay. Its rich, savory broth is perfect for a comforting meal, especially after a day spent in the sun and sea. You can find delicious versions in local carinderias or more established restaurants.

Halo-halo, a fitting choice for Filipino dessert, is a must-have in Boracay's tropical climate. This refreshing mix of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, and topped with leche flan and ube ice cream is the perfect way to cool down. Many stalls and cafes offer their unique take on this beloved treat, making it a delightful discovery with every order.

For a taste of local flavors, try Kinilaw, the Filipino version of ceviche. Fresh raw fish is marinated in vinegar, onions, ginger, and chili peppers, creating a tangy and zesty dish that is incredibly refreshing. It's a popular appetizer or light meal, showcasing the fresh catch of the day in a simple yet flavorful preparation.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Boracay Island

Boracay Island, like many parts of the Philippines, values politeness and respect. Always greet locals with a smile and use polite terms like "po" and "opo" when speaking to elders or authority figures. When visiting religious sites, dress modestly out of respect. It's also customary to ask permission before taking photos of people.

Safety on Boracay Island is generally good, but it's always wise to be aware of your surroundings. Keep your valuables secure and avoid displaying large amounts of cash. Stick to well-lit areas at night, especially if you are alone. The local authorities are present, and emergency numbers are readily available through your hotel or local information centers. Always stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun.

For a smoother trip, consider downloading a few essential apps. A reliable map application will help you navigate the island. Ride-hailing apps or local transport apps can be useful for getting around, though tricycles are the primary mode of transport and usually operate on a fixed-fare system or by negotiation. A currency converter app can also be handy for managing your budget.

I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

. I really experienced a good time in Boracay thanks with the help of the people of The Orient Beach in accommodating us. I also recommend Kuya Fritz, he was the one who gave us tours and activities in the island very friendly. Just a few hiccups during our first day because we couldn't contact their front desk to have us licked up from d'mall. But other than that nothing else. Overall, a good experience with them.

Nice staff and employees. Nagrequest ako for extra pillow, nabigay naman agad. pero siguro wrong timing lang ang pag stay namin dito kasi ginagawa yun daan at umuulan kaya maputik. And then, i booked for 2 single bed pero pagdating dun hindi natupad, i even called them few weeks before our stay para masigurado yan kaso di pa din natupad. Siguro mataas lang din expectation ko kasi maganda naman reviews and maganda sa pictures. We booked for 3 nights, pero 1 night lang kami nag stay. Pagdating namin dun nun gabi, nagbook na ako agad ng bagong hotel. Tapos kinabukasan lumipat na kami. Medyo malayo din kasi sa beach. Nakakalungkot na ganito yun naging experience namin.

Very dirty shower curtain. The AC system can be improved. No toiletries provided aside from tissue. The liquid shampoo and soap were not refilled. But, the front desk personnel was very accommodating. Despite all those, we still had a great time and we enjoyed our stay there. Thank you!

I've been to Boracay lots of times already but this is the first hotel I really liked. It is a little further away than other hotels but it is easily accessible. City Mall is just nearby as well as a 7-eleven. The hotel itself is simple but beautiful. You get a nice room with everything you would need, a fridge, safe, hot and cold water, even a hairdryer. The room is very modern and have a terrace where you can hang wet clothes to dry. The staff are very accommodating, they assisted us on getting e-tricycles to ride to station 1 and to jetty port. Their free breakfast is heavy and delicious and their restaurant offer delicious food as well with huge servings at very good prices, their orders are usually good for two already so make sure to ask first as you might over order. They have a free shuttle as well on specified times but we mostly just rode an e-tricycle which only costs 20php when going to station 1. They can also hook you up with tours, we went island hopping, parasailing, helmet diving, banana boat ride and paddle boarding and all in all it costed us less than booking from Kl**k. I wasn't able to try their WiFi as I just used data since Globe LTE was surprisingly decent even inside our room. They also have a pool! I would definitely be staying here again when we visit Boracay again.

Honest review about this hotel. The hotel was really good. When you arrived in their hotel, they will put shell necklace around your neck and a refreshing drink. They will allow an early check-in too kapag may room na available agad. Upon checking-in super bango ng hotel nila. the receptionist is really nice/accommodating! you can leave your luggage kapag di pa time for checkin-in. the room is clean! super clean. the free breakfast is delicious too! the only thing I didn't like is ung malayo siya. kaso ang maganda hindi crowded. mejo malayo lang talaga mula sa port (From port to the hotel 200php ang fare). pero don't worry may free shuttle sila going to station 1 and puka beach tipid nadin. kaya no worries. this hotel is near puka beach. super sulit sa presyo ang service & comfort ng hotel. We will definitely go back!

To the orient beach boracay thank you so much for the warm welcome and the good night kiss. You guys are so adorable and sweet. No words can express how happy my mom and I with the excellent service. The place is enthralling and the ambiance made us feel more at home. The breakfast is superb, healthy and delicious, changing menu everyday. The mini bar beside the swimming pool located was just wow! Excellent staff, very professional and friendly, except their shuttle driver who never helped us carry our luggage to the shuttle upon check out. Maybe if we're foreigner he would helped us? He should be gentleman because we are women. Need tip? Anyway I love the modern room design, color, space, and cleanliness. All their amenities are marvelous. I also love their moonlit roof deck lounge ve ry relaxing and romantic. What an unforgettable place. #theorientbeachboracay #boracay #theorientbeach

I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
