Most enjoyable stay !!!
We had a room next too the Pool area , it was great , everything worked as it should . Only problem a noisy clock , easy fix just removed the batteries !!! The plumbing worked ,,lol . Most hotels in The Philippines have dodgy drains and CRs , no such problem here . Our stay included breakfast which was simple but adequate !! The Staff were very friendly and accomodating and the Security Guard made you feel that leaving IPads and phones in your room when out to the Beach was totally safe !!! There is an issue with noise and flooding in the laneway as a New Hotel is currently under Construction directly adjacent but the noise ceased mid afternoon and never disturbed Our sleep !!! We booked for 2 nights because we had never stayed here before , when I went too book a further 5 nights they were fully booked out !!!! We would definitely stay again !!!

Great Stay in Boracay
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Villa Sunset in Boracay, Philippines from June 3rd to June 9th 2017 and we found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. We actually arrived a couple hours early and our room was not ready so the staff upgraded us to the larger family suite at no extra charge....The room was very clean and the hotel is located in close proximity to the beach....we plan to stay at Hotel Villa Sunset again next year.

Great Stay!
We loved out stay here. 5 stars. The staff was awesome. The hotel is a short walk away from the beach through an alley. They alley is not bad. Some people are saying it's terrible but it really isn't at all. I would absolutely stay here again.

Extended our stay
The people at Villa sunset could not have been more hospitable. We originally stayed for three nights and ended up cancelling our other airbnb (because it was dirty and in a bad location) and were luckily able to come back here (They even upgraded our room for the same price as our old room.)! I get the location because of the walk, but if you don't realize this is a developing country, then you're in the wrong place. It takes all of a two minutes to get to the beach and the smell really isn't that bad. And as soon as the construction is done, it wont be a tiny alley. Rant over. Villa Sunset is a great place, especially for the price. Janice, Toby, and the rest of the crew could not have been better. Every morning they checked in to see if things were up to spec, the breakfast and coffee were hot and delicious every morning as well. Our room was well cleaned when we asked and they even organized our bathroom products (which we though was over the top, but its the details that matter!). The pool is cleaned every morning and is perfect after a long day on the beach. The wifi is as good as it gets for the Philippines. I cannot say enough good things about Villa Sunset, and if a little alley is going to deter you from a stay here, you should reconsider your vacation location in general. We hope we can make it back to Boracay to stay at Villa Sunset again! Thank you again Janice, Toby and Crew, you guys made our stay wonderful!

Checked in and immediately checked out
We had a family room, which was so dark with little natural light. The 2 rooms upstairs had mattresses on the floor. It was called an attic room and the stairs to these rooms were like a ladder. No doors on these rooms either. The deck was the size of a dinner plate. The famous alleyway is revolting. Smelt of sewage and I don't want to think about what we walked through to get beach access. Construction all around, dread to think what time that starts and finishes. Walk out the gate (security guard there) straight into a Philipino neighbourhood with chooks, dogs etc. Not at all attractive. We were happy to forfeit our prepaid accommdation here and go stay somewhere else. South Beach gives you a beach front place for the same money.
