Our family of four enjoyed our stay at Abraham Bohol for many reasons. The property is clean with a great pool, clubhouse (with bar/cafe and pool table adjacent to the swimming pool), and friendly staff. The location is the best part because it's close to the town center near the beach and so many restaurants and airport. We would definitely stay at Abraham Bohol again!

Your Travel Guide to Panglao, Panglao Island as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Panglao, Panglao Island from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

The most convenient way to reach Panglao, Panglao Island from Manila and other major Philippine cities is by air, flying directly into Bohol Panglao International Airport (TAG). Airlines like Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific operate regular flights from Manila, Clark, and other key hubs. Flight durations typically range from 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes. Fares can vary significantly, but booking in advance, especially during off-peak seasons, can yield fares starting from PHP 2,500 to PHP 4,000 for a round trip. It is always advisable to book flight tickets well in advance to secure better prices.

For travelers on a tighter budget, reaching Bohol via ferry is an option, though it is a much longer journey. Ferries depart from various ports, including Cebu City, to Tagbilaran City, Bohol's capital. From Tagbilaran, you would then take a van or bus to Panglao Island, which takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Ferry ticket prices can range from PHP 800 to PHP 1,500, depending on the class and shipping line. This option is best suited for those who have ample time and wish to experience a more traditional mode of travel.

Driving to Bohol is not a direct option as it is an island province. However, if you are coming from nearby Visayas islands like Cebu, you can drive to a port and take a roll-on/roll-off (RORO) ferry that accommodates vehicles. This journey involves multiple ferry crossings and significant travel time. For most Filipino travelers, especially those coming from Luzon, flying remains the most practical and time-efficient method to reach Panglao, Panglao Island.

Best Time to Visit Panglao, Panglao Island

The dry season, generally from November to May, is considered the prime time to visit Panglao, Panglao Island. During these months, you can expect sunny skies and calm seas, which are ideal for beach activities, island hopping, and water sports like snorkeling and diving. The peak tourist season falls between December and February, when weather conditions are most favorable, but crowds are larger and prices for accommodation and flights may be higher.

For travelers seeking a balance between good weather and fewer crowds, the shoulder months of November, March, April, and May are excellent choices. You'll still enjoy pleasant weather, but with a more relaxed atmosphere and potentially better deals on travel and accommodation. This period allows for a more comfortable exploration of Panglao's attractions without the peak season rush.

The wet season runs from June to October, characterized by occasional to frequent rainfall, often in the form of short, intense downpours. While this period might see fewer tourists and lower prices, the weather can be unpredictable, potentially disrupting outdoor activities. However, even during the rainy season, there are often periods of sunshine, and the island remains beautiful. For those prioritizing consistent sunshine and calm waters for water activities, the dry season is the recommended period.

Staff constantly cleaning common areas and bathrooms which was nice. Great common area, not too loud, pool is in nice condition and easy to book tours. Overall would recommend, although a little far from the centre and not many restaurant options close by. Nothing a Scooter rental or 15 min walk doesn’t fix.

Was quoted one price for an upgrade then told another upon arrival. Booked private rooms but the hot water was broken so the options was to take a cold shower or shower in the hostel shared showers. No manager on staff to address the issues at check-in and was told one would reach out to me but they never did.

With only 3 stars, I didn't have high expectations. I semi anticipated that it would be loud and boisterous, but it was actually very demure and quiet. The first night, they had live music and a group had gathered singing and dancing, but you couldn't hear this from the room. Brought my 83 year old father and 3 cousins. The family room was perfect. My dad was able to manage the 3rd floor without an elevator and the view was filled with lush greenery. The free water in the hallway was helpful. The bunkbeds were firm but felt sturdy, as I climbed up to the top bunk. Each room had individual ACs plus ceiling fans plus duvets, accomodating all levels of temperature comfort. We also had a balcony, which was great to sit out on, plus a great place to hang wet clothing from the beach. We had an early start the first day and had to leave before breakfast was served, but there was bread and coffee and we made quick savory and sweet sandwiches/salads. The 2nd morning, we were able to induldge in eggs, chicken tocino, and sinigang. There are also two pools, well maintained. Felt safe since it's a little off the busier area, but very easy to access. Walking distance from shopping, although we had a driver and used tricabs. Would feel comfortable as a solo traveler and lots of activities and tours available directly from reception. The one inconvenience, and most guests prob didnt notice, was the water was shut off at 2am without notice. Staff helped and it was on by like 6am.

Great option off the main strip. We were here only 1 night as our stay was extended but other hotel couldn't accomodate us. Abraham was a great change of pace. Nothing fancy but very clean and hospitable. We had reserved rooms with great AC and would recommend them. We also did a hidden waterfalls tour with Ruby and she was fantastic.

No elevator. Unless you have Netflix, prime or some of the others apps to watch TV, the tv is pretty much useless. Stayed on the second floor, had help with luggage’s going in, no help checking out. Room needs upgrades

Staff service are up to but there is no phone in the room so you have to go to the reception for any request and maintenance and mostly our door lock is not really working well so our safety is compromised. No fridge in the room but there is a common kitchen and fridge but since there are lots of foods inside the fridge and it is not really cold inside, we did not manage to eat the food we put there as it gets spoilt.

Bad experience with the staff and our room security was comprised because of their faulty door. Beds are uneven. Towels are limited.

Things in the bathroom are falling apart. Need to be fixed. My kids found blood in their bed sheet. Nice complimentary breakfast. Variation of foods everyday.

We booked Abraham Bohol as part of a group tour, and overall, it was a smooth and pleasant experience. The rooms were comfortable, and the location was convenient for our planned activities. What really stood out was how accommodating and helpful the staff were. From check-in to special requests, they were always friendly, responsive, and went out of their way to make sure our group was well taken care of. They helped us coordinate arrival times, room arrangements, and accommodated all our requests. Would definitely recommend this place. The service made a big difference!

I recently stayed at this budget-friendly hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The rooms were exceptionally clean, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Despite being affordable, the hotel did not compromise on quality or service. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and economical stay.
