Casa Balthazar

Our second stay at this lovely property did not disappoint. The staff are friendly and very responsive to guest needs. The breakfast room is inviting and the fare typical European. Very well located to explore both the lower and upper parts of the city. It is quiet and the atmosphere is charming. We would definitely return for a third stay.

Amazing location and a gem in the heart of Lisboa. The staff is extremely helpful and they assisted with travel reservation for our excursions etc. The breakfast is also fantastic so we always got a great start to the day.

This hotel is right in the downtown .but still provides a quiet and beautifully kept little hotel with a warm ( yes, 26C !) outdoor pool ! The rooms are modern, bright and ours ( Panoramic ) had a great view . The Breakfast is a cold buffet ( but includes teas and espresso drinks ) The staff are exceptionally helpful ( thank you Ruth!)

Casa Balthazar was fantastic. We stayed in 6 apartments or hotels over a 2 1/2 week vacation and Casa Balthazar was the best. We tend to book higher end stays. Once you find this boutique hotel, you will walk into a lovely isolated place. The staff were so friendly and the rooms were great. Breakfast was so good - don’t skip the Pastel De Nata!! The hotel is an easy walk to the sites, restaurants and shopping. We would stay again when we come back!

Look no further. This hotel hits the mark in all areas. Wonderful breakfast buffet included with your stay. Room was perfect with a fabulous view of the town and castle on the hill. The highlight however was the staff. Everyone was so kind and friendly. The main receptionist Ruth went above and beyond for us in dealing with lost luggage an illness and securing restaurant reservations as well as a driver. Book it now before it’s too late.

We booked Casa Balthazar on the recommendation of other previous glowing reviews, and they were not wrong! We could have found a less expensive stay I am sure, but Casa Balthazar was exceptional in every way. I'm so happy we stayed there (4 nights). We stayed in their Duque Garden Suite and it was great! I only wished we had stayed some more nights in Lisbon so we could have spent more time just hanging around their facility, enjoying their amenities; however we had a very jam packed itinerary so didn't have a lot of "down" time. This was so convenient and the whole 'vibe' of the immediate area was great. The staff were some of the most professional, friendliest I have ever encountered. The design touches in the common areas were lovely. It felt intimate, charming, elegant. I would recommend Casa Balthazar without question, and would stay again. The continental breakfast items were fresh with some healthy options, and I appreciated a breakfast staff member bringing coffee to order, too (though there is a self-serve espresso-type machine available). The honour bar is a convenient option. For Ubers/Bolt/Taxi - the small lane the hotel is on isn't car-friendly (which I loved!) but the drop off point is just a very small walk away. It is a very short and pleasant walk to the upper level of the Rossio train station and a very nice, convenient walk (though with some steps, of course!) to almost ever other location of interest. Great stay!

First time visitors to Lisbon, we wanted a comfortable hotel within convenient walking distance of the city centre and attractions and we were not disappointed. We stayed in Jacuzzi Room 2 which had, as the name suggests, a jacuzzi on the balcony and wonderful views of the city and castle. The room was clean and equipped with a small kitchenette, was spotlessly clean and with very effective double glazing given the bar on the terrace below. We slept very well given the extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast is a simple buffet with cooked eggs available on request but everything is fresh and replenished quickly - the staff were a delight and nothing was too much trouble. Another treat is the all day availability of tea, coffee and delicious cake in the lounge area. We appreciated the restaurant recommendations and assistance in locating our taxi driver when it was time to (reluctantly) head home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would wholeheartedly recommend staying here.
