Mondrian Doha

Shout out to the team at Mondrian Doha! Specially Pamela, Ranjit along with Concierge who was kind enough to put an itinerary together. We thoroughly enjoyed spending our anniversary there. Outstanding service by Raj at the breakfast buffet was much appreciated as well.

The spa stood out the most for me. The whole atmosphere was a beautiful vibe. Mall is literally walking distance. Loved the elevator decor. Every detail was well thought out. The pool was so gorgeous and clean. The thing I disliked most was the early closing of the pool. The breakfast had a lot of options but wasn’t refilled quick enough. Not many fruit options.

The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are amazing. However, the were too many problems with the room. The shower design is actually just terrible. For a 5 star hotel I expect things to not be broken in the room or not even have bare necessities such as body wash and conditioner. I had to go down to the front desk 3 times to ask them to refill the body wash and conditioner. To which instead after 3 days we had 2 shampoos and 1 body wash so I just gave up going downstairs. The tea kettle was broken, the fridge was broken. Knocking at the door at 11pm at night to clean the room was outrageous. I'd expect something of this from a lower rated hotel, not a luxury hotel.

The breakfast could be better. More options and the made to order were not very good

This is my fourth trip to Doha and I enjoy the city but Lusail area is probably my least favourite (first stay in this district). Firstly, The Mondrian’s hotel lobby and drop off area is a disaster for hotel guests. Its a tight circle that’s also a valet and drop off for many bars/restaurants - as a result there’s a long long line of traffic that leaves real guests walking a long way and struggling with luggage. This was a constant annoyance everytime we booked an Uber and left/returned. The decor is very tacky (much worse than photos) and pool area gross - it reaked of chemical smell. I was excited to use the large soaking tub in our room only to find the drain didn’t work and I couldn’t use that either. Overall, super overpriced and definitely not up to the typical Mondrian standard (like the more tastefully and much smarter designed hotel in Singapore). Recommend staying elsewhere downtown or closer to Souq Waqif.

However, even there, there was a separate menu for the half board package with 4 starters, 4 mains and 2 desserts. The waiter had to request the menu for us. Looking at the main menu, there was no real differences in the costs of the individual meals on the half board menu, therefore I could not see the point in having a separate menu other than to restrict options for half board guests. Whilst your staff on the floor, housekeeping, Spa, gym, pool, catering, were excellent throughout our stay, it seems that managers and desk staff were less concerned with our experience, and more concerned with ‘more affluent’ guests. My family and I are well travelled, including numerous visits to Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, staying at high end resorts and hotels. We are not affluent, but we are all professionals. I am an Executive Headteacher for a group of High Schools in Birmingham, my wife is a HR manager for a national utilities company, and my daughter is a frontline Doctor working for the NHS. We work hard, earn well, and spend accordingly. But we are not in the same league as some of your clientele. The half board package made us feel decidedly ‘second class’. Something we have not experienced before. On Thursday 25th I was ready to leave and return to the UK, but one of the waiters in Hudson Tavern, Miche, made me change my mind. I appreciate that people like us may not be your target clientele, and that more wealthy guests are more valuable to you. However, if this is the case, then

Superb stay and hotel. Rooms and facilities were amazing

Checked in for 1 night. And was given the upgrade to loft suite free of charge. Really appreciate that. The half board option was very small not worth it . The breakfast is good. Wide choice but the service is slow and not many staff around . Maybe because it was christmas day the rooms look good but not workable. The locks of toilets down work. Some usb ports arent connected. .overall i was expecting a 5 star top notch hotel and service but felt more 3 stars . Only thing this place is brilliant for is taking your instraagram pictures

Absolutely exceptional stay. Mondrian Doha exceeded every expectation. The hotel is stunning from the moment you walk in, the lobby alone is a work of art. My room was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive, making me feel genuinely welcomed throughout my stay. Breakfast was fresh, well-curated, and delicious, with great variety. Every detail felt intentional and luxurious. This is hands down one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in, and I can’t wait to return.”
