Good food and good spa! It is dated and there is no ventilation of any sort in the room. No A/C so you’re forced to open the windows and somebody in the middle of the night, parked across the parking lot and blasted their music and talked all night, but it echoed across the entire building so it sounded like he was literally outside our window and they stayed out there for two hours and nobody took care of it so be cautious that when you open your window, you’re gonna hear everything and you’re gonna have to open your window for any sort of ventilation so it doesn’t make any sense. The carpet is extremely ugly and probably 40 to 60 years old or at least it looks like it and much of the outside wood looks like it’s in good condition but when you actually touch it, it is extremely rotted and Termite infested and needs to all be replaced. They probably need to spend a couple hundred thousand dollars redoing the place. It’s in decent shape but it needs some work.

A great hotel when you want to get away from the city but want to be close to the city. Fantastic hiking out the front door. Public transportation into Kosice is very cheap, or a reliable taxi will cost about $10 one way. The front desk staff and housekeeping staff are wonderful at Hotel Bankov. My only suggestion involves the restaurant. First, the price of the menu items is high compared to the price of the accommodation, although the dinner food is good. And breakfast is disappointing with little food and little selection. It is nice that the restaurant does not want to waste food by putting out too much on the breakfast buffet, but the amount they did put out was sad. Usually, there were two fried eggs and two hot dogs on the buffet at any one time, and some food items were out altogether and never replenished. So the downside to staying in this beautiful rustic hotel is there is not any other restaurant nearby to go for breakfast. All that being said, I would definitely stay here again when in the area.

My fiance and I stayed here for a friend's wedding. Hotel is very quaint and most of the staff work very long hours and wear multiple hats to run this hotel. Nevertheless, it does not take away from the hotel operating smoothly and in the end, we had a great stay mostly due to the very friendly staff.

The hotel is in the woods, several kilometres from Kosice. They do have a shuttle bus that will take you into town and back for free once a day, but it is otherwise in the middle of nowhere. The rates are high compared to other hotels in Slovakia, though the food and other amenities are still pretty inexpensive. The food is good, and the service is decent, but my room smelled and they had no heating since they didn't expect it to get cold in summer, so the room was cold. I would not stay here again.

It was said to be the oldest hotel in Slovakia. About 4km from the old town on the hill of a mountain. But it's said in the description that they offer one taxi return to and from the hotel to te town.
The hotel has antique furnitures, paintings of Kosice in different era on thw hall way.
There is an onsite Wellness center with swimming pool, sauna and massage from 4pm to 10pm. Massage is 15 euro for 30 minutes.
Lacking of air conditioning is still my major complaint. it's a historical building maybe that's the reason it can't?
The safe in my room doesnt work (not even powered on) and it's noy attached to the wall, any capable person can simply take the safe away.
shower wall on top the tub doesn't close tightly enough, the water could be all over the place after using it.
