The staff at the Grid Inn were so kind and helpful! The entrance to the hotel is down a busy alleyway with several hole-in-the-wall shops - it can be a little confusing at first, but you're literally a 30 second walk to the subway (Blue Line, Jongno-3), with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops around, and is close to Ikseong Hanok Village and Gwangjang Market. The room was small but was perfect for my needs and I definitely recommend staying here if you need a nice central location in Seoul.

The owner of this hotel is so nice! i felt so welcomed and comfortable during my 10 day stay. The staff were very attentive and the area around it is nice. it is a little bit far out (walking wise) from the central areas but that wasn’t a problem for me. The subway station is right there and there’s an airport shuttle stop right across the street. If you’re looking for budget friendly and convenient stay, i would totally recommend this place!

Right in the middle of a market and close to palaces and the revamped old town streets. The rooms are small but okay if you just use them for sleep.

A Hidden Gem in Authentic Seoul If you're seeking an authentic Seoul experience away from the tourist areas, then I recommend Grid Inn. This boutique hotel sits in one of Seoul's working-class neighborhoods and that's precisely its charm. The staff here are warm and attentive, treating guests like friends rather than room numbers. I was able to practice my traveller's Korean with them. Rooms are clean, and any housekeeping requests are handled promptly. But you are not here for the rooms. You're here for the convenient location. The hotel is in Jingo district central Seoul, away from the hotel districts like Myeongdong (which is a fifteen minute bus ride away). Step outside and you're in narrow alleys lined with family-run shops, where the aroma of dried fish (which some tourists may not like) comes from nearby. The main thoroughfare and subway station is just a five-minute walk away, but this pocket of Seoul feels like a local secret. Gwangjang Market is just a 3 minute bus ride away (it was too hot to walk in July). Fair warning: This area isn't sanitized for tourists. The neighborhood wears its working-class character proudly for example weathered storefronts, noisy traffic, and narrow alleys. If you prefer clean, organized tourist areas, this might not be for you. But if you're like me and want that unfiltered cultural immersion, you've found your perfect hotel. Recommended for travelers who want to live like a local, not just visit like a tourist.

Overall not bad for the price. The outlets were not great, and some of them didn't work properly. Little room space but that was expected. The staff there were very nice and kind. The location of the hotel was a little unexpected but once you walk out of the alley way there is a lot of great food places and things to do in the area.

This a great hotel, one of the favourites for us in the whole trip. It is in a perfect location, walkable to many of the top destinations in Seoul and near transit if needed too. It's cute that the entrance is off an alleyway. The room was small, but had everything we needed, and comfortable beds. The mini fridge, the air conditioning, and the rooftop patio were all lovely additions. I just wish the cafe was open earlier in the morning for breakfast and coffee!

I stayed one night at Grid Inn Myeongdong for a business trip, and I was genuinely impressed. The most important factor for me when choosing a hotel is cleanliness — and this hotel exceeded my expectations. The bed sheets, pillows, bathroom, and overall room were spotless. I was pleasantly surprised by how well-maintained everything was. Another standout feature was the Wi-Fi. Compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at, the speed was excellent — I tested it and got 400 Mbps download and 300 Mbps upload, which is rare for hotels in this price range. The staff were also incredibly kind and helpful, just as many other reviewers mentioned. As a thoughtful gesture, the owner even gifted me a used umbrella when I checked out because I didn’t have one — such hospitality really stood out. I stayed in the standard room, and while it was quite small, it wasn’t an issue for me since I was only there to sleep. Overall, I highly recommend Grid Inn and will definitely return in the future.

The staff spoke English fairly well, so communication wasn’t a problem. They also let me drop off my luggage in the morning and check in early at 2 PM, which was really convenient! However, the room was very small, and the hotel was located deep in an alleyway. I don’t think it would feel safe for women to walk there alone at night. Also, water pooled on the shower floor because of poor drainage. I realized that cheap hotels are cheap for a reason… Personally, I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. Next time I visit Korea, I’d rather pay a bit more to stay somewhere nicer.

We had a great stay! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We really appreciated the free washers and dryers, and the ability to drop off our luggage before check-in was a big help. The place was very clean, quiet, and in a fantastic location—right next to the subway and close to lots of restaurants and shops. Highly recommend!

The property is in between Myeongdong and Iksedong. It is outside of the bustle of tourists so it is nice if you are willing to walk a little for more peace during the nights. The entry is in an alley way so it can be hard to get to if you have wide luggage but not impossible. The area is also paved with stones so rolling luggage can be brought through. I had stayed in hostels during my time in South Korea so this place is a nice step up if you want a personal room.
