Location: Within walking distance to Myeongdong and Euljiro-3 train stations. Located within Myeongdong so it 's very convenient. Room: A little on the small side. The room we got was a view of the toilets in the building next to it. Service: Efficient. No fuss. Not personable. Housekeeping: Satisfactory. Beddings: Comfortable. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but options like McDonald 's, Isaac Toast and other local eateries are available nearby. Opposite the hotel is a cafe Leonidas which sells quality coffee at KRW25,000 from 8-11am.

the staff is nice and friendly, but somehow the room is smells bad and not clean as I experience another kimchee downtown guesthouse, the room has no key lock for the locker and also the bed room, and somehow I found out there's a man come into my room in the middle of the night kinda scary, and also the heater is not working properly so I do freezing at night

It was really comfy and pleasant to stay at this hotel. It has strategic location from subway station to bus terminal. You can find a lot of good restaurants and 24 hours minimarket besides the hotel. The breakfast was super delicious and complete. The room condition is clean and compact. Everyday the staff can take out your trash and change the towel regularly. I hope I can visit the hotel again on my next trip to Seoul.

The bed is big, comfortable as looked in the picture. The private bathroom is wide and clean. Our room located in 1st floor, which is a big convenient for us who brings luggages (there's no lift in this place, just stairs). The staff is soso (some are not kind, but yeah).

the room is small but it's worth to stay here if you travel for budget, hehe... the receptionist open 9 am to 9 pm only and by the way they gave us some souvenirs (skincare) nice service, the place is near to myeongdong and you can easily find the place to satisfy your belly... there's a bunch of restaurants to find!would loved to stay here again for my next trip on korea

About

In the southern half of the Korean Peninsula occupies a charming nation called South Korea. Boasting a great mix of natural sites and urban delights, traveling here is always a great idea whether you’re planning to go with your friends, family, or partner.

South Korea Flag in Traditional Village

Destinations within South Korea offer varying yet equally meaningful experiences to tourists. Ranging from the hip streets of Seoul to the romantic landscapes of Jeju Island, there’s surely something here that will excite every type of wanderlust. Continue reading for more tips on how to plan the perfect South Korea trip.

How to Go

The Incheon International Airport (IIA), located approximately 48km west of Seoul, serves as the main hub for international flights going to South Korea. With its top-notch facilities, amenities, and services, IIA has been ranked as one of the largest and best airports in the world. From the airport, there are trains, buses, and taxis available to take you to the capital city.

Another way to get to Seoul is by arriving at Gimpo International Airport (GMP), Seoul’s former main airport before IIA was built. This is much closer to the city proper, however, international flights are limited as compared to Incheon International Airport.

Getting Around

South Korea’s transportation system is among the most advanced in the world. traveling around the country is pretty much a dauntless idea because of its high-tech network of railways and bus routes. Public transportation is very well-covered that the only time you really need to take the plane is when you want to get to Jeju Island, a province physically separated from the rest of South Korea.

The most efficient way to go from one city to another is by train. The country’s high-speed bullet train, the KTX, will get you from Seoul in the north to Busan in the south in just a few hours. Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, Daejeon, and Incheon, South Korea’s six largest cities, also offer a reliable subway network that serves hundreds of stops across the lines.

Buses are another great mode of transportation to get around the cities. If there are no routes to your destination via plane or train, chances are there’s a bus ride that can connect you to your point of interest.

Top Things to Do

Every city offers some great assortments of things to do in South Korea. And It’s always nice to start in the capital city of the country. Seoul does it well when it comes to the juxtaposition of modern and traditional culture. Here, you can discover Korea’s rich culture when you pay a visit to cultural landmarks such as Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village.

N Seoul Tower

At the same time, the city also boasts stunning urban developments including the N Seoul Tower and Dongdaemun Design Plaza. If you’re traveling with kids, it’s worthy to note that Seoul is also home to Lotte World, the largest indoor theme park in the world.

Some more must-visit tourist spots in South Korea can be found in Busan. It is, after all, the second-largest city in the country. Arguably the best thing about Busan is the convenience of bouncing back and forth the bustling streets and beach shores, as the city houses Haeundae Beach, an urban beach by the edge of this massive city. To end your south adventure on a high note, climb your way to Busan Tower. This is a 120-meter-high tower that gives you a panoramic view of the port city.

If you’re planning a trip with your loved one, find a way to visit Jeju Island as well. This is the only tropical destination within South Korea, which is an hour flight away from Seoul. Dubbed as the honeymoon capital of the country, you can expect Jeju to be nothing short of scenic views and romantic activities. This includes walking the Olle Trails and exploring Camellia Hill.

What to Eat and Where

Museum Kimchikan

Korea is charming for so many reasons. Part of what makes it an alluring travel destination is its incredible food scene. The first on our list is a Korean staple called kimchi. Pickled vegetables go with almost every meal and are quintessential in Korean dining tables. You can’t go here and leave without having a taste of authentic kimchi.

Another must-try dish in Korea is bibimbap. This one is basically a bowl of white rice, tossed with mixed vegetables, meat, and gojuchang or red chili paste. Not only is it a feast for the eye, but it also tastes as good as it looks. And of course, what’s a visit to Korea without experiencing Korean barbecue dining? To conclude your trip, be sure to step in one of the many K-BBQ spots in the cities, grill ‘till you’re full, and enjoy a bottle or two of soju.

Nightlife

Night owls will be ecstatic to know that South Korea has a very lively nocturnal entertainment. When it comes to nightlife, Gangnam is world-renowned for offering a trendy party scene that houses Seoul’s hottest clubs. If you want to rub elbows with Korea’s local celebrities and trendsetters, we suggest finding your way to club Octagon.

For those who’d rather keep their night low-key and away from the flashing lights, you can also find tons of round the clock cafes here and there. Alternatively, night markets are also a great venue to spend your nights productively in Korea.

Where to Stay

If you’re traveling to South Korea for the first time, staying in Seoul hotels to tour around the capital city is always a good idea. Busan and other areas are recommended if you have more time to explore other parts of the country. For couples, Jeju Island is another ideal option.

Seoul in South Korea

To give the first-time visitors a more detailed tip on where to stay, here are the best areas to book your hotels in South Korea based on the type of traveler that you are. Myeongdong is Seoul’s major shopping district. Accommodations in this area are surrounded by street food vendors and trendy boutiques.

For budget-conscious travelers, we recommend looking for a place within Hongdae. This area is a favorite hangout spot of the younger crowd, so it’s easy to find establishments that are pocket-friendly. But if you’re planning to splurge and enjoy yourself to the fullest, the glitzy Gangnam is the place to be. Here, you’ll find some of the most luxurious hotels in the capital city of Korea.

Travel Tips

  • Korea’s tap water is 100% potable.
  • A lot of restaurants have call buttons on their tables. If you see one, use it to call a server rather than the usual gesture of raising the hand.
  • Use transportation apps like Subway Korea to ease your way around.
