Lux Guesthouse - Hostel

This property should not be , in my opinion, on this site . This feels like someone’s apartment that rents out rooms . It’s super messy , disorganized. I arrived early and a guy sleeping on the sofa told me to come back at 3pm. He said I would have bed 3 . When I can back at 4pm , I went to bed 3 but that was in use , a random guy told me to use bed 4 but that bed was not made up . I was so turned off I just left even though I had pre paid .

This is not a guesthouse,also not lux as it's named.it's an apartment, in each room there are bunk beds with 2 bathrooms.But everywhere is so dirty that you are even hesitating to touch.i don't know how there is no cleaning done at all,place needs serious maintenance and cleaning.only positive thing is location,a place to sleep and shower.if you can pay more,go somewhere else

A nice place for solo travelers. Enjoyed myself and was very comfortable. Necessities were provided, but bringing extras, such as shoes and towels, wouldn't hurt.

The worst experience ever, on picture it looked an ok gueat house and for the price we didn't expect a 5 start property but as soon as you arrive to the place you can see that everything is dirty. Going inside the property and crossing accrooss the hallway and the kitchen there was a piece of wood and newspapers on what i assume was a fixer from the broken floor. The kitchen was full of dishes and when you go to your room it was definitely the okay part but the blanket small like hasn't been washed in a while. The only good point was the quick communication but it didn't matter because the property was definitely not well taken care of. We went after an hour out and found a better place.

Location is convenient with lota of coffee places nearby. Climbing 5 stories with my luggage was a thumbsdown. Also the shared toilet smells strange

Nice location. Little far from subway but love the staffs.

One of the shower/bathrooms is so small that there's no room to put any of your items, other than on top of the toilet. A shelf or some hooks, as well as a bathmat to dry your feet outside the door, would make a big difference. Other than that, the guesthouse was fine. A pleasant seating area with outlets, and reasonably comfortable bed. There are also free storage lockers.

Good location and a good place, but lacks the convenience and privacy of a real guest house - it feels like staying in someone's home.

there was no one there helping me checked in, the one who helped me open the door for the guesthouse was also a guest who stayed at the same guesthouse. There are mosquito and i got lots of mosquito bite. The shower didn't have hot or eve warm water, i then had to put on all of my clothes again asked for help.

Great location near Hongdae and Sinchon. Guests are friendly. Feels like "crashing with your cousin" rather than a guest house. Open living room with sofa, two chairs, tv, pc, arcade game console. Smaller but well-appointed kitchen; including gas stove. Two full baths with showers. 4 bedtooms; 16 people can be at the guest house at most; however, there are usually only 6 to 8 guests at a time. Recommended.

I will definitely stay here again when I go back to Korea. The staff was so friendly and accommodating!

The place was incredibly clean and nice. Lives up to the name Lux. The staff was very helpful, even helping me get a taxi to the airport and helping me carry my luggage up/down the stairs. Would totally recommend. Very close to Hongdae, about a 5-8 minute walk.

They opened for only a week so yet to reflected everywhere but I had no problems finding Lux Guesthouse. Located on the 5F, you'll want to bear in mind the stairs. However, check-in was smooth, the staff were very friendly and multi-lingual with a family-style run approach to Lux guesthouse. For the price, the sleeping arrangements were great. I stayed in the 6 bed dormitory which had modern beds, plenty of storage and a large modern cabinet to stow away clothes on the hangers and relatively large backpacks and smaller items. The beds were comfortable and you get a full-on blanket which is soft and comfortable like back home. The rooms are well-heated with heated floors in the social area too. The two showers are pressurised well, though if used at the same time temperature and pressure drops so bear this in mind. Overall, it was comfortable with shampoo and toothpaste provided. The self-service kitchen has a fridge, stove, microwave and hot water machine for all you need. Internet is important for me and I'm happy to say it has very fast wifi so I could work from the lounge with ease. As I stayed over Christmas, we had a small ji-mek party which was great and found it felt like home including the people. I definitely recommend the place for comforts. It's mid-way between Hongik university station exit 8 and Sinchon exit 8. The quieter side but near all the restaurants and shops of Hongdae so was perfect.
