Barcelo Valencia Hotel

Great hotel in Valencia between the beach & Old Town, with the Turia on the doorstep making it easy to navigate Old Town. Hotel is large, modern & airy. All the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. We ate in 3 of the restaurant recommendations they gave us - all superb! We booked the ‘family plan room’ as we were 3 adults who all like a proper bed as we were there 4 nights. The pictures & description suggested this was one large room with a king & 2 x singles. This was not the case it is actually 2 interconnecting rooms, so although you got loads of space & twice as many bathrooms it’s not the same as all being in together somehow. We all commented that if we were a family with younger children we might not have been so happy as there are obviously 2 external doors plus the bathrooms were back to back in the middle so you are quite a long way away the bedrooms. The other ‘challenge’ was that the bathrooms had no doors - all very open plan & glass screens so if you like privacy for your ablutions then this required a lot of shouting ‘all clear’ before exiting the bedroom area 😂. Separate toilets behind frosted glass were also not ideal for a friends group (or teenagers!). I appreciate these sound like 2 big moans but we had a great stay, hotel is super comfy, convenient and I would recommend but I think the room description could be clearer & would love it if they put some doors on the bathroom! It gave us a funny memory of the trip!

Rooftop bar only makes drinks from their menu and doesn’t accept cash. So no martini for me 🙁 Very nice place and I’d stay there again.

Rooms were nice, breakfast was good (although the hot food could have been a bit hotter). The pool isn’t really a pool but the roof area is nice. Well connected with bus stop outside the property. Would come here again.

Great option

Lovely modern hotel, great location for our stay. Pool is small but great place to relax. Cocktail on the roof top is a must. Staff on checking in couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful

Really nice hotel, good size room, good breakfast. The bar was nice but kinda wanted something a bit more cozy at the end of long day, it had more of a night out feel rather than relaxing. Staff were a bit varied, some were great & some didn’t seem happy, no one was rude which was the main thing.

We stayed here while we got our daughter settled to study abroad here in Valencia for the year. Nice facility. Great staff. Always have a friendly security guard on duty so it felt very safe. Always clean. Would absolutely stay again.

Great Hotel, would highly recommend and will be going back to stay.

We could not get the water hot so our showers were with slightly warm water. That was our only issue, everything else was great, nice big king size mattress and pillows.

Construction around the hotel very noisy in the morning . Also pool and gym are not in good condition. Good shopping around the area

It was very nice, shame about the pool size but there is nothing they could have done about that 2 Security Gates to go through and no drink service at the pool but in relation to the size of the pool that’s not really surprising Lack of information about the pool which could be improved

Location is great for the park and beaches to the south of the city. It has a taxi rank. We used the hire bikes to cycle in the park. Someway from Old Town, but we liked that. We noted the rooftop bar is super popular with locals, as we met many people in the lift. Biggest complaint - the swimming pool is tiny! More of a plunge pool and is very busy. Hotel decoration is rather bland, but these ate minor faults.

The breakfast was excellent and the amenities were also great. We actually walked everywhere but you have a taxi stand right in front of the hotel which is very convenient. Love our stay at the Barceló.
