Fair condition. The room we got was quite dark and on the first floor. The room was old.

The hotel was lovely, inside and out, with a wonderful 2nd-floor lounge and a real bargain for the price. It was conveniently located, to both the old city center and the train station.

I stayed in the old area of the hotel, it was very nice but could us a little updating the bathroom.

Great value. Good location along the old wall, near the escalators. Breakfast was delicious. Nearby parking is a plus.

The views and location were excellent. Place is dated but clean. Restaurant/ courtyard bar in the evening could be improved if they serviced the tables outside. For the amount of staff the has working for 2 tables inside, the staff could have been to better use giving table service for drinks to approx 35/40 people seated in the courtyard. This would have delivered an “excellent” for our stay . The breakfast was great with a wide variety of choices and great, friendly service

An incredible property--built into the walls of the old city, with courtyards and fountains everywhere. Lovely room, great breakfast buffet. It is at the bottom of the hill, so you will definitely get a workout on your way to the historic sites of Toledo, but worth it!

We were in Toledo for a wedding and enjoyed two nights here as it was the venue for day 2. Fantastic location, set in the town walls. Beautiful architecture. Lovely spacious room. Lovely staff. Lots of lovely breakfast options. Excellent location for a walk to see the sites and also super easy to travel from Madrid using public transport.

We recently stayed at Hotel Hacienda del Cardenal in Toledo and were truly impressed by the stunning property. Attached to the ancient fortress walls, the hotel exudes historic charm, with beautifully maintained gardens, a peaceful courtyard, and not one but two inviting pools—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The location is another big plus. Just a short walk to the old town, the hotel is conveniently located near the public escalators , making access to the historic center very easy. A special mention goes to Angelica at the front desk, who was extremely helpful and accommodating during our check-in. She made sure our luggage was taken care of even though we arrived before the official check-in time, and her warm demeanor set the tone for a pleasant stay. We were initially looking forward to trying the hotel's restaurant, particularly their suckling pig, but it was closed on Sunday—something worth noting for future guests. Despite that, we were very happy with our room. It was clean, well laid out, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Housekeeping staff were also friendly and efficient throughout our stay. Breakfast was perhaps the weakest part of the experience, the selection was average. All in all, Hotel Hacienda del Cardenal offers a beautiful and historic setting with great comfort and a convenient location. While our stay was very enjoyable, a few inconsistencies in staff hospitality slightly impacted the overall experience.

Apart from how excellent this accommodation was, I felt like staying in a royal castle. The rich history, smell of the old castle, furniture and surroundings add so much to the experience. Staff was so friendly and welcoming. I had an early morning train so they were so accommodating in packing our to-go breakfasts. Very happy and glad I stayed here.

Beautiful old hotel built into the city walls. Great facilities, including 2 swimming pools, and lovely room. Close to secure parking station and just a short walk from hotel to the heart of the old town.
