el dormitorio da claustofobia parececia que estamos presos,todo limpio,el internet todo el tiempo off and on.solo se puede usar el elevador hasta el segundo piso

Room was small but clean - bath was excellent. There is no access to this hotel so you must walk about 5 minutes with your bag to get there - should have been a notice on their site. They put us on the 3rd floor, reception is on second floor, but the lock the door off of the 3rd floor elevator so we had to carry our bags down the stairs when checking out and staff wasn’t very friendly- not sure why?? Location is great, would stay again assuming we could guarantee a 2nd floor room!

The location is perfect for visiting the historic center of Madrid. Even though it is along a busy pedestrian street, I heard no noise from the street in my room. The room was perfectly clean and comfortable and the daytime receptionist was friendly and offered good advice on local restaurants.

The hostal was fantastic. All cmean mattress perfect for indtant sleeping. The minir thing is the room is cozy and air get stuffy. We just openen the windowand in 5 minutes all clrear to go. I recommend the place as it's been recently refurbished beautifully.

Tal cual la description. Habitacion limpia y muy comoda. Buenisima ubicacion. Y su staff super super amable. 100% recomendable!

Excellent location. Terrible service. Dangerous stairs. The staff were unhelpful and rude. The stairs are hard to navigate. The stairs do have handrails but there is a wall touching the handrails - it is not possible to grab the handrails as a result. The location is very good and you can walk to most locations in Madrid.

Small but excellent place to stay in Central Madrid. Clean, safe and staff was very friendly.

Personnel super friendly and helpful. Located 3 minutes walking to El Sol metro. All principal attractions are at walking distance. The only issue are thin walls are thin . You can hear people coming to the lobby

Great location and helpful, friendly staff. Right in historic heart of Madrid within 20 minute walk in any direction to key sights. Veryclean room. Only down side was our room was little narrow and laid out in awkward L-shape. Also, no microwave or coffee maker or small fridge was provided in room. Those items would have made the stay perfect. Otherwise, great building and location and friendly staff. Mil gracias!

Great Location , Helpful Staff. But other than those, It wasn't a good experience. Rooms are from 1980s. Everything is old. No technology involved with this place. The bed was very uncomfortable. Wifi was weak. I stayed in a single room. So It was extra extra tiny room. Other rooms might be little larger but I don't really suggest anyone to stay in that single room if you don't have to.

Very shabby overall. Old and stained bedspread. Loud, no soundproofing, WiFi does not work in rooms. Not kept up at all. Extremely small room and shower. Staff not helpful.

The location was convenient.

At no stage did I receive any confirmation of my booking for this property, so I had to book another property for our stay. It ended up being quite expensive as the new booking was at such short notice, plus the fact that I had already paid for Hostal El Pilar. I am home now and not at all happy with the fact that the communication was non existent

Hola, este hotel no es ni remotamente lo que usted espera, ni lo que se ve en las fotos que hay en Expedía, para empezar el baño de la Hab estaba muy pequeño y el toilet suelto, no se podía hacer necesidades en el, es casi imposible bañarse en ese lugar ya que la bañera es extremadamente pequeña con una cortina de muy mala calidad, el aire en muy mal estado, el control del TV prácticamente inoperable, el control del aire roto y funcionaba cuando quería, las sábanas y la cubre cama sucia el día que llegamos tuve que pedirle a la señora que la cambiara, y para rematar existe moho producto de la humedad en algunas áreas de la Hab. Pero lo peor de todo es el ruido que hay toda la noche proveniente de otras habitaciones y la calle , es imposible dormir , estuvimos casi 9 días sin poder dormir. Yo no soy una persona exigente, pero este lugar no lo recomiendo di para nada.

We enjoyed our stay. Alfredo was a great front desk host and gave us great directions to find our way around. We arrived early. Our room was not quite ready so they stored our luggage while we went and ate lunch. Then we were able to get in to our room early. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was also very quiet. This room was a perfect location. We could walk to Retiro Park and the Palacio Real and everywhere in between. There were many food options very nearby. The Sol metro station is just a 2 min walk- if that. FYI- if using an uber or taxi- be aware that a lot of times the street is blocked to traffic except police and deliveries. You will need to meet/leave the taxi/uber at the corner- it is not far at all though.
