Hotel Silken Rio Santander

Fantastic place to stay. Very clean and welcoming with all modern amenities.. I got a free upgrade to a seaview which was amazing. I cant wait to come and stay again.

Great hotel over looking the beach. Buses outside to go to city centre in 5 mins. Would stay again.

Superb value. Super clean and modern. Very friendly and helpful staff. Close to good resaurants and bars. Plus adjacent to the.beach. We'll be back.

The greatest asset is the staff. They were endlessly helpful to me in working out all sorts of issues, especially about train travel in Spain. One negative for me: the sharply sloping ceilings in my room are hazardous to a tall person. I hit my head hard several times during my stay. Next time I would like a different style of room if they are available.

Ladies at the front desk were very nice but the bed was not well made also. Bathroom not clean mold around shower doors

Excellent hotel with an amazing view

It was a fabulous hotel for us. We enjoyed every minute of our 3 days stay. Great location.. right In the seafront. Several beaches and parks in the vicinity. There are bus stops a few yards away from front door and frequent buses to city which is only 10 minutes ride away. We didn’t use the café, bar or restaurant in the hotel only because we like little walk before and after meals. There are numerous cafes, small and large restaurants that serve great food, tapas and drink just a few minutes walk away. Some of them have live music and some have beautiful ambiance. The hotel itself is clean and the room very cozy with nice pillows and bed. The hotel staff were nice and friendly, particularly the lady who was in the front desk during our stay. She was very pleasant, polite and kind… always helpful with a smile whether it is giving us charging cable for phone or getting ironing board in the room promptly or explaining about the hybrid bikes available for hire from the hotel. The other members of staff we interacted were very pleasant as well. We have been to most other parts of Spain several times in the past 15 years. It was our first time in Northern Spain and Santander exceeded our expectations in many ways. Certainly staying in this hotel contributed significantly to a great holiday. Suma and Thomas

We got upgraded to beach view which was an amazing view. Reception staff were excellent. The restaurant was unfortunately closed so we ate on the bar, food was good but server was very abrupt.

Stayed for 2 nights. Return visit to Santander in two months. Decided to stay near the beach. Room was good. We had a sea view. The room was on the main road looking on to the bay. Was a little noisy but not late into the night. Breakfast was good. We had breakfast tea which for Spain was very good. Also had Cava at breakfast! There was no outside space at all. Location was excellent.

Great location for the beach. Food and service are very good. Bus service to main part of city is great. Noisy guests above us but don’t blame hotel.

The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive to our family. A welcome aspect when traveling with young children.

The staff is wonderful—-helpful and kind. They gave me a lovely room with a view of the ocean.

Stayed in the tower room as we were up graded, which was lovely, but the stairs were tricky to negotiate in the night when we needed the loo. Otherwise lovely room with spectacular views.
