Amaya Beach Pasikudah

A decent seaside venue with good facilities. Nice layout. However some maintenance and service deficiencies with AC unit leaking stagnant water that needed multiple calls for clean up. Maintenance crew only mopped the dirty water and left a air fresher for the guests to use. Had to call room service to have rest of the clean up completed. No engagement by property management at all. The pool, beach and bar staff are very pleasant and courteous. However front desk and onsite managers need more training in customer service and ensuring that they listen to the guests instead of being dismissive. Other properties in the location have nicer beaches and better trained more friendly and responsive management. The adjacent usable public beach is crowded. Not meeting standards of an Expedia VIP property in terms of overall standards and service.

Excellent rooms - very spacious and we'll equipped. Buffet was good. Service on the patio exceptional! 3 star rating is due to drivers quarters not being available during our stay. They are charging enough that there should be appropriate accommodations for drivers - they are very much a part of the trip and need to be well rested for long drives to and from Pasikuda.

Beautiful property with friendly and helpful staff. The food is delicious with options for all visitors. Gym had good equipment and the pool and grounds are lovely. My only suggestion would be to have an iron in all rooms it would have been helpful with my wrinkled dresses.

Lovely hotel in a great position with snorkeling directly from the beach.Rooms great and comfortable , staff friendly and helpful. Very quiet unless a wedding is happening. Beach shoes required. Only negative is the buffet meals are mostly cold and some loud guests on the beach with music pumpin out. We looked at the other hotels in the area and this was for sure the best choice.

Excellent service and good clean place

This was our second visit to Amaya and was happy to be able stay here again. The ambience and staffs were very pleasant. The beautiful Pasikuda makes Amaya a great place to stay in. The only thing was the hotel is based in the Tamil speaking region so it would’ve been great to be greeted and approached in Tamil as well. Kindly use both the national languages or use English entirely.

Great sized pool on the beach but you need to walk along from there to public beach and beyond as you cannot swim from hotel beach as it is coral. Limited options to dine outside of hotel as pubs and restaurants few and far between Transport on leaving hotel difficult to arrange though tuk tuk drivers outside hotel really helpful with this

It was an absolutely fantastic place to relax and spend quality time with family. The food was delicious, offering a wide variety of options, and the staff were exceptionally courteous and well-trained.loved it.

Overall the experience was great, the only feedback I would give is that one of the staff members tried to charge me 1000 rupees to play on the pool table for an hour, which I think wasn’t think was fair. The pool table is located right by the bar where people are already purchasing drinks, and to be charged to play pool I Personally don’t agree with. Other than that, the hotel and breakfast was great!

The buffet was crowded all the time, with a long queue during dinner. There were not many dessert options to choose from.

Hotel is good, clean and the staff is very friendly. However, it was difficult to find the room first time, after checking, was challenging. Management should revisit the direction based on room numbers again.

I came here with my husband and toddler (a year and a half old). Overall we had a great time. What we liked: - The view was breathtaking! - Our housekeeping staff Ajithkumar was amazing to us! He always greeted us and asked if we needed our room cleaned. And when he did, we were greeted with a pleasant surprise, a swan scultpture made out of towels and a really cute elephant scultpture for our son. So much talent! - Our room was VERY spacious which was great for our toddler son who loves to run around. And our room came with a HUGE balcony . There was an entire garden! It was amazing! - Our room was clean and the bedding was very comfy! - Easy access to the beach which is very comvenient - The hoppers at the hopper station at breakfast was amazing. - Great ambience! Loved the overall feel of the space. From decor to the music, it was very nice. - Shakila from the restaurant was very nice to us. She always welcomed us with a warm smile and helped us with whatever we needed. She even interacted with our toddler son which was great! What we thought could have been better: - We felt like some of the staff gave the "foreigners" better/special treatment. I'm a Canadian with brown skin who could be mistaken for a local and I felt like at times,we weren't treated like the "white skinned" guests. That's a shame! - The food overall was mediocre. A lot of the food was bland. The a la carte menu was so much better than the buffet. Still not much to rave about.

Beautiful hotel on a lovely beach. I was just sorry that the fact I was there on business meant that I could not make full use of the facilities.

This hotel is a lovely building right on the beach. It’s very clean, the rooms are spacious and the staff are very friendly- particularly Shakila and Vishwa in the dining room. The cricket was on during our 4-night stay and although I understand that it’s a big thing in Sri Lanka, having it on (loudly) on a big tv screen in the bar/lounge area all day & evening was annoying to say the least. Most guests sat away from the area and the staff were watching it! The number of places to eat/drink near the hotel are extremely limited so bear that in mind if you like to explore a little. Would I recommend the hotel? Yes, if you want to have a peaceful few days and evenings eating at the hotel and relaxing (not when the cricket is on though!)
