Room was a little dark as there wasn’t enough lights, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Overall we had an enjoyable stay, staff were welcoming and helpful throughout check-in and check-out. We had an unpleasant incident at the end which definitely eroded the experience. On the day after we had checked-out, we returned to the hotel to retrieve our baggage before heading back to their airport for our flight. It was rather late (around midnight) and we intended to eat the food we had before leaving the hotel. As it was quite cold outside, we entered the lobby and approached one of the staff to ask if we could eat at the lobby, explaining our situation. The gentleman was very kind and accommodating. He fetched our baggage and left us alone as we began to eat our food. Suddenly, another staff, Paula, approached us and said to us rudely that we were not allowed to eat in the lobby. We calmly explained that we were guests that had checked-out earlier in the day and we just wanted to have a quick bite and will be leaving very soon. We also mentioned that we had asked for permission to eat in the lobby. Upon learning the situation, Paula lets us stay to eat but she wouldn’t stop harassing us every 5-10mins. At one point, while still stationed at her table across the lobby from us, Paula said loudly that it’s been 30 mins we should be done eating and told us we should leave. Her condescending tone and rude treatment really left a bad taste.

Clean room, quiet to sleep but the shower unit wasn’t fully waterproof as water leaked through the shower door.

The rooms facing the train tracks have no soundproofing, you hear the screeching of the trains coming and going till 1 in the night and from 4 in the morning. Sleep quality is very low because of this. Otherwise a standard (small) budget hotel room, which was at least clean and warm.

Tidy and clean

Clean and modern. Walkable location and the Basel Card included with the city tax was very helpful.

Good for amount paid, rooms small and would be nice to have real glasses instead of cardboard. Basel city pass given to us was a nice bonus.

The hotel was difficult to find as the entrance is around the back and not on the main street. There were no signs at all to help. The hotel is nice and there are restaurants over the railway bridge. The bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a curtain, make sure you share with someone you know well!

If you liked dorm or extremely minimal living, stay here. We talked our way into the Ibis Style up the road for a small charge per night.

Good location near the train station and with three different tram lines easily accessible. The room was clean and modern, nice shower, toilet in the “cupboard” a bit claustrophobic. Room is quite small, not made for a lot of luggage. The hotel is perfect for a short stay for a night before heading to the train station or the airport (airport bus leaves from just outside the train station).
