The hotel room is very clean, modern, comfortable, and there is also a free mini bar (snacks and drinks). The location is in the city center, near the MRT station, and many choices of places to eat around the hotel. The hotel staff is very agile and friendly, when checking out we were helped to find a taxi to the airport. Even the staff without being asked immediately helped lift our many and heavy suitcases into the taxi. If we visit Kaohsiung again, this hotel will definitely be our first choice to stay.

However, as with any urban environment, it's wise to be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded night markets or on public transport, to guard against petty theft. Getting to Yanchao and Getting Around

Reaching Yanchao from the Philippines is a straightforward journey, primarily involving flights into Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH), which serves the broader Yanchao region. Direct flights from Manila (MNL) and Cebu (CEB) are available with various airlines, typically taking around 3 to 4 hours. Connecting flights through other Asian hubs are also an option, potentially offering more flexibility in scheduling and pricing. Booking your book flight in advance is recommended to secure the best fares.

Once you arrive at Kaohsiung International Airport, getting to your accommodation in Yanchao is convenient. The Kaohsiung MRT Red Line provides direct access to the city centre and major districts within Yanchao, with travel times varying between 20 to 40 minutes depending on your destination. Taxis and ride-sharing services are also readily available, offering a comfortable and efficient way to reach your hotel, especially if you have a lot of luggage.

The best time to visit Yanchao generally falls during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months. During these periods, the weather is pleasant, with mild temperatures and lower humidity, making it ideal for outdoor exploration and sightseeing. Summer can be hot and humid with occasional typhoons, while winter is cooler but generally comfortable. These shoulder seasons also tend to offer better value on accommodation and fewer crowds.

Before your trip to Yanchao, ensure you have your passport valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay. While Taiwan has a visa-free policy for Philippine passport holders for short stays, always double-check the latest regulations. The local currency is the New Taiwan Dollar (NTD), and while credit cards are widely accepted in hotels and larger establishments, carrying some cash is essential for markets and smaller vendors. Purchasing a local SIM card at the airport is recommended for easy data access.

Visa Information

For Philippine passport holders planning a trip to Yanchao, Taiwan offers a visa-free entry policy for short stays, typically allowing up to 90 days. This facilitates easier travel planning, as you generally do not need to apply for a visa in advance. However, it is crucial to ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from your date of entry into Taiwan and that you possess proof of onward travel, such as a return or onward flight ticket.

When entering Taiwan, immigration officers may also request proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay and a confirmed hotel booking. While a formal visa application is not required for short tourist stays under the visa-waiver program, having these documents readily available can expedite your immigration process. It is always advisable to check the latest entry requirements with the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines before your departure, as policies can be subject to change.

Given that immigration policies can be updated, it is strongly recommended that all travellers, especially those from the Philippines, verify the most current visa and entry requirements directly with Taiwan's official immigration authorities or the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines well before booking flights or making travel arrangements. This proactive step ensures a smooth and hassle-free entry into Taiwan for your visit to Yanchao.
