A fellow at a nearby bar told us that The Doubletree used to be the Hotel Utica and was one of the first hotels in the city. It has great original architecture and features! They’ve definitely done a great job of keeping the original feel with modern amenities. I will definitely stay here again.

Pulled into parking lot and a homeless woman approached us begging. That evening there were people hanging in the streets and a lot of police — 5 police cars.

Room was spacious and clean, great experience. It did seem quiet and away from any restaurants but we had a car and didn't matter.
