The room and lobby were clean and modern. The pool is magnificent. It’s very large and the water quality was very good (I take care of pools for our vacation rentals and so I pay attention to water quality). The breakfast was quite nice. You can eat breakfast by the pool in the shade. The service was friendly at all levels. The resort is located in a residential neighborhood with nice houses. It is about 1/2 km from the beach, and about 3-4 km from restaurants via a nice sidewalk.

The hotel is lovely and my hotel room was large with a great balcony overlooking the pool. The staff were the most helpful hotel staff of anywhere I've stayed in my life! They booked me for a wine tour at Alto de la Ballena. It was incredible! Better wine than I had in Mendoza! Only down side to the hotel is you need to get a taxi or rent a car if you want to go to the main beach area with the hand statue. The beach near the hotel has better waves for surfing but the sand isn't as good. The spa at the hotel has incredible massages.

my first impression was quiet good, that was until i arrived at my bedroom where i found the air condioner where in bad shape. i had 3 terrible nights dealing with hotel staff because of the issue with the air pollution witch i am allergic by the way, breakfast was okey, but the music at the pool area (where i had my breakfast) was too hight for my taste . the hotel seems to have lost its category and i would not for any chance call it a 5 stars any more. response to several issues was handle unprofessionally for what i am used to.

Everything was just the way we expected it would be for a 4.5 star hotel. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Only two issues, all the staff were polite and respectful but somehow cold ( front desk and waiters). The housekeeper was the friendliest person we had interaction with. Other issue ( if you may call it that) was at breakfast, there was never any eggs available! The chafing dish for bacon and sausage was full but the one for eggs always empty ( not out of stuck, but never put any in kind of empty)! We had breakfast three days and was always empty. On a positive note the wifi was really good.

I had booked a $450 room, and need to stay an extra half-day. Normally, the cost to extend for a half-day is 50% of the room rate, but I was charged $350 for staying 6 additional hours. The stated reason was that I was "upgraded" to a higher cost room, which was unverifiable. When I volunteered to spend the extra half-day in a different room that would have been in the original rate category, I was told they were all booked. I left the hotel around 930p that night, and it was very clear many rooms were unoccupied. My so-called "upgraded room" had a view of the hotel parking and entrance, not pool area. I paid more for a lesser experience, and was manipulated to pay extra for something that was not worth it. If you can avoid this hotel, I recommend you do.

Very nice hotel in a safe and enjoyable environment. The spa facilities are very nice, the service is good, the restaurant has good food and in general the rooms and facilities are well kept, maintained the grounds great. The hotel is far from most activities and would require a taxi or shuttle to get around. The beach is 15 minute walk. The bar restaurant is quite poor. Food and drink are a little pricey. Overall a good spot for romance and quiet times in a pretty, well maintained setting in a safe neighborhood. Overall a good experience.

This hotel is quite fancy and glamorous, but a bit pricey though. We particularly liked the fact that it has a nice spa, which we managed to use quite a lot given the cold weather during our winter-time stay. The rooms are clean, well-decorated and spacious. The hotel is located in a laidback area, few blocks from the beach, and surrounded by woods. A car (and a GPS!) are necessary to get around. The staff is friendly and polite, even though they hadn't informed us about some of the ongoing social events hosted by the hotel. It's highly recommendable for couples.

Mantra is a resort not too near from the center of Punta del Este, but very near from "La Barra" with a lot of restaurants and Pubs. It has an incredible external pool (climatized), and unique infrastructure to enjoy your vacations. Has Kids Club, great SPA (with indoor pool and jacuzi), and very good restaurants with classic meet from Uruguay and mediterranean options too. One of the bests hotels of Punta del Este to enjoy.

Beautiful hotel. Accommodates food allergies(gluten). Front desk speak English well, all other service providers don't understand English as well as they let on. Food is expensive but premium. In the winter not a lot to do...cinema is closed, casino is closed. The resort is beautiful but is set in a large nature setting. Which means you have to drive everywhere. Only the one restaurant and room service available. The rooms are beautifully Appointed, and the beds are extremely comfortable. Overall a great experience.

The entire time we were there I counted only about 40 total people staying there. With that number of people I thought the service would have been exceptional - quite the opposite! My husband was at the pool and ordered a beer. After waiting for it for 30 minutes he left. My daughter and I wanted to eat lunch by the pool. we were seated at a table and waited 15 minutes for a menu. We were the ONLY ones there. Uruguay uses the US dollar. I bought a Coca Light and paid with a $20. The bartender gave me $4 dollars back. I asked him when the price went from from $5 to &15 for a drink he said, "oh, did you give me a twenty?" When we checked in we were given a "free" drink coupon. My husband tried to use it and he was told that was only good for Champagne so he said great I'll have a glass. He was then told they didn't have any. I asked the manager if they were understaffed and he told me no. He wasn't at all interested in our experience at his hotel!
