This is the best choice in the 4* Hotel & Resort segment in this price range. Smart & friendly receptionist. Enthusiastic & thoughtful lobby management. Housekeeping staff and luggage staff are diligent & honest. My family had a wonderful 4n3d vacation. Next to Muong Thanh is Mango Beach with tubing and a zoo like in Mongoland Dalat. Nearby seafood is very cheap & fresh. Coconut ice cream, tapioca cake & Ham Tien coconut are so delicious. On the way back, remember to stop by the Fish Sauce Museum to buy 60° Protein Shrimp Fish Sauce - a great gift for fish sauce connoisseurs. Remember to book 1-2 weeks in advance to get a good room. Traveloka customer service support is excellent, and is ready to upgrade for you for free. The price you see is the final price, no hidden fees. Recommended by me!

This was my first time staying at The ANAM. There were a few issues at first, but the staff provided quick and excellent support. The rooms were luxurious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was a 10/10, from the pho to the iced coffee, everything was delicious. The pool was clean and relaxing. My family had a wonderful holiday here. It will definitely be our first choice when we visit Mui Ne.

A picturesque resort ❤️ A beautiful little resort located right on the center road of the resort of Mui Ne, with countless shops to choose from. Although the resort is small but very beautiful and every detail is taken care of, the facilities are very new even though it has been in operation for many years, the rooms are super clean and shiny, the towels are pure white, and the swimming pool is extremely beautiful. Mint scented bath set. Coffee packaged in the room is also delicious 🤤 You should choose a room far away from the swimming pool because occasionally the resort has company parties, the music doesn't turn off until 10 o'clock. Breakfast surcharge for 6 year old child 173k/night is also reasonable. Diverse and delicious food. Especially the rich flavor of the dish. Staff were friendly and enthusiastic. Respond to customer needs quickly. The resort has no entertainment activities other than swimming and swimming pools, so I don't know what else to do. There is a small spa, but the walkway down to the basement makes me feel uncomfortable. The room is small, the biggest minus is the bed. Going to a resort to relax, I hoped to sleep well, but I had insomnia both nights. The bed is small in size. If you have a small child, it's a bit tight to sleep in. It's better to choose a room with 2 beds. The mattress has springs so every time you turn over it creaks like crazy. All 4 pillows are both high and hard enough to break your neck 🥲 Hopefully the resort will improve this part. The resort should reconsider providing cushions for sun loungers, rather than letting guests ask or staff asking if they need them. The resorts I go to always have mattresses and towels ready, guests just need to choose the chair they want to lie on and don't need to go looking for staff. Furthermore, the day I went, there were new employees or something. The guests were still lying down and swimming in the pool, but they just leisurely sprayed water to clean the pool area right in the area they were using. I have suggestions but still continue. The resort should clean the lake when there are no guests or in the evening.

Lots of greenery, polite, courteous, and lovely staff. The swimming pool is large and comfortable. Conveniently located in the city center. My family often chooses Saigon Mui Ne resort as a destination when coming to Phan Thiet, with a green space and a play area for children, with a swimming pool that is always watched by security guards. The sea is also clean, the breakfast buffet is quite good compared to some 4-star resorts around.

More about hotels in Ham Tien

Mui Ne: Vietnam's Coastal Charm for the Discerning Traveller

Vietnam, a land celebrated for its rich history and breathtaking landscapes, offers a diverse array of destinations that cater to every kind of traveller. Beyond the bustling metropolises and ancient towns, lies Mui Ne, a coastal gem that has steadily carved out its niche as a premier beach destination. This charming locale, situated along the southeastern coast, presents a unique blend of natural beauty, adventure, and relaxation, making it an increasingly popular choice for international visitors seeking an authentic yet comfortable Vietnamese experience.

Mui Ne's allure lies in its distinct geographical character, a long stretch of coastline that offers varied experiences depending on where you choose to base yourself. The main hub, often referred to as Ham Tien, is where much of the resort development and tourist infrastructure is concentrated. However, venturing slightly further can reveal quieter stretches of sand and more secluded pockets of local life. Understanding these nuances is key to unlocking the full potential of a Mui Ne holiday, ensuring your chosen accommodation aligns perfectly with your desired pace and atmosphere.

For travellers from the Philippines, Mui Ne presents an exceptional value proposition. With an average starting price of just ₱ 241.62 per night for accommodation, it offers an accessible entry point into Southeast Asian beach tourism. The region is renowned for its beautiful beaches, wellness retreats, and romantic ambiance, making it an attractive option for couples and those seeking rejuvenation. This affordability, coupled with the quality of services and natural attractions, positions Mui Ne as a compelling alternative to more established, and often pricier, beach destinations in the region.

The accommodation landscape in Mui Ne is as varied as its coastline, offering options to suit different preferences and budgets. For instance, the Lotus Village Resort Mui Ne, a well-regarded 3-star property, provides a comfortable and amenity-rich stay, while De' Tuva Resort Mui Ne, a 3.5-star establishment, elevates the experience with enhanced facilities. These examples highlight the spectrum of choices available, from charming mid-range resorts to more luxurious beachfront properties, all contributing to the diverse appeal of Mui Ne. Planning your stay is made easy with Traveloka, where you can book hotel options that fit your needs.

Ultimately, Mui Ne is a destination that speaks to a broad international audience. American travellers might appreciate the burgeoning wellness scene and the opportunities for water sports. European visitors, often drawn to Vietnam's rich cultural heritage, can find a relaxed coastal counterpoint here, with opportunities for exploration and enjoying local life. Indian travellers will find the affordability attractive, alongside familiar flavours in Vietnamese cuisine and convenient flight connections. For African travellers, Mui Ne offers a glimpse into Southeast Asian coastal beauty that is both accessible and remarkably serene, providing a refreshing escape.

Best Areas to Stay in Mui Ne

Mui Ne, while often perceived as a single destination, is a region with distinct areas, each offering a unique flavour and atmosphere. For international visitors, understanding these differences is crucial for crafting an ideal holiday. Whether you seek the lively buzz of beachfront resorts, the tranquility of secluded coves, or convenient access to local culture and attractions, choosing the right neighbourhood within Mui Ne will significantly shape your overall experience and ensure your trip perfectly matches your expectations.

Ham Tien

Ham Tien is the vibrant heart of Mui Ne, stretching along the main coastal road and serving as the primary hub for tourism. This area is characterized by its long, sandy beaches dotted with resorts, restaurants, and bars, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere. It's particularly appealing to travellers who enjoy having amenities and entertainment within easy reach, offering a classic beach resort experience. The presence of popular spots like Sunset on the beach makes it a focal point for evening gatherings and scenic views.

From Ham Tien, accessing Mui Ne's key attractions is straightforward. You can easily find local eateries serving delicious Vietnamese specialties like Lẩu Dê Tam Lộc, or explore the famous sand dunes. For those arriving from major international airports like Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City, transfers to Ham Tien are readily available via bus or private car, typically taking around 4-5 hours. This area is ideal for travellers looking to book attractions and enjoy a wide range of activities without extensive travel.

Mui Ne Town Centre

While Ham Tien is the resort strip, Mui Ne Town Centre offers a more authentic glimpse into local life. This area is less developed for international tourism, providing a more grounded experience with local markets, traditional fishing villages, and everyday Vietnamese commerce. It’s suited for travellers who prefer to step away from the tourist crowds and immerse themselves in the local culture, observing the daily routines of fishermen and sampling genuine local cuisine away from the main tourist drag.

Exploring Mui Ne Town Centre allows for discovery of less-advertised culinary delights and a more intimate understanding of the region's heritage. You can witness the colourful fishing boats returning with their catch and perhaps even visit local temples. Getting to this area from the main tourist strip involves a short taxi or motorbike ride. It’s a good base for those interested in photography and experiencing the genuine pulse of a Vietnamese coastal community, offering a different perspective from the resort-centric Ham Tien.

Phan Thiet City

Phan Thiet City, the provincial capital, is a larger urban centre located a short distance from Mui Ne's main beach strip. While not a beach destination itself, it serves as a crucial transport hub and offers a more comprehensive urban experience with a wider array of shopping, dining, and cultural sites. Travellers who appreciate having access to city amenities, including larger supermarkets, hospitals, and a broader selection of local restaurants, might find Phan Thiet a convenient base, especially if they plan to explore the wider Binh Thuan province.

Phan Thiet City is the primary gateway for many travellers arriving by train or bus from further afield in Vietnam. It boasts a more extensive public transport network and is home to the Phan Thiet Railway Station. For those seeking a blend of coastal relaxation and urban exploration, staying in or frequently visiting Phan Thiet provides access to local markets for souvenirs and authentic food experiences. It’s a practical choice for travellers who prioritize connectivity and a wider range of services beyond the typical beach resort offerings.

Ke Ga Peninsula

For travellers seeking a more tranquil and secluded escape, the Ke Ga Peninsula, located south of Mui Ne, offers a serene alternative. This area is known for its dramatic coastline, the iconic Ke Ga Lighthouse, and a more laid-back atmosphere with fewer large resorts. It appeals to those who prioritize peace, natural beauty, and a sense of remoteness, making it ideal for couples or individuals looking for a quiet retreat away from the more developed tourist zones. The landscape here is rugged and picturesque.

The Ke Ga Peninsula is best explored by those with their own transport or who are comfortable arranging private transfers, as public transport options are more limited. The main draw is the historic Ke Ga Lighthouse, Vietnam's tallest lighthouse, offering panoramic views of the coastline. This area is perfect for nature lovers and those interested in a quieter coastal experience, providing a stark contrast to the busier Ham Tien strip. It’s a destination for those who value natural landscapes and a slower pace of life.

What to Eat and Where to Find It in Mui Ne

While sharing commonalities with dishes found across Vietnam, Mui Ne boasts its own specialties, often influenced by its coastal location and the bounty of the sea. From bustling local markets to beachfront restaurants, the region provides a diverse range of dining opportunities that cater to various palates and budgets, promising a delicious journey for every traveller.

The most iconic dishes to savour in Mui Ne revolve around its abundant seafood. Grilled fish, often marinated with local spices and herbs, is a must-try, showcasing the freshness of the catch. Another local delicacy is Bánh Xèo, a crispy savoury pancake filled with shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts, best enjoyed dipped in a flavourful fish sauce. For those seeking a more hearty meal, Lẩu Dê Tam Lộc, a flavourful goat hot pot, is a popular choice among locals and adventurous tourists alike, offering a rich and aromatic dining experience.

For an authentic taste of Mui Ne, exploring the local markets and smaller eateries in the Ham Tien area and Mui Ne Town Centre is highly recommended. Meal times are generally similar to Western schedules, with lunch around noon and dinner from 6 PM onwards. It's polite to wait for your host or the eldest person at the table to begin eating. Using chopsticks or cutlery is acceptable, and it's considered good manners to finish your meal, showing appreciation for the food.

Cultural Norms and Staying Safe in Mui Ne

Navigating a new culture involves understanding local customs and ensuring personal safety, and Mui Ne is no exception. While Vietnamese culture is generally welcoming to tourists, being mindful of certain etiquette and safety practices will enhance your experience and prevent potential misunderstandings or issues. This guide provides practical advice for international travellers, including those from the Philippines, to ensure a smooth and enjoyable visit to this beautiful coastal region.

When interacting with locals in Mui Ne, a respectful demeanor goes a long way. It's customary to dress modestly when visiting temples or more traditional areas, covering shoulders and knees. While beachwear is perfectly acceptable at resorts and on the sand, it's advisable to wear more conservative clothing when exploring local towns or markets. Learning a few basic Vietnamese phrases, such as "Xin chào" (Hello) and "Cảm ơn" (Thank you), will be greatly appreciated by locals and can foster warmer interactions.

At popular landmarks like Sunset on the beach, visitors are encouraged to be mindful of their surroundings and respect the natural beauty. Photography is generally permitted, but it's always polite to ask permission before taking close-up photos of individuals, especially locals engaged in their daily activities. For Lẩu Dê Tam Lộc, a popular dining spot, the etiquette is similar to other restaurants; be patient, enjoy the communal dining experience, and savour the local flavours. Queuing culture is less rigid than in some Western countries, so observe and follow the general flow.

Mui Ne is generally a safe destination for international travellers. However, like any tourist area, it's wise to take precautions against petty theft. Keep valuables secure and be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded markets or during late-night strolls. For transportation, using reputable taxi companies or ride-hailing apps like Grab (which is widely available and reliable) is recommended. Offline map applications and translation tools on your smartphone can be invaluable for navigation and communication.

In case of emergencies, the local police can be reached by dialing 113. For medical assistance, dial 115. While there isn't a dedicated tourist police force in Mui Ne itself, the local police are generally helpful. For Filipino citizens, the Philippine Embassy in Hanoi or the Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City are the primary points of contact for consular assistance. It is always advisable to have travel insurance that covers medical emergencies and provides access to reputable healthcare facilities.

Getting to Mui Ne and Getting Around

Reaching Mui Ne from the Philippines is a journey that involves a flight to a major Vietnamese hub, followed by ground transportation. While there are no direct flights from Manila (MNL) or Cebu (CEB) to Mui Ne, travellers can easily book flights to Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN), which is the most common gateway. Flights typically involve one stopover, often in cities like Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, or Bangkok, with total travel times ranging from 6 to 10 hours. From SGN, Mui Ne is approximately a 4-5 hour bus or private car ride away.

Once you arrive in Vietnam, getting to Mui Ne is straightforward. The most popular method is by bus or limousine van from Ho Chi Minh City. These services are frequent, comfortable, and affordable, with prices typically ranging from ₱ 500 to ₱ 1,000 for a one-way ticket. Alternatively, travellers can opt for a private car transfer, which offers more flexibility and comfort, especially for groups or families, though at a higher cost. For those arriving by air into Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR) near Nha Trang, Mui Ne is also accessible via bus or private transfer, taking around 2-3 hours.

Navigating Mui Ne itself is relatively easy and offers several options. Taxis and motorbike taxis (xe ôm) are readily available for short distances. Ride-hailing apps like Grab are also operational and provide a convenient and transparent way to book rides. For exploring the coastal road and nearby attractions at your own pace, renting a scooter is a popular choice for many international travellers, though it requires a valid international driving permit and caution on the roads. Bicycle rentals are also available for a more leisurely exploration of the immediate vicinity.

The best time to visit Mui Ne is generally during the dry season, which runs from November to April. During these months, the weather is sunny with lower humidity and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for beach activities and exploring the sand dunes. The peak tourist season coincides with this period, so expect larger crowds and potentially higher hotel prices. For those seeking a quieter experience and better deals, the shoulder months of May and October can still offer pleasant weather with fewer tourists.

Before departing for Mui Ne, ensure you have your passport with at least six months of validity. The local currency is the Vietnamese Dong (VND), but US Dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas, though exchange rates may not always be favourable. It's advisable to carry some VND for smaller purchases and local markets. Purchasing a local SIM card at the airport upon arrival is recommended for easy data access. Essential apps to download include Google Maps, Google Translate, and the Grab app for transportation.

Visa Information for Vietnam (Mui Ne)

For Philippine passport holders planning to visit Mui Ne, understanding Vietnam's visa requirements is a crucial step. As of current regulations, Philippine citizens are granted visa-free entry into Vietnam for a stay of up to 30 days. This exemption simplifies travel significantly, allowing for a straightforward entry into the country for tourism purposes. It is essential to ensure your passport has at least six months of validity beyond your intended stay and at least one blank page for entry and exit stamps.

While visa-free for short stays, it is always prudent to confirm the latest regulations with official sources before your trip, as policies can change. The Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in the Philippines can provide the most up-to-date information. For longer stays or different purposes of visit, a visa would be required, which typically involves an application process through the embassy or an e-visa system, depending on nationality and specific circumstances. Always check the official immigration website of Vietnam for the most accurate and current visa requirements.

It is highly recommended to have proof of onward travel, such as a return flight ticket, and confirmed hotel bookings readily available upon arrival, as immigration officers may request these documents. While Mui Ne is your destination, your entry is into Vietnam, so all national entry requirements apply. Confirming your visa status and entry conditions before you book flight tickets is a wise precaution to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey to Vietnam.
