The stay was wonderful overall. The view was beautiful, and while the rooms are a bit older, they have everything needed for a comfortable stay.
However, despite reserving a two-queen room, we were told at check-in that they had “run out” of that room type. We were then pushed to upgrade at an additional cost. The agent initially suggested a very expensive upgrade, which I declined, followed by another paid upgrade option. When I declined again, I was told there were no other options and that we could not keep the room type we had originally booked.
It was frustrating to feel forced into paying more upon arrival, which unfortunately took away from what should have been a smooth and enjoyable check-in experience.
That said, the hotel did offer a complimentary dessert, which was appreciated, but it didn’t fully offset the situation.
